Hi J_Will, those are some impressive renders and a real credit to your modelling skills! I would pay for any one of these or all of them if that was the case, I love the Deperdussin, and the Bede 5J (or the prop version....), the J was used in a James Bond film that I saw many years ago.....had Roger Moore in it, quick wee thing. I believe as you say that the J is still doing circuits in the displays. Anyway, really looking forward to seeing these in the sim and hope you sort out the issues with the Deperdussin flipping. DC3.....and then the Saab I guess A 777 would nice but anything with props would be better.....especially a commuter of some type -
Hi Goran, yup, Im sold. Slainte, Andy

Hi Mid7night, great to see you on here defending your product. I havent bought it but am tempted as a few of my friends used to fly A4's in the RNZAF. One question.....what 3d pakage did you use to make the obj model? The reason I ask is that you would have had to have set the uv's for texturing. Using these uv's you can then set up the 3d program to make an Ambient Occlusion (big words that mean a shadow baked texture map), map. Its a seperate map that has to be combined in a graphics edting package (I use photoshop...), with the colour texture map you made. I use Maya so I have no idea how easy it is to use blender or AC3d, if these are the packages you use. Look forward to hearing from you.....and once I have paid off my credit card who knows, there might be an A4 in the hangar Slainte. Andy

hehehe, tell Theo that.....he does have to "texture" it afterall looking fantastic "Big G" ! Andy - awaiting with baited breath the next round of screenshots

dont know about reviewing.....but I'll definately be a customer, as I have already been Looking forward to the usual updates on this one.....I love piccies Great to hear that Theo is on the ball already in regard to the texturing.....with "T" on board I know it will be a visual feast for the eyes!!!! Hi WombatBoy, so we can expect a *new* X-1 to come ouot someday?? Looking at the various screenshot posts I am constantly amazed at the quality of modelling coming out. Even though these are in house renders (by that I mean renders taking from inside the modelling package), they still translate really well into X-Plane models with very little loss of quality. I love this site and the members here as well......and thank god for X-Plane, if it didnt mature as quickly as it has ( I have been using XP since ver.7), I would still be stuck in upgrade hell trying to fly the latest MSFS addon!!!! Slainte, Andy

Hi WombatBoy, ahhh, that makes sence now.....I dont need the plugin, I have enough trouble getting decent frame rates as it is now let alone actually wanting to lower them! I am just happy to know that they are doing thier best to give us (for a small charge anyway...), a "flagship" aircraft that will be seen and commented on by all flight simmers, not just those who fly X-Plane. They have raised and set the bar for payware developers.....hard part is keeping it there! Cheers for the quick reply. Slainte, Andy NZCH

Hi Ben, can you explain why you would drop the frame rate intentionally? I thought everyone was trying to get as much FPS as possible? If the system runs better and more flawlessly at lower frame rates then I can understand as it might take some pressure of the video card? Slainte, Andy NZCH

Sorry for the weird question, I use Maya 2010...can I export to wavefront OBJ and then use WED to place in a scenery, or do I have to learn blender? Slainte, Andy NZCH

My thoughts goes to Japan and every one else struck by the tsunami
Gjalp replied to OlaHaldor's topic in General Discussion
Hi Capnsully, the world is getting weird.....first the shake in NZ last September, then the floods in Queensland, another 2 shakes here and now Japan! What next?? Thanks for your thoughts, they are much appreciated. I wonder if we need to send some of those chemical toilets back to Japan? I noticed on the web that the first casualty in the States has been found... a guy went to the beach to take some photos and got swept awayby the Tsunami that hit there thismorning (?). Take Care evryone. Slainte, Andy NZCH -

As some of you know I live in Christchurch, we had a small shake but nothing as serious as Japan. My wife is Japanese an she took our daughter over there after the last shake here. I managed to get her on Skype and she and the family are fine but the quake has really taken its toll both physically and mentally. All of Japan seems to be on edge but are well trained in these situations as Japan gets quite a few earthquakes a year. Well, back to watching the news on telly. Slainte. Andy NZCH -
OMG!!!!! Credit ready......just extract as much funds as you need and send acf to me when ready! This is gonna be a great year for commuter fans like myself. Slainte, Andy

Im all for a good DC3, I have been flying Hienz's version ever since I got it......heck, even paid for the updated 9 version! Since you have already made a huge start on the DC3 why not finish it and then maybe do a 1900d?? I call it best of both worlds But thats just me Slainte, Andy NZCH

Hi guys, there is a click spot located on the bottom of the upper panel.....its hard to get to sometimes as if you go too far up yo get the default drop dowm menu for X-Plane. The only problem I have with the overhead is that it isnt the complete overhead. You the basics for start up and fuel lights etc but no hydralics panel.... Still, worth having in the hangar as it is a nice plane..... Hope that helps, Slainte, Andy NZCH

1900d!!!! 1900d!!!! 1900d!!!! 1900d!!!! 1900d!!!! 1900d!!!! 1900d!!!! 1900d!!!! 1900d!!!! 1900d!!!! 1900d!!!! or the DC3, Im easy Slainte, Andy NZCH

A B1900d would be great!!! The only payware version I know of, and have in my hangar, is the STMA version. Its a 1900c (cargo model), made in v8 but works in v9. Its showing its age though.....but still fun to fly. Maybe its time the commuters got an airing.....plenty of heavy metal for the heavy junkies out there.....what about us commuters???? Slainte, Andy NZCH

HI Samen, same here.....main.obj file fails on unzipping. Looking forward to flying this one..... Slainte. Andy NZCH

Hi Dozer, Ah, that might be it.....the review never really stated what "systems" were left out. The circuit breakers might be useful....so I have been told They only put one picture of the "pit" and left it at that.....although from what I could see it didnt look that inspiring. back when I was running FS9 full time I stayed away from ABACUS for a reason, they werent that flash. I had a few PMDG planes but most of the planes i ahd I picked from the exhaustive list of freeware planes available. my favourite was the Hughes H-500 (it looked a lot like the D18s....), sounded great and came with a very nice 2d panel. It had a 3d pit but that really sucked and ate FPS like it was on a rampage!!! Still, have been flying XP since ver 7 and have never looked back.....tempted though, but not enough to leave a great sim! Slainte, Andy NZCH

What systems modelling has been added to it? Manipulators etc?? I was reading the latest PCPilot and they were reviewing the Pits S-1, payware of course, for FSX. I was thinking to myself "I might get FSX just for the planes as they are very nice looking and there are more to chose from..." then I kept reading. It seems they have released a payware aircraft with "almost all switches and controls working" and I thought to myself again....why would you release a plane with only some parts working? Unless the simulator cannot actually model the functionality of these items (programming coding restraints etc...), then why would you not put them in. The article said they had access to the pilot (Adrian Mardlin...),and his personal aircraft etc, and he flight tested it and said it had his approval (my words in this part not the magazines...). Dont get me wrong, some payware for FSX / FS9 do actually include as much as they can to give the overall experience, but US$37.55 for an aerobatic aircraft with a simple "pit" (the Pitts dosent really have a complicated pit so shouldnt be too hard to get everything working...even in 3d...), with only "some switches and controls working?" This is more freeware than payware in my opinion. This is what I like about XP and X-Aviation in particlular.....if it is there and can be used in the sim it will be (Im still popping curcuits in the Falco....must be my flying style.....), included. Anyway, enough of my rant for this morning.....merry christmas and happy new year to all. Slainte, Andy NZCH

Hi Samen, once that is all done will ou posting a link from here or do I have to go to the "other" place and download there? Slainte, Andy NZCH
