Pete_SMS Posted January 7, 2012 Author Report Posted January 7, 2012 OK, it is weekend and I thought I just show you another cockpit render as the texturing of this part is nearing its completion as well. Not fully completed, but almost there. 1 Quote
derek Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 The best work I have ever seen in x-plane.Will you have pilots added? Quote
steven winslow Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Couldn't have said it any better, Derek! Simply beautiful work, Pete! If she flies HALF as good as she looks she'll be a dream! Quote
Pete_SMS Posted January 8, 2012 Author Report Posted January 8, 2012 (edited) @derek:Will you have pilots added? Yip, it will have a pilot. You will be able to see it in external view.@steven:If she flies HALF as good as she looks she'll be a dream]Technology will get LOTS of attention. I coded my plug-in framework already, which is more or less an interface between X-Plane and my own physics and systems simulation engine, and I will soon move to some serious amd more advanced coding. More or less every system will be coded from scratch and I only use X-Plane default behaviour, if it is accurate enough and if it gives me all the flexibility I need. If it doesn't, it will be replaced by my own code. I have a lot of ideas on the physics side as well, with respect to plugin coding. However, first things first. First I will still spend my time to have the Beaver artwork working inside X-Plane and it needs to befully animated. When that is in place, serious plugin coding and flight modelling will takeoff in full afterburner. Edited January 8, 2012 by Pete Quote
michelebk117 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Absolutely great work.Take all the time you need to deliver a state of the art product.I am definitely going to buy it.Michael Quote
Pete_SMS Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 Just a few teaser pictures for today. The cockpit for the amphibian version is fully textured now.Enjoy! 1 Quote
steven winslow Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Brilliant! Are you sure these aren't photos of the real world Beaver? Quote
Bamboo Cougar Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Sweet! You must have travelled to Viking in Vancouver and taken measurements from the dies for that dash!Oh... by the way... don't think we wouldn't notice.Yes, we now know that you're a Star Trek fan, through and through. But a mercenary Pete? Really? What's his name again... Bobba Fett, you know, the guy that grabbed Han Solo when he was chillin' in Carbonite?See the zoomed snippet from the vanity strip on the dash. You can clearly see him reflected from his position in the copilot's seat... face (helmet) at the right level given the angle and light source. Great work sir. Certainly in the top 1% of anything I've ever seen before.bcgeesh... am I getting enough sleep? Quote
Pete_SMS Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 Hey bc ... damn I thought I could hide being a science fiction fan.Oooh, you are talking about Starwars and Jabba the Hutt. Yip, that's him. Thought nobody will notice. Good catch! ...and yeah you should get some more sleep....Star Trek = Star Wars and Bobba Fett = Jabba the Hutt Quote
Simmo W Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 That is brilliant! What a way to fake a reflection in blender too. Nice touch. Unusually, I'm also a science fiction fan :-) Maybe that could be your trademark, put a tiny bobba image in some hidden part of your planes. I should say many planes, you look pretty darned good at this. 1 Quote
MaidenFan Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 That has to be one of the best cockpits I have ever seen for X-Plane! I can't wait to see it in-sim! Keep up the awesome work! Quote
Pete_SMS Posted January 17, 2012 Author Report Posted January 17, 2012 Here comes the first night lighting WIP. The lighting is baked into the LIT texture and this is the result.Of course, the warning lights and the lights for the landing gear(amphibian version) are just lit for demonstration purposes. I hope you don't see them during flight all that often Hope you like it .... Quote
Xflyboy Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 You and Goran are killing me !The wait is well worth it! Quote
Ntr09 Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Amazing panel Pete! This is ABOVE the carenado level my friend, this something totally different, its the SoulMade level. Amazing work.-NR Quote
Pete_SMS Posted January 24, 2012 Author Report Posted January 24, 2012 Glad you all like it!Just if you are wondering if I am asleep ... no I am not. I hope I can show you the first "in sim" shots this week. Currently, I am preparing the mesh and textures for the export. These will be static exports first. If I am happy with everything, I will start with animations and manipulators. Quote
Pete_SMS Posted January 25, 2012 Author Report Posted January 25, 2012 OK, here they come. The first "in sim" shots of the Beaver in its natural environment.I did the first real and serious Blender exports today and I am quiet happy with the results so far. Actually, I really had to smile. I hope you enjoy these first sim shots as well! 1 Quote
