Matchstick Posted July 4, 2023 Report Posted July 4, 2023 (edited) there is an experimental version here https://blog.x-plugins.com/2023/02/gizmo64-version-23.html But it's unsupported and if anything doesn't work and you need to revert back you'll potentially have to reinstall aircraft that use the Gizmo plugin to ensure they are running the expected version Edited July 4, 2023 by Matchstick 1 Quote

meierzwo Posted December 11 Report Posted December 11 Since the use of Gizmo is removed for the Islander BN2T, will other Products follow? Is there a Overview, which Product uses Gizmo and which not? I have the Mitsubishi MU-2 (need Gizmo), the RSG 500 Suite (?) and the Douglas DC-3 V2 (?) in use. And if Gizmo is removed, will it be possible to use the Planes with Linux? I know, there is no Linux Installer yet, but I have two XP12 Installations, one with Windows and one with Linux and I would be very happy to see the MU-2 in my Linux Installation too, doing it the XPlane Style. Simple copy of the Windows Installation to Linux. I only use XPlane in Windows or Linux only, not both together. Quote

It still depends on the developer. 1 hour ago, meierzwo said: Is there an Overview, which Product uses Gizmo and which not? When you run an updated installer it tells you of what you have installed which still require Gizmo, and gives the option to remove Gizmo if desired. 1 Quote
Cameron Posted December 11 Report Posted December 11 @meierzwo, adding to what @Pils stated above, Linux is a choice thing and not something Gizmo held us back on. It's a business decision. For the aircraft and plugins you mentioned, it is not likely we will begin supporting Linux. Regarding the Gizmo list, and stated by @Pils, the updated installers do inform you what you own that still require Gizmo at the time of install. It is a continually curated list that will always fetch the latest information in that moment. That said, you will not be shown this list if Gizmo is not currently installed on your computer at all. The installer is programmed to assume you don't need to see that list if you're not currently running a product that requires it. 1 Quote
