Sigh... looks like I'm gonna be spending more money on XP in the near future...

Good timing since I'll be putting my application to Mesaba for a FO slot in the next few weeks!

As a side note...last I remember, Mesaba will have nearly all Saabs retired around the end of 2011. CRJ is your likely bet knowing the state of Mesaba's fleet plan! :)

If you want to fly Saabs, come up here and fly for PenAir... they have a fleet of two 340A's and ten 340B's- with no retirements anytime soon. :)

Well I do have that wonderful bird, and its been good for my cockpit familiarization for a bunch of the regionals. I've been toying with taking a CRJ fam course, but it depends on what sort of deal I can get on it...

Actually, if you're going to Mesaba, I'd get used to the Q400, since they'll be taking that operation over from Colgan once they merge the certificates.

Yep... heard that too. I think they're all gonna be operated under Pinnacle, so it'll be a mix of everything. Right now, I'm lookin at Mesa/Colgan, Whiskey, and PSA as my first choices. Eagle would be nice, but since AA is spinning them off, who the hell knows where they'll end up. Rergionals are sketchy, to say the least right now...

Eagle's AA flying is "safe" till about 2018 if the verbiage is to be believed. That being said, I'll be in the same boat as you next year probably, so good luck!

Have you looked at Horizon at all? If so, why aren't you considering them?

Goran, what would you recommend we read first about the SAAB to get going right when it releases!?!

If you're not sure about it, get your navigation flying down.

Otherwise, learn the overhead and where everything is.

Learn the CTOT system.

Learn about the autopilot. Particularly CLIMB mode.

Other than that, you should be fine.

Wow, this thread has been busy again :)

I've looked through the other WIP threads for the SAAB and there are requests for GPS, FMC etc. will these be included in your 340a or will these make an appearance in the 340b?

Personally I think the 340a should have the bare essentials VOR and ADF just like the first 340a's Although some 340a's had FMC.

Either way I'll be a happy camper and will buy all versions or upgrades :D

Going by people's feedback, and our dedication to stick to as much realism as is in our control, we have decided against the GPS for now. Many more people have said they would prefer NO GPS. The textures have been made with a possibility to add the GPS at a later date if the circumstances arise, but for now, no GPS. The FMC will not be added to the 340A. To upgrade the A to work with an FMC would require a complete rewrite of the autopilot and I think Cameron has seen enough of that autopilot to make him an expert. We'd just as soon prefer to make the B variant with the autopilot and FMC rather than change the A variants autopilot code, however, don't expect to see the B for at least another year.

Hello everyone, I am finally interested in that Saab, I would like to see some shots of the plane, in sim.

Where can I go ? I went to " Official In Sim previews " but only saw a couple of shots.
