  1. I love Wacos. I will probably end up with this in my folder at some point. xD Hope it sounds as good as the real one like you guys imply it does. -NR
  2. You're just some random guy who doesnt know what he's doing. Plus this is not oversaw by Cameron. -NR
  3. I've lobbied for it for quite a while now. It needs to be official AND officially managed and organized. Look at what Kumiankka does on the org for example. -NR
  4. No "list" of problems, I'm just waiting for everything to sort out over time. I would be glad to help if you need it. -NR
  5. I already am disappointed with the disorganization of this whole thing. I will continue going to the .org fly-ins until this is all sorted out. I have a TS3 that you guys are more than welcome to use as well. I have long wanted to have fly-ins here at x-pilot, lets get it started right. -NR
  6. But anyway, lets keep this thread on-topic from here forward. We can discuss things like this in their own thread. -NR
  7. I don't think that will be true by the time this project is done. -NR
  8. I believe developing for XP10 is the only way to go at this point. Everyone will eventually shift over. Do you know of anyone still using just v8? Didn't think so. Looks like a great project. I am loving the influx of retro stuff lately. Don't give up! -NR
  9. We have a 50's 172 here at CSV that has one of those. It's a clever system. -NR
  10. Blackshape Prime, not like it hasn't already been on here a lot.
  11. Oooh looks nice. This is the sort of thing I think X-P needs. -NR
  12. I suppose I need to clarify exactly what I'm looking for. For it to be worth my time to work with someone on this, (whether the product be free or payware) it needs to match precisely, inside and out, the real Cherokee. And since I would intend it to be a training tool, it needs to fly like the real thing to the same level of detail. Take for example the DHC-2 Beaver being worked on by Pete at SoulMade, he has an excellent 3D model and also promises a true to life flight model. I figure with all the wonderful devs and dev teams here at X-Pilot, someone who does light GA (or wants to start) will eventually need a new project. Thanks for reading, NR
  13. Flight model is obviously important to me, being a pilot. I need both though, Jason's planes have a great flight model, but other parts are just fictional. -NR
  14. Maybe I should just ask Carenado. You guys don't seem to get the point. -NR
  15. I knew someone would bring that thing up. It's ok, but it is last generation or maybe older. I want a photorealistic 3d cockpit and such. -NR
  16. Hello devs, hope it's ok to post a request here, because I've noticed that a very fun and interesting aircraft is absent from the X-Plane world; the Piper Cherokee 140. I've had the opportunity to take flight instruction in one of these, and I must say it passed my expectations by quite a bit. It's a real joy to fly. I'm not going to bore you with all the great things about it, because that's not the point here. I'd like to ask any dev out there capable of 3d modelling and good texturing to work on one of these. I'll be able to provide as many pictures as you want, real flying numbers and experience from me and my instructor and anything else that can be gained from flying one. Along with POH data. Anyone up for it? Thanks for your consideration! -NR

The user interface of many Linux distros are far from non user friendly. In fact, Linux Mint, especially with XFCE, is easier to use than WinXP. So long is the list of linux misconceptions... -NR
  18. Very nice looking! Makes me want that plane even more. -NR
  19. They all work, just different prices and features. -NR

First of all, don't go to windows, get Linux of some sort (my favorite is any flavor of LinuxMint). Second, don't get that PSU, get a Corsair brand one (700watt should work fine, mine is 700 watt). Third, don't get that RAM, get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233144 I have 16gb of it, works great all the way up to 1800Mhz and beyond. The 650Ti should be fine, but a 660 blows it away. EVGA is a good brand. Other than that, looks fine, might opt for a better case and cpu cooler (liquid is great if you can afford it) and I might opt for a Western Digital HDD. Have fun building! -NR
  21. I've been thinking the same thing, although I'd probably rather have DC-4. -NR
  22. If it was fully XP-10 optimized... -NR
  23. There isn't any high-res (I.E. One-foot scale) imagery for the area of either of the aforementioned airports. I prefer how X-P10 looks over any "Urban" orthos. Mountains on the other hand, can look great with a high quality orthoscenery. -NR
  24. Nope, these sceneries are for XP-10 and converted NAIP orthos don't really look that good with all the processing that has to be done. I've tried some, but they never look quite right. I use orthoimagery purely for reference since there is no good default apt.dat for many of the sceneries I've done. Way easier than cross-referencing to google earth.
