  1. Are you sure? Ben purchased a new Macbook in July...it's an i5 quad core. Everything I can find pretty much suggests that Dual Core Macbook Pro's were no longer available as of April of last year. Are you sure? Everything I can find pretty much suggests that you can't get a Macbook with a i5 quad core. ;D ;D ;D
  2. Thanks sir, I'm looking forward to finally being able to fly a Horizon CRJ-700! ;D
  3. Quiet here means the work is going on elsewhere; on things other than posts to keep you updated every second of the day...
  4. *cough* Final Frontier too *cough* I still haven't bought any of your work, but I enjoy following your advancements in scenery technology and am looking forward to buying some of your scenery soon.
  5. The 4th shot is simply stunning. What kind of equipment do you use?
  6. If you need more fps, you can load up X-Plane in a lower resolution, switch to a higher, open the plane, then turn it back down.
  7. I believe he already did that: Could the installation location on a Mac cause any problems?
  8. Convert the document to plain text before changing the filename.
  9. Thanks very much Simon; these are certainly a huge contribution to the X-Plane community, especially for those who use Sketch-up or are looking for the easiest way into .obj creation. I'm looking forward to giving it another go myself when I find some time.
  10. Glad to see you're thinking like this Tom. I still don't like clicking and dragging switches because I think that flipping a switch uses the same amount of brain power as pressing a button, especially if the switch is simply on/off. Throttles, flaps, mixture, etc. are the only things I would consider using for click and drag as they have an "infinite" amount of possible positions, as does a click and drag function. Nonetheless I'm simply happy with you taking the time to think these things through, it's often the little things like this that can really make a plane great.
  11. Finally, proof that the A380's systems are bugged! ;D

    747-8 launch

Absolutely better looking than the A380... stunning! Hope they get more orders so we can see more of these beauties in the skies.
  13. Tried GIMP a couple years ago after my ancient PSE2 stopped working but went to PSE6 after it arrived in the mail. I'd certainly be up for giving it another try. However, I do like photo-real repaints much better than vector-based ones, so until I really need to switch to vector (paint detail eclipses photo detail, already happening) I'd like to stick to PSE. I'll get GIMP on my Windows computer as I don't have PSE there, maybe that will help with the eventual transition.
  14. It's a sad deal for us repainters that Photoshop Elements doesn't have a pen tool, that's the sole reason I still do photoreal paints. Maybe one day I'll find the money to get a full version...
  15. I can't do 3D work to save my life, but I'd gladly do any research and/or apt.dat work for a project like this. Would be very cool to see, though I'd imagine it to be quite difficult to coordinate.

Right, take time out of development to make a video… that makes so much sense!
  17. Texture application would be great and is most definitely the most difficult part of sketch-up, though I would like to see the whole process, along with some hints or tips you may have that you have learned form having many hours in the program. Again a video would be wonderful, it wouldn't even have to be narrated. I can only speak for myself of course, but I learn very well just by watching... and sketch-up is simple enough that one could figure out the "why" by themselves. I don't know how long it took you to make something like the X-Aviation shed you posted earlier, but that seems like it would be ideal for a tutorial. Thanks.
  18. Hi Simon, Do you still use google sketch-up? I think it would be great if you wrote a little tutorial or made a video of how you create your scenery… right now I think we have a distinct lack of tutorials for sketch-up because it's only used for scenery design. As it's probably the easiest to use application for scenery design, it would seem to be a natural starting point for those of us wanting to try making our own stuff. Would you be up for trying a tutorial?
  19. With you on that one my friend! I don't know about anyone else, but I happen to fly from the cockpit…

    Project 3

Do you have any idea how long I was waiting for someone to ask that question?! In some cases, yes. But Theo being Theo, wants to add "character". (Remember the cracked LCD glass on the Sundowner?) Check out the nose. There are quite a few of them with misaligned paint on the radome covers. I'm assuming they take from other NW Saabs and "transplant". That's the kind of detail I love to see! Thanks Theo and Goran, I'm looking forward to making this my first purchase from X-Aviation.
  21. Not the best way to word that for the point you're trying to make... :-\
  22. Also make sure the image address is a direct link to an image... so it should end it a .jpg or .png (etc.). Just to clarify Indi-'s instructions.
  23. Keep us updated Simon, I have many friends and family in and around the Brisbane area. Stay safe.
  24. See if you can find anything on it in here: http://home.earthlink.net/~x-plane/FAQ-Flying.html
