Now that's an interesting debate. Don't worry, I'll quickly go back to the state of non-vocal random Linux user. I must tell that I'm very happy with X-Plane and Linux and I can live without a few products missing from my hangar. As long as some developers builds excellent Linux compatible aircrafts. And that's the case. I have even more gratitude towards them. While you seem very focused on the ROI, I'm wondering if you're not missing some part of the picture. Sim enthusiast are very passionate (you are as well, for sure). And you won't be able to refrain a few people from saying bad things when they feel excluded. Please don't misunderstand me: this is not a threat. I personnally won't do that. Instead, I'll support the others developers. But I'm not sure whether you take into account all these long term, less quantifiable effects. Pascal

Thanks for the advice, I did read the thread indeed. Although some days ago and forgot about the suggestion from Ugly Dwarf. But that doesn't exactly explain why Ben changed the title. Please let me ask him. Maybe it's just for fun, then it's ok. But if it's for making fun out of someone, it's not ok. Anyway, I was initially hurt to see this title change. this one: 46% is a pretty high relative number. But, I've never ever heard that one can interpret a poll's result with absolute numbers. Also, I've never heard that you can interpret a poll with a different question than what the people originally voted for. Namely, "how many Linux users are there around" instead of "What area of Gizmo would you like to see improved the most?" At most, I can accept that the 46% figure is not really significant given the low total of votes. That's all. No. Trying to make us responsible for being "few" is barely credible. Pascal

May I ask you, Ben Russel, why you changed the title of this thread with an injurious stance ? And may I point to the fact that, contrary to your interpretation, the results of this poll shows that a large majority of voters think that Linux support should be the next focus of Gizmo's developement. 46% exactly. With the next wanted feature (particle effects) coming at barely 17%. Either support Linux or don't support Linux. But don't try to make us responsible for that. This is barely credible. Pascal

Very much excited by this plane.
-
FYI, Vmax is the producer of the aircraft. And Vmax is Nicolas Taureau. http://www.corporationwiki.com/Florida/Tallahassee/vmax-flight-llc/28788860.aspx From my understanding, Nicolas got the licensing from Boeing for the 757, 767 and 777 and delegated work to developers. Pascal

An X-Plane newbie becoming uneasy with X-Plane 10
PascalL replied to OldAirmail's topic in I'm New To X-Plane!
You're welcome ! Nice to hear that you like to fly in Switzerland, that's where I live. BTW, I often fly in the US FYI in the (I hope) near future X-Plane will have an infrastructure for airports to be crowdsourced. When this happens, the airport base included by default should grow very fast. Pascal -

Keflavik International Airport (BIKF) for X-Plane 10

And here are some well written answers to Avsim's "honest" review : http://forum.avsim.net/topic/364131-ms-flight-i-gave-them-the-benefit-of-the-doubt-i-really-did/ Ok, by now (or since a long time), we know it's a game. I have no problem with that. But, is it even a good game ? Frankly, I'm awaiting some reviews from gamers, not simmers trying to positive the experience of being taken without care by Microsoft (yes I mean that! ).

Woaw, this is worse than I thought: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpost.php?p=395288&postcount=13 http://forum.avsim.net/topic/364126-found-something-i-dont-like-in-flight/ To be fair, I didn't try it, but seeing the screenshots and video (even the better ones), I'm shocked. I thought MS would be able to show something really good for such a limited region. Also, this must be kept in perspective with the fact that nobody else than MS will be able to correct mistakes. Approximations are ok in an open and worldwide simulator. That's cheap, that's really cheap !

Fabulous model Javier ! I like turboprops, and we need some diversity in X-plane too ! Cheers ! Pascal

February 29, 2012 - MS Flight Release
PascalL replied to zoltron_rulez's topic in General Discussion
Now, that's a good idea ! Why didn' Microsft think of that ? Oh wait, it's not out yet, maybe they did ! Have a Greeeed day ! -
Sorry, Cameron, I have no idea what this quote, as absurd as it is, has to do in the middle of this conversation. Just as the discussion seems to become more constructive ! Could you be more clear, please ?
