X-Plane 10 now sold on Steam.
AnonymousUser68 replied to Jim Kallinen's topic in X-Plane News [Official News]
If the talks go well and X-Plane 10 does end up on Steam it could help Laminar to expand their presence and crush FSX and P3D for good. The type of crushing that I expected with the release of X-Plane 10 but never really happened. Many indy games have had major successes after making it to Steam and hopefully X-Plane will have the same success! 2014 should be a good year for our sim! I have had a great experience with Steam after only discovering it a few months back. If my internet could cope I would be buying a digital copy myself but realistically the download is a bit much. -
Yeah V10 is great, as a freeware developer you are wasting your time trying to cater for other audiences. Especially with the current schedule of this bird, get it released then start to think about helping V9 users out.

Looks good to me, nice work! -
From your picture it looks like your passengers had a smooth landing but you are a bit close to the perimeter fence. Approach the runway with a higher descent rate than usual and only start levelling off once you have cleared the fence. Almost dive onto the runway then pull up late. This helps to keep a high approach over the beach and a reasonably smooth landing. Remember to keep your speed low on approach. Also if you keep your speed low their should be no problem in touching down a fair distance past the displaced threshold. In your image it almost looks like you will hit the ground before the runway threshold. Your approach was better than some of the professionals though

HOWTO: Using ACFs instead of CSLs for Xsquawkbox

Wow, thanks Chris! Looks like a large improvement over what we have previously had. No more blinding aircraft lights -
MdMax, where has that scenery come from? Those screenshots look incredible!

Im running 10.25 with Gizmo and SASL with no problems. I think people are having other issues...

Looks like a great prototype. Really good thinking behind it. It should be my next yoke. Sadly I don't have $600 on hand as I am a student but it great to see they met their goals. Enjoy your new yoke, looks like a game changer

Haha that's the funniest youtube video I've seen in a long time. Chris is very correct, this guy has his X-Plane politics spot on. The bit about the org's screenshot policy was too good. I was about to defend Dan Klaue because he provided some great tutorials but even they were covered.

Check that Sky! Skymaxx Pro with "true blue high contrast". It produces a really nice pinky colour at early sunset. In the foreground I have Melbourne International with some great HDR lighting. Since 10.25 X-Plane has been running so slick ^There's the pink ^Look at the freeway tracing back to the city of Melbourne with skyscrapers in the background

Ahh, I have had the same crash without loading SASL aircraft. I have just realised that they are being loaded up as AI aircraft and are causing the crash for me.

Thanks John

The first two are 1.0 and the seccond two are 1.1. I'm impressed you can pick out the difference, I must say that 1.1 runs a lot smoother though. Thanks for the update!

Time for my first attempt God rays are turned off as I can't see any real benefit for the frame rate loss.

Nice paint, thanks Leen!
