Yes, there will be an extensive menu for preflight options. I don´t want to give too much away, but you will be able to customize your flight to your hearts content with the ease of pushing some buttons and sliders.

Hey everyone! Been lurking for a while and I must say this project is absolutely amazing, hats off to the team! It's strange for me, I had spent a few years planning to build an airbus flightdeck then realized I was always on Boeing classics and had fallen in love with them and decided to build that (well I guess it goes deeper but I'll keep it pithy). I'd already began retrofitting the 737-300 freeware model with all the missing systems in a way that didn't look too pretty but would interface well with my physical device. So my question is this: will this plane offer anything for cockpit builders? I'm looking to build a fully functioning flight deck and would I be able to interface with all the features of this plane? If so, I won't waste my time re-developing the freeware model. As an earlier comment stated, I'm just taken away by all the little details this plane has to offer, I could imagine how intense it must be developing one from the ground up. Looking forward to seeing more! (P.s. I feel like someone asked this before but I just couldn't seem to find it anywhere!)

The short answer is yes, we will do what we can to make life as simple as possible for

those who want to build cockpits around this model. We will provide datarefs and whatever

you need when the time comes.

In addition to the systems, this aircraft probably has the most accurate heavy metal flightmodel ever made in any desktop sim.

You don't want to miss out on it. Everytime I fly it, I feel like I'm back in the full motion 733 sim at FRA - amazing :wub:

Thank you for your response! I must say I'm thrilled to hear that, and I really appreciate you going to those lengths to make life easier for cockpit builders! And I definitely cannot wait to get my hands on that flight model! I'm just really happy to see such a top notch team creating something that I thought would not exist. I've been working with some wonderful people in building the flight deck with everything from a hydraulics specialist for the platform, to a genius of manufacturing as I refer to my other friend. If any of you are ever around the US, feel free to take this bird for a spin!

I think it is time for a new screenshot! =)

How are things holding up? Any progress on the FMC?

Is the 737-classic certified to to a CAT IIIb autoland?

Will this plane have the features to be able to perform an autoland? maybe the real 737-classic don´t have this?

The rollout is the phase after flare right? And i guess the rollout makes the airplane stay in centerline and deploy speedbrakes?

Cant wait to take this baby out in heavy fog and do a autoland at night!

With x-plane 10 coming, weather and lighting will probably be even better than v9!

The combination of accurate EADI and flightmodel enables you to fly CAT

approaches MANUALLY (with Flight Director) with no problems with a bit of practice - just like the real thing!

Even with crosswind and turbulence.

Here is me in the realism CAT1 approach using the FD, crosswind from the left. (Who needs autoland :P)

FMC is doing well ;)

We also have a custom autopilot capable of autolands. About the CAT capability of the 733, Jan

correct me if I'm wrong, but if I recall correct, the real 737CL is not equipped with the rollout function

(rudder control on AP). In that case CAT IIIa would be the limit.

The B733 has EFIS (EADI and EHSI) :)

Absolutely right. The best the 737-300 can do is a Cat3a approach to a limit of 200m RVR and a decision height of 50ft radar altitude. This is with both autopilots engaged. The pilots need to determine at 50ft if the lights are visible - if they are the autopilots will flare the aircraft to touchdown. Speedbrakes will autodeploy (if they are armed), the autobrake will start working (if armed). There is no "rollout" function, so the pilot needs to steer the airplane manually to stay on the centerline. This is the reason why there is a RVR of 200m required - you need to be able to see enough to stay on centerline after touchdown...

About the exterior, those decisions have not yet been made. But expect state of the art exterior.

With regard to just using the flightmodel, time will tell. Since part of the

flightmodel is plugin, we cant just remove everything. When we get close to

release we'll start a forum where you builders can communicate with us

and each other and find solutions.
