Anyone with real news or even hunches when the MU2 update will be made available by X-Aviation?

10.2 has posed some momentary stumbling blocks. The code of the MU-2 works very well and there is nothing for Tom to do. He's done. That said, his advanced framework has posed a challenge for our older encryption system to secure his source code, and until this is resolved we will not have a release.

Our priorities lie with some issues Laminar has been pressing us about with regards to 10.2, Lua, and 64-bit.

We'll keep everyone posted when these issues are resolved. This is not an MU-2 specific issue, but widespread if we were to have other products ready as well. It just so happens that Laminar's timing collided with our own.

1.5. is done? This hit me by surprise - best x-plane news for weeks;)

Keeps me from buying another nice (but somehow "all the same") carenado plane. I'm really eager for going back to the new unike moo.

Thanks Tom and Cameron for all your efforts!

I would also like to point something most of you do will not see. By it's very nature, programming is a technical issues and hurdles must be overcome as limits are pushed. We are handling some very advanced issues that will pave the way for more full featured and reliable products. Nobody works with Laminar more than Cameron to solve these issues for the benefit of the community to grow the market. He consistently takes strides to remove obstacles for any and all developers and does so in the face of many ignorant and childish criticisms. I would like to simply thank him publically for the steps that he has taken on the behalf of all developers of x-plane. Thanks Cam!

P.S. The MU2 hurdle was unexpected...a unforseen result of pushing some new limits, but the solution will ensue!

Thanks Cameron and Tom for the uplifting news, it's really made my day. Mind you, I don't mean to be a pain ... without guys like you this hobby would be so much the poorer, and I owe you both (and Ben as well) a huge debt of gratitude!

@ Flo, I agree with you about the uniqueness of Tom's Moo. It definitely has that extra 'something' that I just can't put my finger on, a flavour that's absent from the Carenado planes. If we were talking wines, the Moo is like a full bodied shiraz with a great nose that you have with a tender grass-fed steak, while the Carenado's are the mid-range table merlot you'd get at a Sizzler's :D ...

Josf .. if you buy the MU-2, welcome to the X-P Moo Club! Of course there isn't one ... yet, but there should be!

It's a brilliant acf, one of the best, I'm feel positive that you wont regret it.

Cheers, Kris.

I think Tom's intention was always that v1.5 is a free update, and could be followed by a paid v2.0 update (sold as a new aircraft) with a lot of new 3D work.

Personally I think there's enough work in v1.5 that it is worth being sold as a paid update, but Tom/X-Scenery/X-Aviation/et al cannot do that now because they've been promising v1.5 as a free update for years (perhaps before realising how many hundreds of hours of work would eventually go into it... )

Certainly, if I ever work on a payware project, I'll be very sparing in the details. "Hey everyone, I've been working on an update to the HS.748, now when the aircraft experiences negative-G the chemical toilet will realistically spill blue liquid everywhere. Also simulated new 3d models of the tea urn with reflective textures. This will be a free update, and it will be released... yesterday. Enjoy!" :D

We knew exactly how much was going into this, and Tom has never wavered from the idea of this being free.

I love this Idea actually I think Austin should include snakes on the planes :P

It has been more than a month since Tom finished the package. Any ideas when in will be available to customers?

I know it's getting quite busy right now at x-aviation but on the other hand it is "just" an update and not a new plane...

Hi all!

Desperately waiting for the update of this amazing aircraft:) Any news about it?

Thanks!

Hi, Cameron posted previously (in this thread) that X-Aviation are basically waiting until the 64Bit stuff is worked out, that there are some stumbling blocks with securing the base code for the MU-2 (I hope I got that correct).
I think that they might also be waiting until Ben can finalise the Gizmo updates as well (advise to read the GIZMO threads :)).
That all said, in my experience with this site and it's products, when it all comes together it will all come together well. All we need to do is to cultivate patience ... which is very difficult I know ... hehe.

Thanks Kris and Ben! Sorry for being a pain. I did read the previous posts but they are pretty old so I thought there were any pore updates:)
