  1. I smell a witch hunt on the horizon........
  2. You can download the real world manual and quick start manual http://www8.garmin.com/support/userManualAviation.jsp?market=1&subcategory=8&product=010-00139-11 I know it helped me a lot!
  3. Think about it......it may not have a "bite feature," but in my opinion, it definitely BITES!
  4. Merry Christmas one and all! I hope everyone gets their fill of family, friends and flight!
  5. Very well spoken, Merisi. In fact, that's pretty much what I wanted to express along with the other things I mentioned.
  6. I think it's called "caveat emptor"....... It's not just X-Plane payware that we buy and later regret. Every day, everywhere, someone is paying good money for crap. Some people choose to buy crap and others do it unwittingly. I've said it before, I don't think I've "lost" anything for buying a piece of crap X-Plane aircraft. I have learned from the experience and I can only hope my investment helps encourage the crap creator to improve the product. With that said, I would hesitate to buy from a known crapslinger. Those who choose to sell crap will not be around in the long run. The crowd always thins at the top. And another thought: I think it's sad that most of the developers of X-Plane aircraft and scenery are unpaid hobbyists sharing their time and talent. Although I am deeply grateful for their work, as a professional photographer who relies on my talent to make a living, it's hard to understand the "free" mentality. Some of the freeware we've seen lately indeed rivals some of the payware products. Why is it that only a few can make a buck or two on add-ons? I'm not suggesting that we all start charging for the personal repaints and personal airports we populate, but it has always struck me as strange. I even bought (paid real money) a virtual airline a few months ago and it boggles my mind to think there is no plausible, or acceptable, way to make it even pay for itself. Steve
  7. MMMMMMMMMMM!! Beautiful! I've actually been a passenger on one of those. Can't wait to fly one!
  8. I don't know that I have ever wanted an aircraft sooooo bad! What a beautiful job you've done!
  9. Please hurry with the Mac capability! Watched the videos and would love to join in.
  10. Jason's Pipers were the first payware investment I ever made. The Piper's are by far the best payware value around. They're some of my faves along with the Sundowner and the MU-2B.
  11. Great video, Keith! I've done that run on NetFlight with buddies at 400-500 kias and it's a blast! Good to see you on this forum. I think you'll find a good crowd here. Steve
  12. According to Dan, yes, the real Saratoga nav lights operate that way. I quote: "Believe me, I've done a fair bit of research and asking around, and as odd as it sounds, the Nav lights on the Saratoga are, indeed, on the same knob as the instrument back-lights. What I'm NOT sure of, is whether the instrument lights are on a fader. It COULD be that it's an "all-or-nothing" switch for both back-lights and Nav-lights, but I've implemented it this way for 2 reasons: 1.- I think it's very nice to HAVE an instrument lighting fader. 2.- I reasoned that the nav lights are probably going to be consuming several times more Amps than the instrument lights. Therefore, it's most likely that the instrument lights are on a low-amp switch, and the nav lights are turned on via a relay at the end-position of the instrument lights switch. If this is incorrect, I'll have to change that for the next release." Straight from the source....
  13. Here's a shot of my plugins folder. Make sure you have all the plugins for Saitek installed. Here's a shot of my plugins folder: Of course, I'm on a Mac. Make sure you have the appropriate plugins for your platform.
  14. I LOVE 2D cockpits. Only recently, because of the Sundowner, have I started flying with 3D. I am still mostly in 2D mode. I sure hope you developer/designer guys keep doing 2D as well as making 3D easier to use.
  15. I agree that the Cessna 152 is a better investment than the Avro. I still think the Avro is an okay buy. When I buy payware, I look at my purchase as an investment in the creator and not just a one time purchase. There are a lot of things Andreas could have done better with the RJ100, but I'm willing to "invest" in Andreas so he can continue working on his projects.
