FlorianR Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Jersey peaked near 100 today also. Thank god I'm going back to Berlin tomorrow - 70 degrees and rain. I guess you can't have it all Quote
Kaphias Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 No kidding, it's supposed to hit 70 tomorrow! Heat wave! Quote
YYZatcboy Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Supposed to be +51 in Toronto today. Makes me happy I am in YHZ. I'd rather be in YLT though, it's warm here too. Quote
simbabeat Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Wow! Stop your complaining guys! It hasn't gotten below 100 during the daytime in a month or so here at KBNA. Add 75% humidity or more everyday and you can't go outside! Quote
Nova Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 I feel with you We haven't even been even near 35° / 95F here in germany. We had one really hot week, but that's already a few month ago.Since then either average 21-26° / 70-80F which is somehow ok,rainy days or cloudy days with 10-18° / 50-65F.And i guess, that's it with the summer. Time to call out autumn again. Quote
Nova Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Doesn't water boil at 100?In degrees celsius. But 100 fahrenheit are just 37°, way too cold for water to boil. No kidding, it's supposed to hit 70 tomorrow! Heat wave!70°? Or F?Anything below 40°/104F i wouldn't call hot. Sure, you may sweat a bit but thats it.Nothing to complain about, imho. Quote
YYZatcboy Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 LOL. So you are just making it sound hotter than it really is down there eh? Quote
Goran_M Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 You know things are bad when you start talking about the weather. Quote
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 IDK how hot its been in NC, but it's felt pretty hot. And I'm heading to Jersey tomorrow with a stop for a day in Annapolis. Thank god it's the beach in NJ near Atlantic City and Cape May. Quote
Ben Russell Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 you guys think you're having a bad day?spare a minute to think about these guys... Quote
Jack Skieczius Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Yeah, thankfully, these hot days do not last forever. Good time to stay inside and fly in X-Plane. Hell maybe it is a sign you need to practice your landings! Also, it is only that hot midday or so. This morning it was nice and cool.Somewhere around 80° F. Went for a ride around town. Quote
Nova Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Practice landings ??? I know some people need to do this, but i can't even remember if i ever had a bad landing ever.I see guys crashing into the ground, when im ATC at VATSIM, but it is, and guess always will be,a mystery to me, how they archiev this. Sure, you may sweat a bit but thats it.Nothing to complain about, imho.70ºF! Time to dig out all the fans; no air conditioning here... Quote
Cat Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Well, I'll add that here in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, we hit a record high dew point of 83 F the other day and temperatures well into the high 90's F. Dew point from Wikipedia "At a given temperature but independent of barometric pressure, the dew point indicates the absolute humidity, mass of water per unit volume of air." So, that's were the "stickiness" comes from... We were more "tropical" than the rain forest in South America! It's been miserable! I wish I could have been in Germany this week!! Stay cool everyone Quote
oregonboy109 Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Almost 100 F in columbus :-\ going to canada on saturday, yesssssssssssss Quote
bokepacha Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Change to celsius degrees and deal with lower numbers ;DAt least you'll think it's less hot for a few days!! Quote
Kaphias Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Well my pet polar bear and I made it through the day. We sat inside in front of the fans... was nice.--------------------------------------------Really though, I pretty much die if the temp gets over 85ºF. Temperature has been a huge deciding factor in what school I'll go to next year. Keep drinking lots of water and checking in on any elderly neighbors of relatives you have; this heat is a real killer. Stay cool everyone! Quote
Airbus Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 ! My outside temp guage reads 102*! Another blistering muggy day here! Quote
