Had great weekend for our annual get together and Food and beer were flowing. Setup a couple big screen tvs on my new computer but windows 8 took it down Saturday afternoon. Was a terrible week having to restore Win8 about 7 times including again Saturday morning. We did get some flying time in though and it was fun. But I decided windows 8 will no longer be my OS. Windows 7 will only support 16gb RAM while 8 will go as high as 64gb RAM. I have 32gb 1866hz and now down to 16. Oh well, at least aftr getting Windows 7 installed today thanks to Camerons help, I have been able to get going aftr a long day installing mobo software just to get Win7 running. Since the mobo software controls all the LAN,SATA,USB and overclocking software. But Its up and running now, have yet to test X-plane but will when time allows after finishing installing so much. I found it this morning by accident. Was cleaning up files and folders and saw the X-Plane installer. Gave it try to see if there were any updates and bingo. Finished scanning my folder and said it a 1gb update ready to install. Clicked it and it was done before I knew it.

Mine took 5 mn.

Downloading now, huge update with about 1gb to DL.

Sad that X-Plane 10 can`t get their weather engine together enough to make the clouds move with the wind. Forcing it to a outside vender to make it and make money from something that should have alrady been built in. This is not a Diss to you John. More of a poke at Laminar for failing to keep what worked in the sim.

Hmmm, I hjave the latest version of 10 x and just tried to get clouds moving in the mountains of Oregon at Joseph State airport. Have scattered cumulus set from 6000ft to 18,000ft with wind speeds set to 60mph at all 3 levels. Watched it for the longest time and nothing was moving. also had the puffs set 98%. Still don`t see clouds moving with the wind in 10x. Wonder why this feature that looked so well in 9x is not in 10x yet.

What makes me wonder about the org then then anything, is how they can maintain their .org status since it was designated to be a Non-profit organization on the net. How does he do it ? It should be more like X-Plane.biz then .org.

Patience paid off, good to know you found a way back in. It was pissing me off to when I could not get in. Worked at it for days and all of a sudden I was there.

Have you cleared your old Avsim cookies from your browser cashe ? I went to log in over there to and fouind an entire new system running. Been a member of Avsim since 1999. Had to look through my saved passwords in my firefox control settings and found I had changed them and used the ones I had found and was logged in and able to get to the forums.

No problems at all with the Saab using the Titan.

Leen De Jager, is the man, he paints many of th great planes. My hat is off to this great guy.

To bad X-Plane does not model hard powerlines like we have for real surrounding most of the fields. Now that would really add to the emersion of the sim.
