  3. Work on the Extra 300L is progressing. I am spending too much time flying it in X-Plane, it is just too much fun: 350 degree/second roll rate.

  9. Looks great Chris, I asked because I was wondering if I could land a chopper on my house, I guess not. But oh well, still an awesome scenery, really looking forward to it.

  11. Dont worry about how many fps you get, worry more about whether you are happy with the detail you get at a decent fps.

  13. By all means build what you want, but if I could recommend anything it would be an aircraft that is rather simple and one that you can find lots of information on. Particularly for your first aircraft.

  15. If you buy the DVDs they may not be up to date, but all you have to do is run the updater to get the latest version.

  17. The flight model is done in PlaneMaker, included with X-Plane, and AirfoilMaker, also included. The models are usually either made in Blender (free) or AC3D (not free), because there are export scripts for both programs to X-Plane's own .obj (not to be confused with wavefront .obj).
  18. That version of REX is for v9 only. The weather model for v10 has been re-done. I don't know if there are any plans for REX for v10, but the weather is pretty darn good as it is.
  19. Not to show. I have been UV mapping the cockpit, which is taking a while because school has started again.

  21. I have considered it, yes. But I already have a rather high poly count, and I am getting crisp text with textures.
  22. Thanks Andy, but I have checked normals and they aren't the problem. And the whole panel is on the UV map with a few pixels to spare. EDIT: found the problem, a stray copy of the panels in another .obj.
  23. Well I have run into a small technical bump. It hasn't stopped work, but will need to be fixed. I have started to texture the overhead panel, but part of it isn't being textured. I have never seen this issue before, the non-textured part is of the same mesh as other textured parts, yet remains grey. (see screenshot, the top part of the panel isn't being textured.) Perhaps someone has an idea as to why? Cheers Kieran
