  1. Great news, Tom! This is still my favorite plane in the X-Plane world, looking forward to the update. Will this update have an installer/activator similar to the Falco? It's quite handy and will be nice to have all my X-Aviation planes in the same folder.
  2. Thank you thank you thank you thank you. I'm really disliking this trend of putting models of people in the planes, not worth the polygons and not great looking. But I don't mind seeing a pilot from the external view!
  3. This is a sentiment I can get behind. I do, however, think that a simulation level 747 is more appropriate for an add-on product than for a default aircraft. A nice set of basic default aircraft was something I was looking forward to in XP10, and while there are not as many as say in the MSFS franchise, I do appreciate the big step forward taken by Laminar through the efforts of people like Javier. There is room for improvement, as you have pointed out, but this is a good deal greater than the last version. Which doesn't preclude criticism of course, but darn if these forums don't fill up quickly with that.
  4. Which is interesting because a certain MSFS developer mentioned having to change the shape of the hump to be less realistic because when they modeled it according to specifications everybody complained that the shape was wrong. Looking forward to the day a flight sim product is released without an upswell of negativity.
  5. Huge congratulations to Javier for some of the fantastic new planes inside of XP10. What a huge step up from v.9. Glad Laminar hired you and put the resources into this!
  6. Great news Guy! The new screenshots are fantastic, and I am really looking forward to seeing the project complete. I particularly liked the window shot from first class. Is it safe to assume that this product will be supported for version 10 of X-Plane since it is just on the horizon?
  7. I had always wondered why X-Scenery had that moniker when my main impression about it was the MU-2! Great interview. Looking forward to creating scenery for all my favorite small airfields.
  8. I enjoyed the video Orion, thanks for posting. Seems to be quite a stressful job actually ...
  9. But all I can say is that I definitely AM looking forward to you UV mapping that!
  10. Love the wireframe pics, nice to see how the mesh looks under the textures that you'll be cracking on! Nice piece of work you've got going on there.
  11. Are you talking about the T-28 update or that yummy island scenery?!?!?!?
  12. I'm looking forward to the release of classic propliners. I guess the only one on the table at the moment is the DC-3. Would love to see the Boeing 377, and DC-4, DC-6, DC-7 etc. I REALLY enjoy looking up old timetables and flying the routes.
  13. Just as much excitement as the announcement for the release date of V10 is the fact that you'll soon be able to focus on your own projects again, Tom!
  14. The window looks fantastic Leen, you are quite good at this.
  15. Congratulations on the transition, I imagine a lot of work goes into such a thing. I just logged into Aerosoft forum and noticed they've changed their forum layout to something quite similar, same platform perhaps?
  16. I dunno Oliver, the prop doesn't seem to be rotating right in that first pic, maybe you should ask the dev to replace the 3D prop with a flat disc version Also, congratulations!
  17. ;D More power to you!
  18. I am favorably impressed with the "environmental extras", those small things that while not critical to a simulation improve the user experience. The menu of extras includes various preset views (making it easy to pop back into the luxury cabin!), a pre-flight walk around, animations menu, fast start, etc. Can't comment on flight dynamics or fps in weather situations as I have yet to take it up for a whirl. Looking forward to it though!
  19. Doesn't really sound similar at all. Sounds a bit more like the CaptainSim ProLine series of planes for FS2004 and FSX: 727 Captain, 707 Captain, 767 Captain etc. But does it really matter? Seriously?
  20. It would probably be good practice to state outright that the picture was modified and re-posted with permission of the author. I do like that you linked to the original. But just to stay fully above water, please consider it.
  21. Hi Jan, Would love to hear more detail on this. Looking at 737-300 cockpit photos online on pneumatics panel I see OFF in the UP position, and ON in the DOWN position. For example, here: http://www.b737.org.uk/images/paneloverhead.jpg It's a little hard to see through the sarcasm, but I think that you are saying that this not the case in *all* 737-300 and -500 planes? Particularly the ones that you fly? Would love to hear more! Kind Regards.
  22. Stunning work for one of the default aircraft. Blows the FSX default 747 out of the water, at least visually. As much grief as we give the default FMS, at least there is the semblance of one in X-Plane 9. Already we're a step ahead of the defunct competition 8)
  23. I liked your review format, Simon. Blog is easy to read as well, text is not too small.
  24. I've had your Comet dev website saved in my bookmarks for quite some time. I'm excited to see it coming along!
