  1. Thanks, abrenna. I really wish I had something new to show. I'm sorry to say development have been on a total halt for since mid may due to trouble on a personal level. In the new house I've moved into the internet connection is really bad (mostly non existent) so I have huge problems dealing with different sources of information like Google Earth, the constant search for reference photos ++++ Development WILL continue when a few things are sorted out. I have no idea when. But it will be released. Just don't know when. Heck, it might just be a XP10 release.
  2. After a lot of emailing back and forth with Laminar, we ended up on a VERY old nVidia driver that didn't produce this issue. I can't even remember updating to a recent version except March or so. But that didn't work, so I had to go back to one released in September last year.
  3. So there's absolutely no way to enhance the resolution of the displays in 3D cockpit?
  4. Yes I did. It's crisp and clear, but it's annoying to have an overlay like that.
  5. I prioritized wrong, and bought the CRJ. Am I the only one not being able to read the MFD clearly? I must zoom in a lot until I can make sense of the mash of pixels on my screen. Extreme res, pixel shaders on, 1920x1200 on a 24". It might have state of the art systems and such, but being that I can't read my speed, altitude or vertical speed unless I zoom kind of kills the joy.
  6. Thanks Luis. So, how many of you guys have anaglyph 3D glasses? The red/blue ones..
  7. GUYS! Please. Would you mind posting images in a bit lower file size?.. JPEGs of these images would easily be below 200kb vs. 500kb-1.7mb!
  8. As long as X-Aviation don't sell Carenado planes, I won't touch it. They were great for FS9, but I'm a bit more aware of quality now than before.
  9. I record in 1920x1200 or 1280x800. Plenty of room to leave the replay control bar out of frame. I used ChaseView a lot on the Dash 8 video.
  10. Thanks, Warmbrak. Yes, 3D trees. I'm gonna test more when I get back home in a couple of days to see how much detail I can cram into it without having a billion polygons. But so far, it looks very promising.

    CRJ-200

I'd like to see a review as critical as the Dash 8 on the CRJ. Put the hype aside. Be honest. I wanna know if it's worth it whenever I can afford it.
  12. Capnsully-SimonW, i tried using the QT recording once, but the resolution was like 200px wide. Didn't find a way to adjust that. Anyway, Screenflow is a very nice app indeed. If you can wait a few more weeks, we'll have Final Cut X too. Should be a great tool to edit on.
  13. Congratulations to everyone making this happen. A great addon for the X-Plane community. Now I just gotta get moving (literally) and hopefully be able to save up enough to get my very own CRJ in my personal hangar. I predict late June. To anyone else already flying it - enjoy. Looking forward to join you in the skies.
  14. Yes, I use Fraps too. I bought it years ago. I know they have a freeware version, not sure what the limitations are though. It's well worth the $ it costs.
  15. It's the grass. Great job, you spotted it! Now, here's something I started messing with the past hour. Not sure if it will make it to the final version of the scenery, but it's very interesting to figure out ways to pull it off. What's new?
  16. You're mentioning things that aren't new really. Look to the far right. Then over to the other side again. Compare.
  17. Almost. I bet you can see it if you click to see in fullscreen. If not, let me know and I'll give you a new hint.
  18. Nice video, nice scenery. Flyinhawaiian. It's not impossible to make scenery like that. It "just takes time". You know? 'Cause there doesn't seem like there's so many of us doing scenery with the aim and goal of making it "perfect". Freeware is.. well.. freeware.. Payware scenery is even more time consuming with a big weight on the shoulders to actually "deliver something worth paying for". I've tried building a few airports. One of them is actually not that bad, I just need some more info about the airport in regards of photos if it's gonna meet MY idea of the simulated reality. I can of course release it as is, but.. will that be good enough for others to pay for it? Who knows.. I wouldn't mind contributing in payware for X-Plane. By all means. But doing it all alone WILL make it take a lot of time.
  19. I've invested a little and learned a few new tricks. I made a new UV map for the tower thus baking it over again. It needs some tuning and I'll bake it in a better environment to get rid of the noise. But it's getting there. And a little question for you guys. What do you see?
  20. Woah that was awesome!! A little trip to google told me that it's a Boeing KC-135. I'll be lurking around a few forums to find out how they did it. It's not a shocker to most of us that this is done mostly with CG.
  21. Another good reason to get an iPad and AirTrack, Nova. You can do it all without a mouse. Just point, touch, enter the number of choice, and hit OK.
  22. Hmm.. well.. I didn't even hook that "include beta" thingy on.
  23. Good to see you coming around Nova. I always fly with Compress to VRAM setting ON. I don't notice any degraded graphics by it, so.. I see no reason not to.
  24. I recorded the Dash 8 video in 9.69 with the exact same setup as I have now. This problem just popped out from thin air. How can I downgrade (or if I do a clean install, upgrade) to 9.62? Yeah I was thinking either i5 2500K or GTX570. I'm very happy with the choice I made. I'll be going for a new GPU when the time is right.
  25. I work in the creative business every day. Post-production for film and TV that is. I feel this development and delay discussion reminds me of that "world". Whenever someone comes to me and ask "how long will it take to..." it's impossible to give the answer. Of course, I can be within range, but really, a lot can go wrong during the process. Most of what I do is delivered on hard drives, and they usually deliver the material so it's juuuuuust enough time to do the job. I have a deadline, often set to a certain date and a certain hour of that day. No matter what problem is popping up, I need to solve it before that time and get done with all the rest. For instance - what the heck do you do when you get a drive with 2TB worth of video material which is broken upon arrival? It takes a lot of time to transfer 2TB over the Internet. And it takes time to send a new drive. Problems like that can cause a major headache, but it's just something that may happen. Let's relate to that as a bug... The problem came out of nowhere. I as a creative guy don't want to deliver a product I'm not proud of. Of course, since I have deadlines, I need to "kill a baby" now and then, but I strive to make it work the way it should. And the clients are happy I spent that extra eight hours to make it so and happily pays for those extra hours. Especially when I can show them what those hours mean for the final product vs. what it could be. I think that's the same with scenery and aircraft developers for X-Plane too. Even though the job looks killer, and they've done a lot of good things, the developer might not be satisfied with the product if it's shipped before it's completely done in the way they want it to be. That would be like shipping a prototype and just leave it. Go buy another plane. Learn to handle it. Enjoy the sim while you can, or go outside. Bring your camera and take photos of something. I'm sure the developers will like to hear your opinion when it's released.
