This isn't really a true statement. It can be used in ANY aircraft with the included aircraft installer. What it can't do is inject itself into a 3D panel of someone else's 3D work. In these situations you will be limited to a 2D panel.
You need the original 3D assets from an aircraft author (or ideally for the aircraft author to adopt support) in order for 3D panel support. So, to be more direct to you, no, we should not be hacking other peoples' assets and offering more options. If the license of another product allows, you can try your hand at that yourself, or you can discuss it with an aircraft author you like.
We support 5 out of the box with full 3D integration. The Beechcraft Sundowner was added to the list for v2.
