  1. Quick update: Manuals will be going online today (April 23rd, 2011) USA EST. I will post another update here when such has happened. When these manuals are released, it is encouraged that you download and read through them. There is a lot to digest and understand about this product, as it's no walk in the park to operate. It will be imperative that you learn the procedures outlined in the manuals in order for this aircraft to work. Coming soon! 20 of 24 hours uptime here work wise...time for some sleep! See you in the skies....soon!
  2. Should be "stated." Your comments state otherwise unless it is good feedback. I stand by my statement about criticism. You're doing a good job of demonstrating my point clearly at the moment. Maybe you should read more some time. First looks vs reviews. Time of night, and reasonings for a post. It would probably help you out. Birds. Their songs travel near and far. I think you just contradicted yourself though. You just tried to tell me you didn't push a request, but then suggested if I know such things I must be "pulling the string." For one you're wrong, but again, you're helping to prove my point... I think you meant simply. Anyhow, I find their first look pretty fair. Pretty well written compared to most reviews I find in a magazine at that. Great. Have pride. People don't agree with you.
  3. It's rather bold. I don't agree with much of it. Seems rather silly to me of you to question a persons integrity after requesting them so feverishly to review your product. Comes with the territory. Welcome to payware. This arena is not for you if you cannot handle criticism. And? Clearly irrelevant in the flight model department.
  4. I think you meant to say "not" satisfied with...as in you're a happy camper. That said, you must know a secret. There's been some debate on the flight model front thus far. http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2011/04/22/fly-j-sim-dash-8-q400-a-quick-look-around-and-some-first-impressions/
  5. Rest assured we're all pulling ridiculous hours to get this done. There's slightly more than the installers and webpage to do, but it's all irrelevant in the end. You'll know when it's out. We'll make it pretty hard to miss.
  6. Consumer interest.
  7. Reserved for baby Teo (baby Javier)! ;D
  8. Considering Bombardier assists with such an install, I'm not sure how pilots have much to do with anything.
  9. Go! (Mesa) most certainly DID remove the seats and have the extra tanks installed. Saw it with my own eyes inside of the aircraft on multiple occasions.
  10. The seats are actually removed and fuel tanks are placed internally to accomplish the longer delivery flights. Go! (Mesa) did this with their CRJ's headed to Hawaii.
  11. Last I heard from Javier, he had a rather extravagant vacation planned. He's pretty excited about it, as you can see: God speed, Javier! You are one cool cat!
  12. Works fine here. Need a fast connection for 1080p though.
  13. Topic can be continued here: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=2014.0
  14. Hi, All, A new video has been released for the CRJ. This video is more of a celebration that the final approach is underway, and we've been cleared to land. Right now we are going through the final checklists and working on webpages, installers, and tests. No final date announced, but I can tell you it will be VERY soon, so get ready and save those pennies! :-p As usual, we'll be back here to let you know when the product hits the shelves. In the meantime, enjoy this celebration of completion like we are!
  15. While this would be nice and may be looked at in with the future, it is also not a high priority item. Our products do not run on any mobile iOS device, whereas a PC and Mac are different stories (which the website and galleries are compatible with). Perhaps some day. Not now.
  16. Thanks again, Jack! This does not sound like "augmented navigational information" to me. It sounds like knob logic by way of datarefs. I understand what you are doing and why, but to the customer here it sounded a bit more sophisticated than you have just outlined (as in some form of actual navigational data was being altered), so I appreciate the clarity here. I now see that such is not the case. Sounds good. I can appreciate anything that simplifies generic load. I guess my confusion was further stemmed from your and Joe's rather contradictory remarks. Joe stated: "Gizmo controls everything that the real life Q400 pilot requires that X-Plane cannot simulate properly, as outlined in our manual. We mostly use it for Systems depth..." You (Jack) came in two posts later with a statement of: "Gizmo controls some rather basic functions that otherwise would not work correctly as in the real Q400." These are two very different things, and from what you have said, it's not so much about true systems "depth" as Joe has outlined, but more about a means to simplify the load of generics, hide/shows, and altering datarefs that X-Plane already provides to you in default systems. I appreciate the candor here, and very much look forward to purchasing your product! I will use Joe's and your own statements here in my first published public review as a base of what to look for in this hopefully great and fun aircraft on the horizon!
  17. Hi, Jack, Thanks for that. So it sounds like default X-Plane systems drive the aircraft, and you alter smaller default systems with setting dataref numbers. It's still fun to see instruments/annunciators change though. Can you please explain this in depth: augmented navigational information to optimize generic instrument count? Also, can you explain the use of the VmoCue logic? Are you drawing with OpenGL, or are you altering X-Plane datarefs to set values on the display?
  18. Joe, I could say this for any aircraft if I wanted to. I'm asking for a detailed list of what you guys have utilized Gizmo for. It is always rewarding to see it used for projects, including this one. What is the most complex system coded with Gizmo for the Q400? What does "systems depth" entail? I'm reading through the manual...I'm not seeing much outside of generics overall, hence why I am asking this question! I want to know what I am going to be buying!
  19. Hey, guys, As this plane runs with Gizmo, can you please go into detail as to what Gizmo controls? It appears almost all of this plane is driven by generics as it stands now. Cross-referencing my Q400 manual it appears that many procedural items are also left out. A detailed description would be awesome!
  20. As Perry has stated, X-Aviation will be the place to purchase when this goes live. We will, of course, update everyone here when it's ready.
  21. The CRJ is not "supposed" to run on any number of cores. It purely takes ADVANTAGE of more cores if you give it more. Two cores WILL run the CRJ fine. Bear in mind that both cores will likely run around 100% (this is good, though...optimization). A CPU with only two cores will run at very warm temperatures, but provided you have a modern case with good ventilation you shouldn't expect any issues. I am currently testing the CRJ on 'Extreme' settings in the resolution screen with a dual core E6850 and an AMD Radeon 5870 video card. On this setup I get about 35 fps. It's very usable.
  22. Never! ;D We enjoy keeping it on our machines only, instead.
  23. Ok, guys... Now that a discussion has been had, I'll re-iterate (and Ben was right in a few areas here): We are very excited to bring this product to market. Even more, we are excited for YOU to get it in your hands and enjoy the immense amount of work that has gone into this to bring it to you! There is nothing more satisfying that watching people enjoy a product that countless hours of devotion have been poured into. Really, it means a lot! We will be releasing manuals when we're comfortable doing so. A lot goes into this, and we're not delaying anything. I know the excitement can make the wait unbearable, but rest assured we are working our tails off to get this to you as quickly as possible. We'll release things as we deem fit, and we promise...we are just as excited as you all here...possibly even more! Thanks for your continued patience and for keeping up on the various topics in these forums. It's been a long road, but the reward for waiting is finally going to be paying off very soon...we promise! Blue skies!
  24. We do plan on making a release of the necessary manuals when we feel they are completely ready for public use. That said, it will all be close proximity to release anyhow, and you won't get a whole lot of lead time. So, yes, we do plan on putting the manuals out ahead of time. In the meantime, we're more concerned about getting this aircraft out to market in a timely manner than anything else, and so that's what we're focused on doing. Let's not let this be a continually repeated question like has been done on the Saab, please. We're just as excited to get this out as everyone else is to fly it.
