  1. I can't speak for those having not tried all of them, but we have taken stock of all the current offerings out there, their level of 3D animation and texturing and believe we have some cutting edge stuff for sure, we certainly like where we are with our 3D immersion. We also interviewed several ardent users of PMDG products and we demonstrated it to a few folks at the AVSIM Fancon conference and was received extremely well there. It will ultimately be up to users though to decide how we stack up. This is our first effort after all and there are some challenges remaining that we have yet to see how we'll do. All we know is that we want to feel like we're in the real thing for every possible sensation we can cram into it and though time is important, getting it right is moreso, and being a 737, we don't have airline food, but if you keep a close eye on the AC ammeter gauges shortly after takeoff, you might catch some evidence of the coffee maker being turned on TomK

  2. That's correct. That's essentially verbatim what Tom stated, so you have that assumption correct. For an $80 sim it is quite impressive in its ability to provide realism and enjoyment within the realm of reasonable expectation for the price. It can be debated all day long, but of all the sims out there in this price range, many of us feel X-Plane provides the most realistic approach you can get. Morten can answer this further, but I view this answer as a 'yes' and a 'no' one. We already know that X-Plane's approach by itself is not 100% there, but does quite a good job for any enthusiast or developer. In the instance of Morten and the IXEG guys, they want more out of X-Plane (going off of what he has already said) and they know how to get it, even if it takes reverse engineering. They are bending the sim to be even more realistic than it's intended to be, and above all, we can't expect these guys to share every secret they have in their inventory.

  3. Dear Navers, As a fellow user I implore you to please be patient and all things will reach their happy conclusion in the fullness of time. I believe the CRJ-200 upgrade is only a small (but important) component of an overall strategy by X-Aviation to deliver consistently mature products for X-Aviation customers (I base this observation on reading the forums here ... which you should frequent too, seeing as you bought the product here ... and that Cameron et al are all round great guys!). To their credit, they (X-Aviation) have stated unequivocally that these things can't and won't be rushed. Blue skies!

  6. Thank you so much Tom, for 1. making me drool 2. making me realise at some point I am going to have to buy xp10. 3. and a new pc. 4. the panic in the realisation that I haven't got a clue where to look if I want a Windows capable laptop capable of running XP10 5. as a result of (3) I'll have to endure the steep learning curve of Windows 7 6. as a result of (4) there are certain programs I use that will now involve a close encounter with the joys of PPJoy. 7. as a result of (2), (3) and (5) I'm either going to need to take out a mortgage and/or rob a bank to pay for the hardware I need to run the 737. But what a journey it'll be....

  10. I recently got a hold of some Hi-Rez screenshots (Thanks to the guy with the 4Gig graphicscard ). Here are two for now: Edit - I just realized that the forum software cuts these down to smaller rez again . Let´s see if I find someone who knows how to avoid this...

  12. Ok, after we've had our fun with our April Fool's joke on the Saab, it's time to bring you all up to speed with what is happening...including Citation progress. As Cameron already mentioned, systems are complete on the Saab (they have been for a little while) and all we have left is adding the custom sounds. I'm still working on the manual, however, Theo and Jim had nothing to do on the Saab, so we all decided to get started on the Citation until we get a new build of Gizmo. So here's a couple of snaps of the Citation as it is for the moment.
