  1. I guess that's twice now you've gotten responses in a manner you weren't intending as of late... Indeed it was. In October of 2012 it was announced this update would be for version 10 only in this very thread. If everyone misinterprets that's usually a clear indication that you're not being clear or not thinking clearly. You can't blame everyone else for thinking the same way (as evidently we all do since we continue to all misinterpret you). I'd say given the majority in that analysis, the problem does not lie with us. You represent about 99% of our customer base with this statement. We can't please everyone, and we have to continue to progress forward for the well being of our business, our customers, and the health of X-Plane's community as a whole. Allocating resources to a continually declining customer base driven platform (version 9) is not in our best interests, nor in the products best interests, nor even in our customers' best interests as a group majority and longterm outlook.

  3. They would be posted if there were.
  4. It amazes me sometimes how many people cannot be pleased or appreciative.Products are done when they're done and the quality is good.
  5. We're not looking to integrate cargo specific features at all. The aircraft fuselage and interior has been modified but the cockpit will not be. We could, of course, go strictly for reality and dismiss the cargo variant from the package as a whole if this bothers people.
  6. I'm not 100% sure here, but there are many variants of the Saab rolling around, and we've had to stick to "one". So many different panel configs, etc. It may be so that Saab standardized the Cargo variants, but I don't have any clarification on this. Please be aware this is modeled after the A. Our primary concern is the passenger variant, and if the cargo variant has mods in it where smoke detectors are removed then we're not really concerned about that. The cargo version is thrown in as a bonus, and these are small factors that will have to be lived with. Minus the cabin differences visually, if it's in the 340A passenger systems, it's in the cargo version. Non-issue, really.
  7. While Steven is off being his childish norm, my thanks to birdy.dma and Kris. This customer also sent in an e-mail to us the same day he posted the original thread, and we took care of him there.
  8. That's correct. That's essentially verbatim what Tom stated, so you have that assumption correct. For an $80 sim it is quite impressive in its ability to provide realism and enjoyment within the realm of reasonable expectation for the price. It can be debated all day long, but of all the sims out there in this price range, many of us feel X-Plane provides the most realistic approach you can get. Morten can answer this further, but I view this answer as a 'yes' and a 'no' one. We already know that X-Plane's approach by itself is not 100% there, but does quite a good job for any enthusiast or developer. In the instance of Morten and the IXEG guys, they want more out of X-Plane (going off of what he has already said) and they know how to get it, even if it takes reverse engineering. They are bending the sim to be even more realistic than it's intended to be, and above all, we can't expect these guys to share every secret they have in their inventory.
  9. No demo releases, as has been consistent with our past two releases. I believe our screenshots already do the talking, and since performance is naturally better than you can even get with default scenery, there's really no concern there either.
  10. Hey, Jan, Nice shots! To avoid the screen re-size, link them with the img tag and upload them to somewhere like your Dropbox public folder. This will allow users to click the image and see the full resolution shot!
  11. No add-ons right now. Working on stuff for Laminar instead.

  13. I have the same feelings. I feel like HDR is too high in contrast, but I really love the atmospheric scattering feature at the same time. It's a real shame that non HDR and regular HDR are so much different in appearance!
  14. The lighting is almost exclusively enhanced with HDR on only. This is particularly the case with aircraft taxi lights, landing lights, airport ramp lights, and road lights, as well as car lights and their light cone cast. I would venture to say that as aircraft makers have started to update aircraft to the X-Plane 10 specifications, you are only just now coming to realize that HDR is required for the nice effects we desire. Doesn't hurt to turn it on and see what happens in a night scenario for you...
  15. Maybe I'm being ignorant here, but could you please elaborate? I would think if you have HDR on at night as is intended by X-Plane then no such issues exist?
  16. No, I believe the 480 will still outperform the 630 looking at the two systems you had.
  17. That's pretty limiting...
  18. ...not.
  19. Sure...X-Plane AI is not prejudice over standard X-Plane formats.
  20. How close is close? Close enough for writing a news in a magazine issued in August? Absolutely!
  21. You will be notified by email. Pretty close now!
  22. There are hacks you can do. Search around the forum and you can find them. X-Plane has a greater roll tendency for this product that you'd find in real life, however, it's either a some or none situation...in other words, you're not going to achieve that 100% realistic selection by parameter change that you're looking for.
  23. You need to contact X-Aviation through the contact form on the website. Activations are not handled in the forums.
  24. Lookin' awesome!
