  1. Maybe you need to do some exclusion zones?
  2. I haven't installed the simheaven files for seattle yet but I'd imagine you could quite easily import s50 auburn municipal into WED or Overlay Editor and create a forest exclusion zone around the offending trees. That should work as long as the s50 scenery is loaded above the simheaven scenery on the test list in the custom scenery file.
  3. There was also this for Seattle http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=15392
  4. The Miami City 2012 scenery b Drzewiecki Design can be quite easily converted to work in x-plane. I managed to do it with the FS2004 version. You need to install on windows first and fool the installer into thinking you have fs9 installed. Then I converted the city and two other airports (already have good kmia) with FS2XP. Finally I deleted the photo scenery on the package with overlay editor as simheaven one was higher quality. Here is a photo: http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/595-what-did-you-fly-today/?p=72744
  5. KMIA AA early morning departure and arrival.
  6. Hello, I've been wondering this for a while. So, how to describe what I mean. Well in x-plane say you have your 3d cockpit in a passenger jet. You are the pilot so set your head view position to be in the pilots seat on the left of the aircraft. In the real world when you line up the centre of the aircraft with the centre line of the runway you see that line as being to your right slightly. In x-plane, no matter where your view is positioned if the plane is lined up in the centre of the runway, the centre line appears in the middle of the screen. This is obviously not correct especially for larger aircraft. Is there any way, or plug-in to make that view appear as it should? Hope you can understand what I mean? Thanks Andy
  7. Agree with you on the looking right in cockpit thing. Doesn't seem to have made difference outside though for me. Cameron, My specs for the record: 3.4 GHz i7, 8GB ram and AMD Radeon HD 6970M with 2GB ram. Andy
  8. Yes it's with HDR on so not too bad I guess. I did update Skymaxx and noticed that too. Andy
  9. OK I tried this but not noticed a difference. I installed the lower resolution textures even though I have a 2GB graphics card and that maybe added a couple of extra FPS. I'm generally hovering between 19-24 now which is OK given the complexity of the model. That's in reasonably built up area with airport scenery and skymaxx clouds by the way.
  10. Yeah thanks for the update but I've not noticed FPS improvement. Perhaps I'll try fresh install and report back.
  11. As has been pointed out 737-200 and 737-300 are totally different beasts.
  12. Their 727 is on of my favorite aircraft. I'm sure this one will be every bit as good!
  13. I would guess that there are no charts as instrument and night landings on that runway would not be permitted. If you watch the video's I posted you can see how its really done. Andy
  14. Nice videos of Sumburgh. Well done for managing to keep the plane on the apron during the second video. It's fair to say the weather there can be fairly appalling but when I flew up from EGPH Edinburgh it was a gorgeous sunny day and you could see right across Scotland on the way up. Would be cool to come up with a list of really challenging and genuine SAAB 340 landings like this. I've flown a few other places in the Scottish Islands in it, Kirkwall, Wick and Stornoway but none have such interesting approaches though. It did however take off from EGPO Stornoway on Rwy 06 which is only 3,200 ft. Presumably with a very strong head wind. It was sat at the end of the runway for about 2 or 3 minutes at full power before they took the brakes off. Andy
  15. AJ, I'd love to see a video of an attempt of the RWY 33 EGPB Sumburgh landing if you want another challange? I've travelled on a FlyBe Saab 340 on that approach. Very impressive! Cheers! Andy
  16. Hello Mick, ATC in x-plane is next to useless so you'll have to give yourself those vectors unless you're flying on vatsim with good controller coverage. Your route from EGNM would probably be POL (UN601 - this is an airway not a fix) MARGO ESKDO TARTN and then vectored as described above. You'll want to be 26000 or below by MARGO and 18,000 24 miles before TARTN. Have fun! Andy
  17. For runway 24, approaching from the south aircraft are usually vectored from TARTN by air traffic control onto a course heading towards the island of Inch Keith in the Firth of Forth descending all of the way. Just south of the island at an altitude of between 3,500 and 3,000 ft the aircraft usually turn left to intercept the ILS. This is the most common arrival into Edinburgh. You can watch aircraft do it on flightradar24. You may wave at my house directly below about 1 mile before you cross the coast on your way to Inch Keith island. Hope this helps! Andy
  18. Just had a look on some cached versions of the page and the mediafire stuff has been deleted I think.
  19. Fair enough I suppose but why have they taken down the nice basic models they had created? Might as well still let people enjoy using them?
  20. Frame rates really are exceptional. I'm not sure what you've done, but it's worked. I am still in high 20s - mid 30s will sliders up full, rays and HDR on. Well done
  21. Mac, I've just turned the settings all the way up from default and suddenly I can see from orbit again. Strange. Getting great frame rates still!
  22. OK orbit textures still not there though for me :S Not a biggie.
  23. 1st impressions. Woah, massive frame rate improvement with higher settings before. I can even manage the 'rays' now too. With HDR on. I'm up between 30-40 fps.
  24. Hello, I am using skymaxx pro and I've noticed something odd. When I zoom out very far, I get to a certain level that is all blue and I can no longer see the earth just stars. Here are some pics: Zoomed far away Further Space and no earth Not really a huge problem but a bit weird. Also get weird blue glowing clouds sometimes. Mostly it looks good though. Cheers Andy
  25. Been using the 757 for a few days now and it does seem like an excellent aircraft. Seems to fly a lot nicer than the 777, certainly seems more fun. I don't know if that's because the development team have improved or I'm just a terrible 777 pilot. Andy
