  1. The shader for the clouds is different than that of X-Plane, thus the dusk colors are different. You are seeing correct behavior, and we have noted some folks do not like this so we will be looking into how far we can go with this within X-Plane's SDK functionality. Until further research I can't yet promise what will change here.As for FPS, we've seen a number of things improve it: 1. Some folks have found conflicting plug-ins or global related add-ons. Removing these and testing one by one, or making a second demo install to test has shown drastic FPS improvements in some systems. 2. It's necessary to spend time adjusting the SkyMaxx menu to find your sweet spot. See John's post right above mine here. 3. HDR is a heavy hitter out the gate. Run a test and see if you still get low FPS with it off vs on. Lower shadows or even AA setting to figure what may be the culprit in HDR mode, and if problems still persist go back to step 1.
  2. Hey, Eddie, Welcome to X-Pilot...we're happy to have you here! Okay, so based on your description I would venture to guess you may be running an outdated version of X-Plane 10. ATL should definitely have buildings of the three you listed, so here's what you should do if you have not already.... 1. Download the X-Plane updater here. 2. Run the updater and get up to the latest version of X-Plane 10. Once this is done you should see some buildings at Atlanta. If you still do not see any, then you'll need to open up the rendering settings menu and verify that you have your objects turned up. Having these turned off will eliminate airport scenery from showing.
  3. Suggests even more something is amiss in his install similar to that of Mitch.

This will not work. SkyMaxx will be disabled when this is done.
  5. Hi, Jim, What's your texture resolution set to? Can you post a screenshot?
  6. I'm sure you can run SkyMaxx at better than lowest settings, Tom, which would in turn be a considerable difference.
  7. Sky colors look no different in HDR than they do in non-HDR. We include multiple sky set colors, and this includes big alternatives to the default orange you speak of.
  8. We did not touch anything to do with the default real weather load system. Real weather has always lagged, but to some it may not have been as noticeable till now (will depend on your system). Part of the reason it would be more noticeable for you now is because when the weather changes X-Plane is instructed to draw a new set of clouds, and unlike default clouds, SkyMaxx Pro has no two clouds alike, so you have some computer thinking going into how it should render your new scene. X-Plane is responsible for how this loads. It's actually Laminar we are waiting on to make HDR easier. At this time they do not allow plugins to read render state in HDR, which causes tone-mapping to have more of a bloom effect. Many customers have invested time into configuring SkyMaxx Pro and have actually been able to make HDR look really, really good. HDR also does multiple flight loop frame calls that can be unnecessary to the plugin, so if you have a lower end machine it can effect performance. Laminar is going to be working with adding new items into the SDK so we can have better control of these things. We are at their mercy on this front. We are looking into this one further. At first glance I believe this is tied to a dataref to kill assets from Laminar, so again there may need to be changes made on their end.
  9. Here you go.
  10. Tongue-in-cheek, Tom, tongue-in-cheek.
  11. Bill, Okay, totally understand you now... Low vis is in part set with this "grey screen of death" as so many will call it. This dataref is disabled in X-Plane when SkyMaxx Pro is in use because so many people dislike it. That said, there IS a way to re-enable it, and I'd be happy to walk you through it with a tutorial post. Let me get on that shortly.
  12. Shoot, Bill...I'm insanely guilt of quick reading here, and I apologize for it. Real Weather and NOAA are based on their nearest METAR data location, so if for some reason the location you are at does not have a service station that reports to online sources, it will go to the next nearest one, and thus the visibility will not be true to life.
  13. Hey, Bill, Please have a read through this post!
  14. Glad you're all set!
  15. Your log shows Gizmo not installed. Did you remove it? This would be the source of your problem. Re-run the installer.
  16. Agreed, and we'll add it in!
  17. Thanks, guys. The problem has been identified and will be shipped in the coming update.
  18. It's quite a bit more complex. I'm not at a computer to create a tutorial, but in short you need to feed command line info to the app, and you need to get elevation source data to cut a whole new tile. You cannot simply use a shp file because MeshTool needs to literally cut into mesh data you feed it for the water to get placed. Also keep in mind that MeshTool cuts version 9 style dsf tiles. It won't look like a smooth transition in 10.
  19. Hi, Guys, We'll look into this. If I had a quick guess it may be out of our control if I think I know what's causing this. SkyMaxx Pro disables X-Plane's cloud art assets, and it's possible Laminar tied these textures in with that kill switch for us. The kill switch is in place to prevent X-Plane from rendering clouds while we do, which saves big time in performance.

Hey, there, Thanks for the report. Simply as a matter of curiosity, can you check to see what happens in this scenario with HDR off? We 'll definitely look into this!
  22. I have to wonder if this is overload with that GPU and CPU. How much VRAM is in that GPU? Can you remove all plugins except Gizmo and SilverLining as a test?
  23. Correct!
  24. Understood! There's no better time than now! (semi joking)
