  1. Thanks! And now I put two and two together and realize you ARE Oliver..... I should be ready to fire this baby off to you tomorrow. Just got to get one more little thing figured out and she'll be good to go. Thanks for getting pics! They help a lot. Later, Steve
  2. By the way, Pilotman, I've got to redo the pinstripes and then, maybe, just maybe I might make it available....... :
  3. Okay, had a request from Oliver to paint the Duchess like this Seneca....so I did it. I also changed the upholstery and panel colors to go with the livery a little better. Still have some work to do on it, but it's looking good. Here's the real world Seneca And the LES Duchess....I love this plane!! That'll keep you busy viewing! Off to post them on the org!! :
  4. Holy cow, NO! That's a lot more work than I'm willing to put in right now. Actually, with the Mooney I did redo the interior. I changed the upholstery and carpet from blue to brown to go with the exterior better. Is that what you meant?
  5. Duh....um...I just don't know.....I think he was playing Regis.....
  6. Whether payware or freeware, when I get a plane I plan on flying a lot, I like to personalize it by finding a real world counterpart to copy. I usually go to Flight Aware and a couple of online aircraft sales websites and find a livery I like and I paint my model accordingly and adopt the tail number. In the case of the Mooney, the Duchess and the Sundowner, changing the tail number plate on the panel was a bit more challenging than some of the previous models I have worked with. The Mooney didn't even have a tail number plate. So here's some shots of the real world Mooney I based my repaint on and a couple of screenies of my Mooney. Not exactly the same, but I think she's still purty! I've been flying her around Alaska to get to know her. I took the Sundowner out to the east coast and back to Montana last month. After I get back to Montana from Alaska, I'll be taking the Duchess down south for some extensive flight time.
  7. Pilotman, Tell me the tail number you want and the color you want and I'll see what I can do. There can't be two of these with the same tail number, right?
  8. Just a couple of shots of my Duchess and the KMPI scenery Simon is working on. Yes, I know....I should bump up my resolution and turn on pixel shading when I'm doing screenshots...but I think they still look pretty good.....
  9. Set your COM1 radio to the ATIS or AWOS frequency if you want to get weather and RWY information through X-Plane's ATC. Don't set it to the tower frequency or you will never be contacted. Also, if you want to use X-Plane's artificial ATC, you have to enter a flight plan by hitting your enter key and click on "file flight plan and enter the information required.
  10. That review is probably the best I have ever read! Thank you for your objectivity and especially thanks for the blurb discussing what you discovered by flying longer flights to properly test a new aircraft. Great job!
  11. Congratulations, Jacoba! You'll be living the dream!
  12. Uh-may-zeen!! In-freakin-credible!! Looking good! Can't wait!
  13. This is a work in progress...my repaint for my Duchess. Needs a little more work, but you get the idea.
  14. My problem with the Falco is that the avionics won't turn on. I recently purchased the Saitek Yoke, Switch Panel, Radio Panels and Multi Panel. Would those plugins have anything to do with the Falco avionics not working? I always start X-Plane cold and dark and go through engine startup procedures, however, tonight I loaded the Falco with engines running and it seemed to be fine, until the engine quit after a minute or two. I searched my drives to see if I had libCurl framework files on the drives. I found several files in the Library folder of my MacBook Pro. Not sure what to do from here with the Falco. As for the Corvalis, flies okay for a few minutes and then the engine dies. Would this be the external drive issue? Thanks for your help! Steve
  15. Cameron, Can you tell us how it was fixed? I have the same issue. I have not been able to fly my Corvalis for the same reason. Is it related to the possible external drive issue I have experienced with the MU-2B? Is there a work-around?
  16. It turns like a charm with rudder pedals and right and left toe brakes. Don't try to steer her with just rudder pedal. Gotta add the brakes like Capn said.
  17. I just did the latest X-Plane update to version 9.61rc2. I deleted my preferences and then ran a batch update in Airfoil Maker like Austin recommended. I'm actually seeing BETTER frame rates than rc1. Also, I've played with the pixel shader thing. With all pixel shading turned off my frame rates almost double. Thanks for that reminder!
  18. And you will note there are two places in each of the instruments.png documents where you will have to change the number. There are two different sizes of the tail number plate.
  19. I changed the tail number in the Sundowner and I assume I will do the same with the Duchess. Go to the objects folder in your Duchess folder. Open up the intruments.png file and you will see the tail number panels. Use Photoshop or some other image editing software to change the tail number. Find a similar font and you should have no problem changing the number. You'll have to repeat the process for the other stock livery if you want to change that number, too. If you want more detailed instructions, drop me a line.
  20. Even for us who have been flying for a while, the tutorial is a great tool. Thanks for your patience and instruction!
  21. At the risk of being yelled at, any word on the Mac version? I'm patiently awaiting the arrival......... :
  22. Well said....
  23. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I'll be working no my Duchess this weekend!
  24. A few Air Northwest pilots did a flight on NetFlight yesterday in our new Alaskan Air Service DHC-3 Otter. Had a good time even though the weather was not great for flying. Then again, that's the way Alaskan flying is. Here are a few screenshots from our flight. The Alaskan Air Service is a subsidiary of Air Northwest Virtual Airlines. Check us out at www.airnorthwest.org Cockpit view Flying with friends is fun All lined up Over and under PAJN departure Typical Alaskan weather
