Hi, Scott, I can see that you have LIT files in your folder. Can you verify you have non-LIT dds files as well? Do you know how to CHMOD using the terminal application? If so, can you CHMOD all of those DDS files and the folders associated to 0755?

reply to Michael2 in the .Org (and others same way)
Cameron replied to Japo32's topic in General Discussion
Unfortunately, you cannot please everyone. Michael is a fellow from Sweden, and a customer of X-Aviation from 2010. I have dealt with Michael through e-mail customer support when he purchased a Duchess from us. He downloaded it, tried to install it, and then sent an e-mail to X-Aviation customer support stating that "the problem with the beechcraft is that it seems to be made for mac only. what do i do now?" He was politely replied to, explaining that the product he ordered was actually for Mac, Windows, and Linux, of which he decided to reply to with a statement that he now has "got something on my computer that i cant use." I then followed up his e-mail with a reply trying to solve the issue. It appeared to me that he may have possible had an incomplete download, or somehow deleted files by accident that came with the file originally. He then provided me with the file size and files included in his download, and quickly followed up in less than 24hrs with the following reply: "i guess you has stopped your enquiry now here i am with a worthless beech duches that i paid 27 dollar for you dont want any customers do you?" I quickly followed up to him, explaining that he was sending me multiple e-mails and becoming upset for not getting a followup e-mail in less than a day. I also informed him that I felt his download was incomplete, and that I had happily reset his download link for him. He chose to respond with this: remember the customer is always right. i wouldnt hire you as an salesman that is for sure. you need to learn to ignore rude behavior. im sorry but being rude to you has proven to be an effective strategy to get things done and yes i promise i will take my business somewhere else in the future. suggestion use the same kind of zip file that is used for the technam p-92 without any fancy installer they only make people confused. simplicity always wins btw i found the windows installer in my main payware folder cheers michael So: 1. He admitted to being rude, and thought it was effective (it really had no bearing). 2. He ended up finding the file he claimed never existed without even having to re-download, meaning that his original support request technically was "pointless" to begin with. All in all, you cannot please everyone. I am sorry that Michael feels his experience with X-Aviation was less than satisfactory, and wish I COULD please everyone. That said, I understand reality and that there are different personalities in this world. The best thing I can do is try my best to help our customers out, and regardless of how they feel I will ALWAYS help them. When it comes to customer support, I do not ignore, skimp, or degrade the quality of service provided. It is VERY important to me, and thankfully we have a good reputation following us. Examples of such are here (and many examples spread elsewhere in these forums): http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=689.msg19723#msg19723 I wish Michael the best, and hope he reconsiders his position someday. In the meantime, I will continue to focus on our customers and products and keep on providing the best support/services I possibly can! Blue skies, all! Cameron ------------------------------------------ I have put this to rest a while back. Perhaps you missed said post: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=287.msg19460#msg19460 -
Do you mean DDS and not DSS? There's a problem if they are "DSS." I believe this may be a permissions issue with the 7z executable. That, or the permissions are getting lost on the 7z files, and luckily your 7z unzipping program is restoring such UNIX permissions to allow you to unzip. My suggestion is: Use that third party program you downloaded, expand the .001 file. This will expand .004 from there automatically. Move the resulting unzipped folder (should be something like 'Reno') to your X-Plane/Custom Scenery folder. You'll also note an overlays zip file. Do the same for this zip file as well. Doing this is the manual way to install the scenery, and should work well.

Stan, I would still be skeptical of your install. If your CRJ was in your heavy metal folder, then you improperly installed this aircraft. You should have selected your MAIN X-Plane directory for install, and NOT your heavy metal folder. I suggest you run the CRJ uninstall application and re-install from scratch. Best Regards, Cameron

[SOLVED] CRJ 200 Avionics/Autopilot problems.. Help!
Cameron replied to schutt's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
Schutt, All of your questions are covered in the manual, especially the flight tutorial manual. Please take the time to properly read and follow this tutorial. Doing so should prove you to have no problems if carefully read. -
Scott, Is there any chance you can utilize a 7zip unzip program and run it on that .001 file to see if it unzips that way? I'm thinking this is more along the lines of permissions or space.

Stan and Magic, Are you sure you selected the main X-Plane directory and not an aircraft folder for install? Can you verify that you do not have multiple plugin type folders in your X-Plane/resources folder (like plugins disabled)?

As others have indicated, too high a speed will contribute to an oscillated climb above any altitude you've selected to be held.

[SOLVED] CRJ-200 installed then x-plane crashed
Cameron replied to Hover's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
No promises here. We will see what happens. That said, I highly recommend the upgrade! Better display drivers, WAY less hard drive space (meaning you get more back for more apps or files), and a VERY cheap upgrade at that! -
Please do not triple post in multiple threads.

[SOLVED] Conflict with DreamFoil's Bell 206
Cameron replied to Hueyman's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
The file is too large to be sending by email. I will upload the file to X-Aviation and give the link to Javier as an alternate download link for him to put on his webpage. You'll still need to go to his site to get it once it's up. -
Carlos, 1. Sounds like you do not have the alt pre-set correctly (please carefully follow the tutorial) 2. Be sure you are selecting the correct nav source (also in the tutorial) for the route to follow. If you do not have the correct nav source selected, intercepting the route will do nothing but go right through it.

Ok, It does not work for me if directly linking to it, however, if you go here: http://www.jrollon.com/Matacan.html Scroll down to the Download icon, and click that...it should work just fine (works fin here). Let me know if you still have problems, and if so, I'll make a link from X-Aviation for you. -

Soon. Release dates are not given for various reasons. Disappointment being one of them. You'll get an update e-mail when it's released. -

I would help you with this, but I'm also having the same issue. Javier will be with you shortly! -
Yes and no. The aircraft itself will not be much different really. However, X-Plane 10 will demand more resources, and as such your hardware may perform a bit slower than with X-Plane 9. This is all subjective, however, as if you have some of the latest hardware out there you shouldn't see big issues.

[SOLVED] Conflict with DreamFoil's Bell 206
Cameron replied to Hueyman's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
This is likely related to the same issue with FSUIPC and the x737 and will probably be addressed in the upcoming patch. Philipp will have the final word, so check back soon! -
Perry, I've just tested the CRJ with the HD 6750M on the Macbook Pro 15.4 inch. It's a 1GB graphics card, and the configuration I tested on is here: 2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 4GB 1333MHz 750GB 5400-rpm1 Intel HD Graphics 3000 AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB GDDR5 With the above setup, X-Plane and the CRJ with extreme res settings runs at a solid 70 fps, incredibly smooth avionics, and wonderful textures.
