My recommendations to start things out (you can increase or decrease as you please after seeing what this yields): 1. Number of objects = Two levels lower 2. World detail distance = Medium 3. Water = Low or medium setting...there's is NOT much noticeable difference in these settings, but complete really is heavy on resources for little gain (if any). 4. Change shadows to Overlay and then work your way up from there.
-
You're almost assuredly running into some GPU fill issues here. Your object settings are crazy high, your airport detail is unnecessarily high, your shadow level doesn't help it, and your water reflection selection is a killer too. Topping this with more to load on your GPU is causing a choke. As for what each setting does...the manual in the plug-in folder will explain it all.

You'll want to go here: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showforum=121

Not a problem at all.

You'll need to use the forums for which you bought the product. These forums are related to the X-Aviation version, which uses a different activation method.

I believe we have discovered the issue here. It's no fault of Ben's, but actually mine for pre-maturely including some files that may be contributing to this. My apologies...we'll be working on a fix as quick as possible!

Apparently you don't have a clue as to what you're talking about. That file was approved more than two weeks ago...

Small one's that we don't deem entirely necessary to hold out for a full new update with. Something as small as the brake issue warranted such a hotfix. We will not be making a habit of issuing every little bug fix with this feature. It's important we keep consistency across users' platforms to streamline support issues, and ultimately these types of things become confusing for many users. 3D model changes are not a part of the hotfix system. Yes, this is possible. Things like this would also require object updates, so this is not a part of the hotfix setup.

You'll need to apply it to each variant.

Hi Joe, You have the right idea. Simply write us an email after purchase and we'll open up more slots.

We all have our opinions on how things are run both here and there, and I encourage folks to enjoy our hobby as best you possibly can knowing what you know as you form your own opinion. The org certainly serves a purpose, and we're happy to say that X-Pilot does as well. Luckily, you as a user have a choice on where you'd like to visit on a daily basis, be it here, there, or both (and for those of you reprimanded for any reason you at least have other places to visit - I'm in that boat too). Keeping in mind what does or doesn't bother you, please consider what would be "healthier" for you as a choice of where to spend your minutes or hours and make the best of your valuable hobby time. No doubt, we all love X-Plane, and that's a common theme between the org and X-Pilot. It's easy to get fired up over this stuff, but ultimately we should not loose sight of the fact that it's important to enjoy it and the great people in the community that do exist above all. I think, for the most part, people have said all they need to here in this thread and for that reason I'm going to close it in hopes that we can start other healthier and happier discussions about our hobby. Cheers to all!

Hey Harry, Right now the gift voucher system is down for re-work. I've found bugs in the code that need fixing. In the meantime, to accommodate requests like yours, the proper way to go about it is to have you purchase the product, write us an e-mail, do not download or activate the purchase, and we will transfer the entire order to your recipients account.

It is a combination...very much like the installer for X-Plane, where it only updates the files needed, or...if you have no install it will do a full re-install. If you choose to do a re-install you will find an uninstaller in the X-Plane 10/X-Aviation folder. If your CPU is already maxing out (or GPU for that matter), then you may not stand to gain anything here. I have tested this on four office computers and thus far every one of them saw improvements (3 of the 4 were drastic improvement...16+ fps). HDR is also still heavier, and if you're GPU bound with HDR active then that will likely cause issue (though HDR is also greatly improved for those not GPU bound). So far the reaction to this has been quite positive, with tons of feedback on how much FPS improvement this update has produced for people. If you have a moment, I'd like to hear your system specs.

Hi Folks, It's been quite a while since we've had an update in here, and it's been a long road to get to this point. NORCAL has gone through multiple iterations, transitions, and ideas. On top of this, over the last year we have entirely re-worked the backbone of our delivery system to be more robust and be able to handle a package the size of NORCAL. One of the more common requests we have had over the years is for some form of autogen to be present with RealScenery products, and I'm happy to announce that starting with NORCAL we have a solution for this! RS Autogen utilizes our own autogen generating scripts and the X-Plane object library, combined with custom and default (depending on data matchup) autogen information to get it to line up properly over the imagery. This includes roads, buildings, and trees. Without a doubt, this adds a whole new level of immersion! I'm also happy to report that using this autogen with RealScenery allows for a better FPS value than with default X-Plane scenery. This ultimately allows you to crank up your autogen settings and enjoy the scenery to the fullest extent! I typically add photos here that fit within the width of the forum, but this time I am going to provide links to fuller sized images so you can get a feel for the objects over the imagery. The next steps now is our final upload and test of the files, as well as finishing up the organization and delivery of content to you as customers in how we will begin to now offer tiled areas instead of just the full package. Click the image links below, and I hope you enjoy what you see! Preview Image 1 Preview Image 2 Preview Image 3 Preview Image 4

Tell that to the multiple close friends I have who are openly gay and welcome in my own home at any time. I'm sure they'd dispute you in a second. I don't know anything about your "LGBT" V/A, but all the power to you. You were warned and asked multiple times to discontinue the cursing. You continued to antagonize after you were told not to, and thus you were banned for it. The truth isn't idiotic. The lies you're spreading are. It seems to me like you may need a little soul searching, Erik. I know you're a younger kid, but assuming people have hate towards you for who you choose to like or be as a person when others don't even know you for such things is not a good way to carry your life or your confidence. Own who you are and more people will respect you. That all said, none of this is an excuse for you to be welcomed back. Banned...again.

Your username is not very revealing so I don't know who you are, but assuming you have emails in they are answered in order received. Some days people decide it's a great day to send over 100 email requests about various things, other times not. You said "several" emails. This will always knock you down to the bottom of the reply chain. Keeping it to one will yield you a quicker reply.
-
Well written and agreed. Not sure why Ben Wolf would ever dislike such a post? Anyways, thanks for the maturity you bring into this topic, puffy. While there's fragmentation in our hobby, the best we can do is learn to love what we have and move forward. Things will sort themselves out down the road.
