  1. This is also what I mean when I complain about the lack of systems depth in GA aircraft. Working circuit breakers, i.e. other systems depending on realistically modelled electrics, would be a start.
  2. If you really want to do a realistic space flight, I think it would be much easier to use Orbiter for this. http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/
  3. Very very nice, Uwe.
  4. Yeah, it's a fun plane in typical Carenado style. Looks extremly great, flies well, and has not many systems to worry about (which, for me, makes Carenado planes less and less interesting, but well, it's their approach since years... but I wish for a plane which has the visual quality of Carenado and the combined depth of Alan Fletcher's freeware C172 (general systems) and JGX' Cessna Corvalis (G1000)). By the way, currently, the OAT on the digital clock in the v10 plane has a bug (press the OAT button on the clock and you'll recognize it), but thankfully it's just a small one, and the analogue OAT gauge is correct.
  5. I can only say that the Corvalis has no in-cockpit animations for stick and pedals.
  6. Carenado's new C340 II in TropicalSim's new Buenos Aires: Great plane at a good airport.
  7. What should have been a relaxed morning flight, became my worst landing ever ... This happens when you are not gentle, but try to force her down. I hope they were able to open the doors in time ...
  8. Just 2 minutes before touchdown in Seattle, the motor stopped. Well. At least I did not touch any tree and stopped next to a gas station.
  9. From reading weblogs of Swiss and German airliner pilots, I got the impression that regardless if you are PIC or PNF, it's negotiated between the two before the flight who will land where. For example, for one flight from Zürich to KJFK, the captain asked the first officer if the FO wants to land during the LSZH -> KJFK or vice versa. The FO chose the first option and had the fun to fly the (difficult) Canarsie approach for his first time -- despite him having less experience than the captain. Each FO should be able to perform all the captain's flying tasks without problems. Otherwise, he would not be FO.
  10. Cessna C208 in Tahiti More of this in the first issue of the X-Plane 10 Travel Guide: Download: http://forums.x-pilot.com/files/file/526-4821-nm-across-the-sea-xp-10-travel-guide-1/ :-)
  11. File Name: 4821 nm across the Sea (XP 10 Travel Guide #1) File Submitter: Mario Donick File Submitted: 07 Jul 2013 File Category: Plugins and Utilities Each issue of the monthly X-Plane 10 Travel Guide presents a tour you can fly in X-Plane, incl. screenshots, download links, recommended aircraft and maps. This issue's topic is 4821 nm across the Sea. Falalop - Tahiti in X-Plane 10. It presents a tour starting in Micronesia and ending in French Polynesia. Have fun. Note: This download is a .pdf file! 13. On the other hand, if he's really only 12 years old, one should not expect "adult" writing style (i.e. always thoughtful and correctly) all the time.
  14. Not really. Maybe you accidentally changed a setting, like number of objects shown, or AA?

  16. Apart from the stunning visuals, I'd like to ask how far systems modelling in this plane goes. For a start: Are the circuit breakers working? Are special failures modelled? We don't need a 2nd Carenado -- other XP developers need to push the bar not only in terms of graphics, but also in terms of simulation accuracy (and maybe even pedantry ).
  17. Beautiful! I suggest you upload it to the x-pilot file library, too, because many people won't see this thread.
  18. It's a very good airport, although the X-Plane default streets near the buildings are redundant.
  19. Systems-wise, this the best General Aviation plane currently available for X-Plane. With systems-wise, I mean stuff like working (!) circuit breakers, the need for engine priming before startup, and all the small details (the key, the headphones, the fire extinguisher, the GPS/AP startup time, and all the options available from within the cockpit.)

  21. Oh!! I remember, I had this one too, but somehow it stopped working in XP 10. I once went by bus from Germany to Romania, passing Vienna and you could see this very same industrial area from the highway... during the night, it was a very strange, surreal atmosphere...
