  1. Boo - that's the scenery recommended in the tutorial Any suggestions on better scenery to use? Ill go through the errors and see if there's anything I know how to do... not that hopeful though heh Thank you for the reply!!
  2. This has been determined to NOT be a problem with the CRJ Hello - I was going through your tutorial flight (great job writing it, by the way!) - decending towards CENTA passing through FL160 at -2.4 and got this message. I hit "Understood" but nothing happened. It appears that X-Plane is frozen at this point in time. Windows 7 64 8 gigs of ram i7 2600k at 4.2Ghz 2x GTX 570 graphics cards crash_log.txt Log.txt
  3. Oh.. one more thing.. I love that bright green paint job! Why do all GA planes have to be white? haha
  4. Now I just need $150,000 for a down payment... awesome plane though!
  5. It's just too bad it doesn't come in adult sizes ;D (I enjoy flying my club's Remos GX as well.. secretly.. when the guys aren't looking..)
  6. Hello - I was wondering if anyone was playing Airline Mogul here.. http://www.airlinemogul.com Free game, run your own airline, pretty cool. I'm "inktomi" in public world 1840. I should be getting my next ATR-72 210 in two hours =p
  7. Is the G1000 fully simulated?

    Gizmo 10.3.4

Any chance you could share a few of the things that you're planning on adding into Gizmo? I know "anything's possible".. but what's probable?
  9. I've wanted to try out OpenStreetMap for some time now, but am too lazy to install GCC on my mac just to try out a scenery package. This may be slightly off topic - but can anyone who uses it post some screenshots and feedback? Is it significantly better for VFR flight?
  10. Is that the shade tree micro plane? Nice shot!
  11. Actually, given some time to think - I think anything that would get you closer to having big plugins like the Garmin G1000 system simulated would be awesome. I'd gladly pay for a G1000.
  12. I'd vote for another good general aviation plane, DA-20/40 etc. Something good enough to practice flight lessons in
  13. I appreciate the update regarding the CRJ plugin taking care of everything from airways to VORs. That will make updates much (much!) easier than I'm used to. (I can't wait!)
  14. One thing (gripe?) I have with navigraph - I use it for the UFMC - is that it's hard to update the XPlane database itself because there is no published Navigraph XPlane update. The UFMC comes with a tool that I have to use in Windows to convert the PSS format cycle data to XPlane, then copy it over to my mac, and place the generated files in the xplane directory. Then I copy the PSS SID and STAR files directly into the UFMC plugin folder. Will your CRJ come with an easier (mac compatible, preferably) tool to use to convert the cycle data into a format that XPlane can use? ....or will I not need to do that, since the CRJ FMC will take care of /all/ the navigation data, and XPlane itself doesn't even need to know about the airway/etc data that might be missing in the default xplane dataset? Either way, I'm looking forward to some fun flights in the CRJ
  15. Continental is one of my favorite liveries ever.. it's so clean and "stately" looking.
  16. Hello folks.. I've been wanting to build a plane for a while now, and in the interests of starting small - I thought maybe the Extra 300L would be a good first plane. http://www.extraaircraft.com/ea300L.asp What do you think? I think that this might be a good first plane because Extra has placed all the information (manuals, etc - http://www.extraaircraft.com/techserv.asp) on their site for easy access, and since it's an acrobatic plane there seems to be a wealth of information available online in the form of video and photos. I'd like to model the aircraft in Blender, and then possibly try for a 3d pit as well. Think a small acrobatic plane is too much for a blender noob?
  17. Oook.. that makes me think you've got new screenshots to show us =p
  18. I've got his P51, and it's got a nice 3d pit in it. I have high expectations for this 787
  19. Not to try to sell you on something.. but I too am waiting for the CRJ with baited breath... in the meantime, I've been loving flying around on short flights in nice scenery in the Mu-2 from www.x-aviation.com. It's the first plane I've flown that has a reallllly nice 3d pit, and it's not too pricey. If you want something nice to cut your teeth on (that's more fun than the default planes), I couldn't recommend the Mu-2 more.
  20. Welcome to the site! I too am a .org convert.. I don't know what it is, but having the people who do the modeling and the building here just adds something to this site that it seemed the .org didn't have. Everyone's so willing to help here - from basic questions to advanced 3d modeling questions. Welcome aboard
  21. I would have, but I'm pretty sure my computer can't deal with it =( I'm happy with his the couple 330s I have though.
  22. Looks amazing. I'm reallllly looking forward to flying this plane around - the Dash 8 is one of my all time favorite aircraft to play around in. Are you planning on doing systems as well? (I'd offer programming help, but I've never done anything in XPlane, and don't know C =/ )
  23. I have to agree with you regarding the external texturing. It looks like it's brand spanking new, and never even been ran down the runway. I have utmost respect for Peter, I love his 330, but I do agree that the external texturing on this 380 is far too clean. Sometimes dirt and grime is a good thing (I don't think that I'll be able to run this 380 unless he releases a version for people with slightly slower computers )
  24. Why do you say it's incomplete? (thinking of buying it, as I love flying his A330s..)
  25. Hello! One thing I've been wondering about this scenery is whether or not it includes things like gates at major airports, or if they're "just" the default XPlane airports overlayed with the nicer imagery?
