Hydraulic Pressure Warning Light, Stuck On.
Cameron replied to Chuckfops's topic in ATG Javelin Support
You misunderstood. The Javelin has no plug-ins. All systems are 100% controlled by Laminar/X-Plane itself. This was also explained to you in an e-mail. As Javier is also a part of the Laminar team I am sure he too will dig a bit deeper into this and get with the creators to find a solution on the light itself. Other than this, I can not find other affected areas of flight. I personally just test flew this aircraft between two points in X-Plane 10.2 without a hitch, both during takeoff and landing. Stopping was easily had with the assistance of breaks. As Javier has already explained to you in an e-mail, please also be sure to double check that your flight model per second setting in X-Plane is at 2 or higher. -
I knew something smelt "fake" about this guy named "Stent" and his writing style. He used to famously go by the name of "Fake Austin" as so many of you will remember. Cross referencing his information here with the old username he had produces a 100% match (same IPs). As FakeAustin was previously banned here, so too is Stent as of this moment. Furthermore, there is a strong resemblance in writing to past forum member Wetted Area, whom was banned here as well after going rather "nuts" on numerous individuals. As if that that's not coincidental enough, Wetted Area and FakeAustin/Stent have IP locations within miles of one another. Perhaps a work vs home situation, with FakeAustin and Stent being utilized at home. In any case, Stent is now banned.

I suppose we should add the same info here as we did on FaceBook... The short is: We've gone through multiple re-do's of NORCAL over the last couple of years. Ultimately this makes the product better and ensures longevity after you purchase it. That said, that has not been the only stumbling block! We also re-wrote our entire back-end system, our entire cross platform downloading software/installer (which grabs the files from cloud servers after purchase and installs them automatically for you), added Linux, and optimized our automation scripts. Now we've been showing off these daily teasers with the hopes of showing our completeness of the product. Unfortunately, when 64-bit came out it actually broke the scenery by way of scenery tile alignments and we have been working with Ben Supnik on a fix. As we rely on some tools produced by Laminar to get this done, we are now in a holding pattern while Ben Supnik re-writes some buggy code in MeshTool to correct the issues we have found in 64-bit. The downside to this is it takes time, and uncontrollable time at that. The upside is you weren't able to purchase this product only to have to re-download gigabytes of data in a patch all over again.

Oh, brother. The kids are out. I'm not covering anyone's ass, including my own. It wasn't me you were questioning integrity about in the first place. Sounds credible.

Seems simple enough: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=65925

Yes, they are. What you would hope to believe as something unbelievable sadly does happen there. That mindset of "na, can't be" is honestly a big part of the problem. And, while even Steven "likes" your post he should know better as well. That said, while majority are not banned for something so simple, a number are banned for something others would not even consider offensive, wrong, or even challenging. For that matter, you're calling someone you don't know a liar. You'll have access to that section you've been seeking soon enough if the subject interests you so. Luckily, you didn't have to buy anything. It was free.

I take it you meant to say TropicalSim?
-
This is primarily at the discretion of the crew and the current flight configuration they are in. Some like to come in high, some low, and so long as you're within valid speed ranges then gear may be deployed as a mechanism for drag.

I can't say I know the quality, but you may want to consider this: http://secure.simmarket.com/tropicalsim-washington-national-kdca-x-plane-10.phtml

I believe this was FSDT. It's been too long for me to remember.

Newbie Silly Question - Whats up with the MACOSX
Cameron replied to Fortkentdad's topic in General Discussion
I assume you mean the folder sometimes found in zips? These are just system files created in an archive by the Mac OS system. This would occur if someone happened to zip the file up on Mac. You can go ahead and ignore this folder and its contents. -
Welcome aboard, and thanks for the intro!

How to mix and match custom scenery for optimal results?
Cameron replied to captain420's topic in General Discussion
As I do not have the add-on you speak of and it is not a part of our package, I am unsure as to why your load order is having issues. OSM2XP overlays seem to work fine over Oahu. Sorry I couldn't conclude this for you! -

We may revisit this in the future, as Hawaii has received great reception from our customers.

How to mix and match custom scenery for optimal results?
Cameron replied to captain420's topic in General Discussion
RealScenery does not come with autogen. It does come with road data, however, and you may rid of that in the Oahu overlays folder in your Custom Scenery folder. The issue with airport alignment is more complex. Our scenery has been adjusted for real world placement and alignment. You'll see in the overlays folder is the airport data file which contains the taxiway layout information. I really don't think there's an easy way to deal with that part of the issue you are seeing with the exception of going into a tool like overlay editor and moving your Oahu buildings around. -
NORCAL Scenery Preview - January 16th, 2013
Cameron replied to Cameron's topic in Northern California
Sorry, Tom, This product already has gone through color adjustments and leveling on a very big level. It is done, and it looks fantastic in sim! If you do not agree then that is okay! My comments were not up for debate, and you are very much so reading way farther into them than they were ever intended to be interpreted. As someone who grew up in this region and frequented the area, as well as flew around almost the entire map of coverage when receiving my pilot credentials, I am quite confident and pleased with what is coming forth, as to are the others involved in development. Again, it obviously does not cater to you, and that's okay. Not being able to please everyone is a fact of life. We will easily be able to please the majority and that's what we're after. Thanks! -
Great! All is well in the X-Plane world!

Not sure I see the sense in this post? There's no rule that states you have to choose this site or the other, and most people here visit the org as well. Of course, there's a vocal group who have also been kicked from the there (naturally you won't see their posts at the org), but having multiple places to discuss our hobby is a good thing for everyone in the community. There's a distinguished line between disliking the site and disliking management. Complaints come from the management, not the existence of the site or the wonderful people in the X-Plane community, which is why we care. The org serves a great purpose, regardless of disagreements.
-
That's more along the lines of what I was thinking, and is precisely what we just went through here. Hopefully they have similar backup measures in place like we do. It gets tough when servers contains such large amounts of content.
-
Interesting tools, Carlos. Unfortunately they don't solve this particular problem, but cool to know those exist.
-
What developer is that?
-
Keep it on topic. The org is down. Take the rest to PM.
-
Avsim is there, just REALLY slow. I hope for the sake of the entire community it comes back, and I'm sure it will.

You'd need to create your own mesh with a geotiff and apply a shapefile to the entire area of the DSF being created. Unfortunately, you'll be stuck with a V9 mesh until Laminar updates MeshTool.
