Mmm...i asked this kind of question before release of smp 3 (i never received a reply...). The fact is that the xplane "trick" of rotating the puffs gives a good (not perfect) perception of speed, even if the clouds are "thin" (i can't see anything wrong with this). Sadly SMP does not give this perception, and if this could be ok for low speed flying, it is far to be perfect for liners or high speed flying. My solution to this is not using smp anymore for liner flights. I hope the v3.1 will solve or at least improve this effect.

How big in size is your X-Plane folder?

SMP v3 Live Weather Micro Pauses and Settings
MercuryMat replied to JoseCFII's topic in SkyMaxx Pro v4
Try to put all settings to minimum, then after a lot of flights in different conditions, may be, you will find a good balance between quality and performance. In my experience even with a powerful configuration i did not manage to reduce the micro pauses, even at lower settings; in fact the required CPU power to draw the clouds is almost the same (the GPU power and vram involve the "quality" of the clouds and if this gpu is state of the art you have, in theory, no reason to reduce quality settings...instead try to work on QUANTITY settings), and if you have to use the very low settings so smp, in my opinion, will be unuseful. In short words: try to live with micro pauses and do not complain because there is not an effective solution at the moment thar can greatly reduce them, even when using the standard clouds you will notice, time to time, the same stutters (but, sincerly, much less). -
No chance to have a simple copy & paste installer?

SMP v3 Live Weather Micro Pauses and Settings

I only observed the behavior in comparison with standard clouds...of course i cannot see the code. -
SMP v3 Live Weather Micro Pauses and Settings
MercuryMat replied to JoseCFII's topic in SkyMaxx Pro v4
This stutters happen to me also, and i identified the problem not in real weather itself, bit in the fact smp tries to draw all the clouds at the same time. This greatly overload the cpu (near 100%) for a while, and all other actions stop working...fps drops and so on... Sometimes, if the cpu is really busy in other work, like scenery loading, a fatal error can occur? I think smp should try to load clouds one by one, trying to optimize the cpu load -
Reduce the visibility in settings to "medium". And WAIT a bit before moving or operating the aircraft. And in nvidia driver settings put negative lod to clamp and try also to disable threaded optimization. This had been said tons of times...

I recently flown a route with a fsx friend on IVAO. I remember he was impressed by the fact he saw my lights switching on and off and my flaps rectracting during taxi after landing. So this is perfectly possible to be seen in fsx but not in xplane...it is the same old story related to how many users are in each sim...

Only that may be the issues are related and you could have a look at them.

Yes...i think is a X-Plane issue...btw this happened to me only after installing SMP 3...I'll investigate... ...sent from One+ One using Tapatalk

This happens to me also. Fast start then a small lag, but quite noticeable, after some seconds. But then all goes well. But...sadly after installing SMP 3, I started experiencing little lags during flights. I checked the CPU usage (using evga tool) and it jumped up to 99% even in places with no osm and no clouds. Very weird. May be is a graphic driver problem...boh... ...sent from One+ One using Tapatalk

I also had this problem, and my system stopped working in seconds. To me, after some tests seems SMP 3 uses quite much vram even at low settings. Fps are generally better, but soon happens to fill the vram with some complex sceneries and/or weather conditions. Standard clouds seems have less impact on vram but they have more impact on fps. Someimes I also experienced some stuttering I never had before installing SMP. May be there is some memory bug somewhere? ...sent from One+ One using Tapatalk

Hi, I did this at my aeroclub sim, it is ok to copy the appropriate folders after one installation, but i also think you'll have to activate all the 3 separately.

Sorry I do not understand what you mean with "given your history of interaction here"...I'm only asking for a clarification on that specific aspect of SMP that I think it could be improved.

Hi, nice video but...Would be possible to see a video of clouds transitions from inside the plane? This is the reason I'm using standard X-Plane clouds: I still prefer the way this clouds interacts with speed and in/out transitions instead of SMP ones. And this would be a reason for choose to upgrade or not (an upgrade that is a bit too expensive for existing customers I think). Or may be would be possible to try before buy? At least for a short period of time (a week for example)?! ...sent from One+ One using Tapatalk

Airport height is probably wrong...do not flatten runways and see if the problem disappears. ...sent from One+ One using Tapatalk

Disable thread optimization in the nvidia control panel, and see if this changes something. Try also to put the card in maximum performances instead of auto. Inviato dal mio iPad utilizzando Tapatalk

Mexico City Xtreme by Taxi2gate MMMX
MercuryMat replied to scubajuan_new's topic in Scenery Development
Scuba if you need some help or advice in conversion you can write pm to me. I did it for lybe by skyhighsim last year and, after a couple of months of selling at the end of 2014, it will be soon again available on markets under my personal brand. I know it is a hard work, but the results could be very very nice if things are done carefully. Hope to see this scenery soon! Inviato dal mio iPad utilizzando Tapatalk -
Oh ok, seems much better with some statics, even if the use of opensceneryX and automate plugin (that are external free libraries) could have reduced the price a bit...

The airport seems completely desert...no statics, no traffic... ...sent from One+ One using Tapatalk

Wow! Very nice! It would be nice if in future you could add step by step some other aircrafts!!! Inviato dal mio iPad utilizzando Tapatalk

Can I use SkyMaxx Pro 2 and real-weather ?
MercuryMat replied to alexandre's topic in SkyMaxx Pro v4
Hi, i finished my sim with three pc networked and i installed smp. Really nice results, but i would like to know if i have to use the same smp settings on each pc or the networked copies follow the master settings of smp. Thanks for your help! Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk -
I'm still sure that resolution (if it is not retina it is still really high) is too high for running xplane decently on a mac... Sent from Mad iPad's Tapatalk
