Well...i really did not understand the cameron's message at all, but...the story is that i built i 250 h-FOV glider sim with 3 projectors and 3 PC at my aeroclub (really impressive and immersive), with a real fuse and realistic controls). Now i involved a couple of pilots with enough abilities to start working on a plugin that can be useful for gliding simulation, something like Condor soaring already does, something that overrides the weather engine in xplane or that at least will be capable to generate realistic thermals (that for example are able to follow the wind strenght or to be positioned under cumulus clouds)...
At the moment we are working to implement RASP models in the weather engine, starting from www.eziosarti.com, a weather model really useful for soaring over alps, with open data available.
What i was thinking is if SMP will be able to, at least, generate cumulus over thermals tops (that are still available in xplane under custom weather options).
The model should override the data from METARS (or at least consider only some basic datas) and work on a different model with different calculations.
