Not to the level seen in screenshots, no. Atmospheric scattering takes some special rendering tricks to achieve, and thus is only available with HDR. The next best thing for you would be limited to sky colors that trick the eye, or even some kind of a plugin not currently available to alter things on the horizon.
-
Anything to do with raleigh and atmospheric scattering requires HDR, AJ.
-
Coming from the guy who asked if someone's name was "Dick?" Please heed your own advice. There's no need to take it where you did.
-
Where exactly were you trying to get with this? I'm not amused.
-
I understand that you're having a hard time seeing what I'm saying. That said, it does not change the answer I have already given, and it should be good enough for you to understand that while we appreciate the suggestion(s), we have had lengthy talks with Laminar over time, explored many options, and are awaiting more. Until then, expect no crazy changes in this scenario.
-
It would also be a brilliant way to kill frame rates. Again, when Laminar has solutions ready, we're ready.
-
There are plenty of topics in this forum regarding this. Part of it is a limitation of X-Plane and plug-in use in a scenario like this. The short and skinny: It is what it is until we get better access to things we need from Laminar.

Question regarding Display Control Panel Layout
Cameron replied to jkieffer1957's topic in Saab 340A
This aircraft is obviously not equipped or intended to be used with an FMC. As the displays and functionality are all custom coded and drawn to mimic the real 'A' variant aircraft without aftermarket additions, no type of GPS/FMC integration is present. You can certainly try XFMC, but we do not and cannot provide support for anything other than how this product is intended to work when sold and installed. -
[SOLVED] Reinstallation of DC3 went wrong
Cameron replied to jmiked's topic in Douglas DC-3 (no longer in use)
You either installed over an old copy and it failed to properly uninstall the old, or you installed an old version other than 1.4. Manually delete your current DC3 aircraft folder and run the installer again. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk -
If I remember right this is caused by the NOAA plugin. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

If accurate, this would certainly be a bug. We'll look into this!
-
Please test with HDR off as well. My bet is this is a rendering issue on Laminar's side in HDR mode.
-
Vincent, Please...you keep bringing back topics that are two years old. Do not do this.
-
Great!
-
You didn't have to wait several weeks anyhow. The installer was released at the same time.

To be clear, no one was suggesting editing any kind of files or even creating your own sky colors. SkyMaxx Pro comes with various color sets for you already. All you have to do is select them in the SkyMaxx Pro menu. Additionally, you may download other sky colors already made for X-Plane and install them into SkyMaxx Pro. Instructions on how to do this are included in the manual.

Play around with different sky color themes. Each one will have a role in how X-Plane decides to render colors on things like the clouds. Regardless of what you have "thought" about, there's plenty of flexibility given to you to not only change many settings, but sky colors (both your own, others, or those included). There's nothing to change here on our end if that's what you're questioning or seeking.
-
John has already pointed it out to you. Your crep. rays settings is set high enough that you are seeing unwanted artifacts on your end. Tone it down to a setting that better suits your liking.
-
Exactly as I said...it resets at each update. You are allotted your 3 per version. Going by your scenario and if it were how you expect it to be, you would be at 0 downloads remaining, but, because each update warrants a reset it only acts as if you have downloaded it ONE time. 3 minus 1 = 2.
-
Not true. It resets at every update.
