  1. Finished with pedestal panel UV mapping. Realized again how much I don't know about 3D work in general Had to re-learn little trick to make UV map acceptable quality and prepared for Photoshop use. Now comes the texturing part, which I more like than the UV mapping

  2. well yes, we've surpassed FSX in many ways, but even our top paywares are only par with people like captain sim or Aerosim, we have yet to develop a truly immersive plane both system and modelling wise, but we're almost there.

  3. hey, i have recently started making a b-29 super fortress for x-plane 10 i am currently work on the exterior 3-d model and am planning to make a fully functional 3-d cockpit however, the model for the plane is currently stuck in blender 2.56 which has a broken export script for x-plane and i was wondering if anybody knew a good way to convert it back to blender 2.49. anyways here are some screenshots inside of blender EDIT: Please note that these were from the first day of development and I have literally deleted and rebuilt every part you can see in this picture to a higher quality standard. However, I will keep these photos here for the sake of comedy.

  4. As any x-planer knows, there have been many beta versions in the past, that were full of bugs or would introduce new bugs that weren't in the previous version. Therefore, as long as an x-plane verion is not final, to me, it does not make any sense to test a new airplane in an x-plane beta version for bugs! All this is doing is wasting Javier's time, who is so patient and even tests these "bugs" in beta versions instead of spending that time with his wife and kid! My2cents I would pin a message, that no "bugs" will be looked into, that are found in a beta x-plane version.

  5. Intrance, as the developer of the MU2, the start locks are near and dear to my heart to simulate. X-Plane does not simulate this and I haven't been able to get Austin to implement it yet. It is possible to do some with custom programming, but it becomes very involved. The x-plane engine model is the most difficult part of the simulation to intervene in and overriding the prop pitch in x-plane to implement locks means writing not only your own prop governor algorithm, but also a fuel delivery algorithm....all without fully knowing what x-plane does behind the scenes. After 10.20 goes final, Austin has a pretty long list of new systems features he wants to implement for 10.30 and I am putting prop locks on the list. Tom K Laminar

  7. I jumped over on a sandboxed system and didn't see anything amiss (*or detect any issues myself), but I use links straight into their forums themselves. I don't visit the "portal homepage" which is splashed with ads and whatnot. In a thread on their forum, someone posted an AVG screengrab indicating a potential issue in the Shoutbox module, and a few other web-based scan tools did chirp with issues. I'm not yet satisfied that the site is free of issues, but I trust they're working on it. Chances are something got injected in some advertising components. If you MUST visit the site, I'd recommend doing so in a safe/sandbox state (*via a throwaway virtual machine to isolate your browsing from your production system), and if not - at the very least make sure all elements of your system are 100% up-to-date - Windows updates, Adobe Flash updates, Java updates... etc. -Greg

  8. Fixed that for the 1.01 version. Now selecting the modes only choose the Flight Directors on. Have to switch on the autopilot button to switch on the servos.

  11. Please read the manual. All the questions to most of the "problems" people find are aswered there. I do not know why I write manuals. Next time I won't do it.

  13. Whats wrong with turning off the dome light, reading lights etc and using the rheostats to dim the remaining panels lights. By the way these controls only work when the plugin works ie 32 bit.
