  1. To me this does not sounds simply as a cloud problem.... What is your resolution? It seems quite high (retina or 4k display perhaps), and i seriously doubt you can obtain a great "steady" fps with resolutions like the iMac retina, even with a 780M (that it is NOT a full 780, but is a low powered model of the 780), probably with not enough vram to support such a high 3D resolution in xplane. Comparing your settings to yours for example, yours are lower than mine, and i play with a two years old pc with a i7 3770k and a gtx 680 with 4gb of vram, but with nice results and maaaany photoreals sceneries. Finally... at that res I seriously doubt that 10.25 could be really faster than the 10.31 version. So the best solution is to lower the resolution to Full HD or slightly more. Sorry but there is no (affordable) hardware at the moment that is is able to run 4k (or near resolution) 3D applications at decent speed at high detail settings. May be we have to wait at least a couple of years more...4k means almost 4 time computational power required to the hardware. Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  2. With nvidia card you can create a single screen combining both of them, so xplane will see a single screen extended on two monitor, doubling the horizontal resolution. You have to setup everithing in the nvidia driver using nvidia surround! Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  3. I think you can use some dvi to displayport converter no? May be the simpliest solution! Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  4. Ah ok! I do not understand why you daisy chained 3 monitors on one displayport instead of using different output of the graphic card..sorry Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  5. I have no problem using one displayport and two dvi with nvidia card in 3d surroind mode and latest driver... Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  6. Well...i really did not understand the cameron's message at all, but...the story is that i built i 250 h-FOV glider sim with 3 projectors and 3 PC at my aeroclub (really impressive and immersive), with a real fuse and realistic controls). Now i involved a couple of pilots with enough abilities to start working on a plugin that can be useful for gliding simulation, something like Condor soaring already does, something that overrides the weather engine in xplane or that at least will be capable to generate realistic thermals (that for example are able to follow the wind strenght or to be positioned under cumulus clouds)... At the moment we are working to implement RASP models in the weather engine, starting from www.eziosarti.com, a weather model really useful for soaring over alps, with open data available. What i was thinking is if SMP will be able to, at least, generate cumulus over thermals tops (that are still available in xplane under custom weather options). The model should override the data from METARS (or at least consider only some basic datas) and work on a different model with different calculations. Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  7. I know my question will sound strange but...Do you think it will be possible to generate cumulus on top of thermals with skymaxx pro? I've build up a small team that started to work to a "glider weather generator"...and it could be nice if smp could be integrated in that... Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  8. Really impressive. All those improvements are really useful! Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  9. Me too... Well, i started to work on a plugin for glider flying in x-plane with support of my aeroclub, it would be nice if i'll be able to use it in conjunction with skymaxx pro, expecially for thermals under cumulus...let's see what my team will be able to do in next months... 10. Really love this aircraft, and i was waiting for the update before buy...but what about a custom FMS? Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  11. Ready to go if you want. Two systems to test with, one is a pro glider sim i'm developing...with two pc linked: i7 4790k @4.8, titan black both, windows 8.1, ssd drive etc etc. no smp installed now, cause i have no more activation for two machines) The other machine i use quite often, once a day or once every two days: i7 3770k @ 4.7, gtx680 4gb, windows 8.1, ssd drive Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  12. Well...today I completed a 200* FOV cylindrical sim at my AeroClub, using an ASG-29 fuse, two pc and two projectors with of course x-plane. All pilot that tested it were astonished by the results, but I still did not found a model really good to fly. The standard ASK21 is not bad, and also the modded one, but each lacks in some aspects. I also tried the old ASG29 converted from xplane 9...it was really nice but not so much in xplane 10. Let's see the model of the ASH25 and may be the nimbus...I heard they are considered quite nice and well simulated. We have all this models at the club so I can test them with their pilots to have a better feedback. But I'm sad to say xplane lacks a really nice model of glider... Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  13. Mmm...may be a DC-8 or a MD-80 would be nice too...let's see... Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  14. I noticed too a loss of fps, but not "steady"... Instead it seems the fps goes up and down, but I suspect it is not only SMP v2 problem; I think there could be something wrong with the latest beta of x-plane 10.30 (b8). May be we have to wait a bit more for bug fixing in both products to be completely happy. Other than that, to me seems the performances are still acceptable with most hi res settings. I'm using a i7 3770K @4.7Ghz and a GTX680 4Gb (I'm mostly convinced the high VRAM is the best solution to improve performances in x-plane, together with some FSB overclock of the system bus).
  15. I'm a glider pilot. I fly in Italy at LILC, one of the biggest gliding club in Europe, mostly on ASK-21 and Duo Discus. Soon I'll jump on single seats gliders, like Mono Astir and DG-300. A couple of weeks ago I flown with Luca Bertossio for an aerobatic demonstration with this talented pilot...glider aerobatics world champion...really a great experience!! Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  16. Thanks for the link. I think x-plane will be perfect to train also glider pilots, it requires only a little effort to enhance the weather engine at the level of condor soaring...sad that nobody was thinking about that... Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  17. This will be a nice update to the 270' FOV gliding sim I'm building at my AeroClub. I hope the x-plane weather injector will be also fixed in future so thermals and ridge winds will be correctly rendered in the atmosphere. Any chance to have such features in a "plugin form"??? Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  18. It uses fly with Lua to manipulate datarefs to make the haze appearance like that. Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  19. The fog/haze rendition seems really identical to the real terra haze addon that can be found on this website for free (or somewere in other forums). And of course it manipulates datarefs...at least give a bit of credit to the real terra haze authors... Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  20. Very nice work. The tower cumulus are a nice addition to SMP!!! Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  21. It seems you have reflections of clouds on the water, with SMP...haw is this possible? Can you post your x-plane settings? Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  22. May be the codes are different? So xplane shows both on map... Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  23. It is a windows 8/8.1 problem with USB devices. I experienced this MANY times in 32bit mode also in x-plane 10. All ok in 64bit. I do not know if the same procedure works, but give it a try... I remember I partially solved loading x-plane after a cache cleaning (with ccleaner) and PC restart. Then start x-plane with a very simple scenery and plane, and then switch to a more complex scenery/plane. Many time this worked. The basic is to free as much memory as possible before loading x-plane, so close all unused/unnecessary programs running in background. I also tried all the procedures I found on Microsoft forums, including disabling the power management options of USB devices, but with no success. I suppose it is a memory problem of windows 8 (never solved) or something related, because x-plane loads correctly, but, soon before displaying the loaded scenery/interface, disconnects the peripherals. This happens also in FSX so I suppose it is not strictly an x-plane problem, but a 32bit problem in windows. Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  24. Oh this is nice. Please post the settings here! Did you re-enable also the cloud reflections? Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
  25. A small explanation about meshes: only one mesh could be loaded for each tile. Normally you'd put the AlPilotX HD v2 AT THE END of the scenery_packs.ini file, so the meshes load AFTER the sceneries (photo sceneries), cause is supposed they are loaded before the hdv2 meshes. So...the hdv2 meshes cover the North America and Europe, not the rest of the world, but this is not important in the economy of coupling them with SimHeaven photo sceneries... What you have to take care is the fact that ALL SIMHEAVEN'S PHOTO-SCENERIES PUBLISHED AFTER 1 JAN 2014 ARE BUILT OVER HDV2 MESHES (where available...), so if you load one of this sceneries you'll load a photo-scenery perfectly compatible with hdv2 meshes (remember to put it before hdv2 meshes in scenery_packs.ini). The fact is: if you load a photo-scenery not built on hdv2 meshes, it will load without problems but, even if you have hdv2 meshes for the same tile, those will be not loaded. In practice: alpilotx meshes function well with default global scenery, but if you want to use a hdv2 photo scenery you MUST built it over this meshes. SimHeaven did that and I suppose it is still uploading updated photosceneries at this time... Put a hdv2 mesh inside a no-hdv2 photoscenery it is not a good practice because, mostly when there is some coastal line or lakes or something with water definition, there could be a wrong representation of the photo textures. SimHeaven made a DELTA package to correct this behavior with pre-2014 sceneries and then he made another package to correct some sceneries that had different coastlines and so the missed some textures. About transition: photosceneries are loaded OVER global scenery (and the VRAM is really stressed...) so it does not really matter what mesh are your using, may be the transition will be a bit abrupt due to photo textures connection with global textures. So what I suggest you is to simply download a 2014 version of SimHeaven files and load it before the hdv2 mesh in the scenery_pack.ini. Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
