You guys have gone above and beyond with this product. Best quality, best support and customer engagement, fastest and easiest update I've ever seen. And you're right Cameron, quite fun to update as well! Best 75USD I have ever spent in flight simulation

TOWS... what am I doing wrong?
wotaskd replied to wotaskd's topic in 737-300 Aircraft Systems and Operation
Thanks guys! Spoiler it was... -
Hello, loving this plane, I'm sure it will be the only thing I will fly in 2016 The one thing that I could not figure out though, is why TOWS will not stop going off every time that I start the takeoff roll. This is what I have: Load airplane with ready-to-fly preset at SFO, RWY 28R Load FMC, set ZFW and GW, derated T/O Flaps 5º per TAKEOFF REF page Trim set to 4.7 units per GROUND SERVICES and TAKEOFF REF page (manually set using X-Plane's default trim commands mapped to my joystick buttons) Auto brakes set to RTO Spoilers armed Parking Brake off F/D on (both), A/T armed Line up with runway centerline, move throttles to 40% N1 until they stabilize, press TO/GA button.... then the horn goes off. Tried setting and resetting everything, same problem. Ideas?

I have noticed the very thick lonely bolts as well with 2.1. I wonder if RTH is partially to blame for making them so particularly visible. Thanks Frank! SkyMaxx Pro is - no doubt - one of the best things that have happened to XP in years!
-
Sorry for just guessing here, but I "guess" it won't hurt... Have you checked if you have the latest X-Plane data update (from data.x-plane.com)? If the Saab reads the fix information from there, an outdated one might be the source of the issue. Also, if you are using the UFMC, it typically allows you to overwrite the default XP data files with a new set compiled from the Navigraph ones. If you've done that, I'd try with a fresh set.

+1 BTW, version 1.1 absolutely ROCKS! I finally can turn God Rays on on my computer, as well as dialing cloud drawing distance all the way up while keeping fps at their 30's John - the complimentary bottle of wine you earned (by changing my sim experience forever) is still here - let me know when you are around the Chicago area so I can drop it off
-
Just the ability to more realistically render our own ACF's contrails would be amazing, if feasible. The current implementation in X-Plane makes the modern airliners I fly feel more like a B-52 on takeoff
-
This software is absolutely amazing. Just ordered yesterday a new R9 290X so I can enjoy it in its full glory (and FPS)
-
For some reason I think this is going to change everything I thought I knew about how clouds were supposed to look in X-Plane. John, you have my credit card, plus a bottle of my favorite Cab if you ever stop by the Windy City any time soon
-
Pure joy. That's what it is. Engineering and art put together in the best possible way.
-
Amazing, John. Take your time, I'll be there with the credit card when you are done Questions - do the ACF's strobe lights interact with the clouds at night (lighting them up)? Also, have you worked out a way to provide smoother weather transitions than X-Plane's as updated METARs are downloaded? I don't know if it relates to your comment about how scattered clouds disappear suddenly. Congratulations!

No tire smoke upon landing with 10x all betas

That (the screeching noise from braking, regardless how softly you touch it) is probably my biggest gripe with X-Plane, independent of version. -
DVDs arrived today Installing DVD 7 out of 8...
-
Thanks Cameron!

Completely agree. Quoting John Pavlus (via John Gruber), "Director Ridley Scott famously told his production designers to make Alien’s spaceship and costumes look roughed-up, slightly messy, and above all, lived in. Otherwise, it just isn’t believable enough to see yourself in." You are making the IXEG 737 believabl enough I could almost smell it
-
Hey Cameron, Just curious, now that you are testing X-Plane 10, about how do RealScenery packages integrate with it. I would assume that all OSM integration and procedural buildings are overridden by the package, would that be the case?
-
Same here. I don't care about release dates, take your time and give us the best you can do. I'll pay 3x if it is as good as I think it will be
-
Release you're most looking forward to...

1 - IXEG 737 Classic 2 - XP10 3 - Aerosoft Mega Airports for XP - any of them!!!! -
Maybe it has something to do with Ben's comments here? http://www.x-plane.com/blog/2011/08/x-plane-10-use-more-vertices-maybe/#comments I think that's outstanding. This is the level of realism we could only dream of!
-
Wow!!!!!!!!!! Amazing! Keep up the great work!
-
Hi, I still don't have it all set up because I'm yet to buy the computers for the outside visuals, but this should give you a good idea: http://wiki.x-plane.com/Chapter_8:_Expert_Essays#Multiple_Computers.2C_Multiple_Monitors Cheers
-
That's great Cameron, thanks for that. Last one and I promise to be quiet How are you handling the licensing for the scenery? Is it by user, or by machine? I explain: I'm building a cockpit that will use 3 computers configured for front, left and right views. Should I buy 3 licenses or one? I assume 3, b/c that's what I will have to do with X-Plane. But it's always better to ask first Thanks!

The impact of the imagery is amazing at altitude. I wonder, would we notice any significant increase in detail at ground level? Ex: the look of mountain ranges close to airports. With X-Plane's scenery it is very easy to notice the lack of detail. Would you have any image to share?
