  1. @coolgovind180 this may be kind of an elaborate workaround, but you could join a VA that uses TFDi's SmartCARS which allows you to check the 'pause on TOD' checkbox. Not sure if I can name a VA here, but I'm with an Australian one where 'pause on TOD' is allowed. HTH
  2. Running v1.32 with the Gizmo beta version (the first one without an end date set). I have some feedback about the FMC I'd like to share and run by other people to verify: - When programming the FMC and clicking on a button, sometimes there's the clicking sound without input registration. This means that audible feedback is that a button has been pressed, while in fact it wasn't registered. It might be psychological, but I think this behaviour was different in v1.31. - The FMC's CLR button doesn't make a sound when it is pushed. (E.g. no audible feedback). - At the very beginning of a new flight, I adjust the fuel quantity for new flights in the Preflight menu. Sometimes (more often than not) the new quantity is not registered. What I do to fix this is starting a new flight in XP from another ramp, then it works. Repeatedly setting the new amount of fuel works in the end sometimes as well.
  3. @danhenri, as Jan said, Librain is not compatible with XP11.50 yet. The best ways to avoid triggering the use of Librain are (IMHO): - Removing the plugin (don't forget the plugin folders of the various aircraft); - Disable real weather in XP or disable real weather plugins so it doesn't rain or snow, which in turn won't trigger Librain (this is my workaround for the moment) Alternatively, you could install a clean and new XP11 beta version without any plugins and try the plane in that installation. But my first bet would be that you're using real weather, which imported precipitation and triggered Librain.
  4. I downloaded the installer from my X-Aviation account. It uninstalled the installed version and installed version 1.32.
  5. I haven't experienced this at all, although I have seen some videos about flying in VR. I think the biggest disadvantage would be that you need to attend to your aircraft all the time, even on 4 hours flights - I like to start a flight, do work or other stuff during cruise and come back before T/D. I wonder if that would equally be possible with a VR setup. I guess that's the outcome for most of the projects that are started indeed. It helps to have real live project management experience I think, so there can be some sort of 'projectplan' and budget. I do realise that's not any form of a guarantee for an undertaking like this of course. You're spot on as for the number of moving parts and targets in such a project. In the end there's a lot of dependencies, but a lot can be accomplished. The problem is that for every nice video on YouTube there might have been challenges for days, weeks or months. Those are not seen and easily overlooked I think. All in all the VR path might be one to explore further, before pouring thousands of euros in parts (and still have nowehere near a complete experience).
  6. Thanks for your insight about this. I have considered this lately as an option as well, but I'm not sure whether it's for me. I like to tinker with microcontrollers like the Teensy (an Arduino clone) although I'm certainly no expert and I like searching for stuff on ebay. The real limitations for me are funding and physical space. Also, every company providing (sim) cockpits and parts seems to be focusing on the 737NG while I fell in love with the B733 because of it's steam gauges and FMC (I also own the great B732 by FlyJSim, but I like the benefits of having more automation available). Your plane is the ideal mix of old and new to me. Maybe I should ask my VR adept colleague about VR and maybe I could lend his equipment sometime and maybe you are right. It would save in the physical space department although I like those blinkenlights and knobs
  7. I would also be interested in the proper dimensions as I'm considering building a home cockpit (MIP only at first) myself. The problem is mainly: what gauges to use and what to build myself... I wish I didn't like this plane so much and hadn't seen Rob's cockpi, now I'm in love
  8. Hello Martin, Do you have hardware attached to your sim PC, like Saitek panels or something? Is the hardware set to 'Flaps 0' maybe? Regards
  9. My quick views were gone as well, indeed not a big deal but keeping them would have been nice.
  10. What X-Plane version are you using? I don't have this on XP11.50 beta 14 in Vulkan mode.
  11. Thanks guys, updating as I type this! Also trying the Gizmo beta version now. Using XP11.50 beta 14, LiveTraffic beta 2.06, Gizmo beta... What could possibly go wrong?!
  12. Hallo Jan, Thank you very much for your elaborate answer to my question! You're confirming what I already suspected; high altitude operations are some thing else as opposed to 'regular' flying altogether. I did mind the landing elevation, but didn't know about the 6000 feet rule that would prevent me from having medical problems on my watch See, we could use that cargo version - cargo doesn't complain as much Vielen dank!
  13. I have a question about high altitude operations. Recently, I learned that the normal 737 (normal as opposed to one having the high altitude operation option) has a maximum landing altitude of 8400ft. Today I tried to autoland at SEQM, which is located at 7910ft. That didn't exactly go as planned as the aircraft bounced quite a few times down the runway. Manual landing was also quite a challenge and interesting. Therefor, the question is: how accurate would X-Plane simulate less dense air at those altitudes and how much would I be pushing the boundaries of the IXEG 737 operation it in and around the Andes? Curious for your thoughts and ideas.
  14. To follow-up, I have installed the IXEG 737 specific xsaitekpanels config from here: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/38734-xsaitekpanels-configuration-for-ixeg-737-300/ After installing them I had no problems with VOR navigation. Before installing this specific configuration for the IXEG 737, it was looking at default xsaitekpanels config that didn't agree well, so to speak :-)
  15. Hi @Pinello, I was wondering of you found any measurements. Looks like all the commercial cockpit vendors focus on the NG and the MAX.
  16. The link for Aloha Cargo is broken.
  17. Hello @Yohannas, are you by any chance using XP Realistic Pro? I found that the "Windshield wind" setting was too loud for me (XP Realistic Pro v2).
  18. I'm also looking for this. There's ofcourse XHSI and ZHSI, but I haven't looked at their suitability for the B733 yet. And there's also AirManager that allows for custom made panels based: https://siminnovations.com/community-panels
  19. Hmm... I landed fine at LEMD just now with the settings as I described above. Will test with your suggestion as well, but this might prove that the setup is working. To be continued I guess.
  20. Hi Jan, Thanks for that suggestion, I'll try that! Regards, Sebastian
  21. I'm still a bit confused about this. I'm flying with a Saitek Yoke and 2x a Saitek throttle quadrant. I couldn't taxi out on my first try so I assigned a TQ axis to the nosewheel tiller. This allowed me to taxi out, but taking off was a pain (to keep the plain on the centerline during takeoff). Then I searched a bit on this matter and I read about a toggle for nosewheel steering and I assigned the '\' key to toggle that. That kind of fixed things, except that on landing the plane veers all over the runway upon touchdown. What I'd like to verify is whether I have set this up correctly for my hardware (e.g. no rudder pedals) and whether I'm missing something or doing something wrong. This is the only challenge I have with this plane, which I love! Any insights are greatly appreciated
  22. Upvoted, thanks for being this open about the roadmap. Other developers tend to be secretive sometimes, or respond badly to feedback from the customer base. Nice to see a difference
