  1. I am sure there are thousands of us. I try not to do it more than once every few minutes though.... haha.
  2. Just got an email sent from Navigraph about the IXEG 737 being released Today. Thumbs up to @Cameron and team for this kind of planning and integration from launch!
  3. Pre-orders would have solved this... :-)
  4. Soooooo close now. Minutes away. In the last six years, over 3 million minutes have passed. :-)
  5. Yep. For once it is nice to be on the west coast! :-) Can't wait to line this puppy up at KSJC and do a short flight down to KBUR.
  6. Yay for being on the West Coast (US). I will definitely be staying up with you all for this!!!
  7. Do we actually know the release hour yet? I feel kind of stupid constantly hitting the "checkout" button all day and evening waiting to see when it changes....
  8. Yeah I think it is cheap. Would have expected it to be over $100! Can't wait to pay, won't let us check out yet. haha
  9. XPFW and Morten... that heritage is how we all know that this IXEG creation is going to be amazing! I have it in my cart but it won't let me pay yet. :-p
  10. Like many here, I have been waiting for this day since 'early days', Morten and all have been making many great planes and this bird is truly the culmination of all of their talent, prior work, and above all else there bold dream to make a plane that would be at this level in X-Plane. In the time they have been working on it, a lot of great development has happened on X-Plane, and that has been awesome as it has really grown the audience and pilots that will be able to take advantage of this amazing product. Already cleared my schedule for this weekend, so that I can really dive in and fly this plane that if we are honest we have to admit we have all _dreamed_ of literally flying. :-)
  11. Absolutely, and that is what we all love about the IXEG effort. All I mean is that given that a joystick is different than a real yoke, and that the forces involved in holding it are so different, it is somewhat subjective (hence my word "voodoo") in how to map the deflection of the joystick into control deflections, isn't it? Or do you just use a linear relationship that full deflection of the joystick is the same as full deflection of the controls and then test roll rate, etc. matches real life data?
  12. I am confident I will love both, and I already love the 732 and 727. My only "concern" is that it will be really really awesome to find that the two 737's feel the same when flying approaches to land by hand, etc. I think there is a bit of "voodoo" involved in going from the joystick control input in a simulator to the control deflections that are modeled in X-plane. (Perhaps it is better than the look up table based FSX world?) But it will be so awesome to be able to feel like the two products from the same vendor have the same type rating and the aerodynamics are similar. (I know in fact the wings and control surfaces were slightly redesigned in moving from the 732 to the 733, so seeing the slightly different approach and stall speeds would be unbelievable!) Since there are in fact a few eyes in this forum who have had a chance to fly both... would be curious to hear. But also totally understand if you all are busy with flying this plane or debugging. :-)
  13. Aloha Airlines is well known for the big holes they like to put in their 737's...
  14. Yeah how do we know the delay in that FMS in the video doesn't come from the fact it is operating in a sim environment? :-) Perhaps likely not. But those who pointed out that in single pilot flying on VATSIM given the vagaries of click spots and the workload already, I am all for no extra delay. Intel i7 FMS for the win.
  15. Are the updates referred to in this thread available yet? It is an icing time of year, and I am running into icing conditions when flying the Saab. :-)
  16. No worries Cameron. I just mentioned it because I thought (a) it would be simple enough to implement in terms of the "logic" involved and there is provision made for when you try and taxi with cones out and things like that generating comments, and ( I wanted to make sure I understood correctly what those pins are in fact supposed to do in real life. I would be fine if none of the ground support stuff was drawn or simulated, but the detail is very very impressive and I love the plane.
  17. Maybe I don't understand what these pins are for. But when I leave them in place and take off, I can get all gear to go up and down like normal. Seems like it should be very bad to leave these in and that the gear should fail to operate? Loving this plane so far, as I get back into X-Plane and Vatsim after a couple years away from the whole thing. Justin
  18. This is a most exciting day. CRJ flight with an FMS and visual approach landing. exactly what I dream of doing! Any thoughts about doing a paid public-beta? Sounds like not. Seems you already have all of the bugs identified in your mind. None the less, some of us would be eager to be early adopters! ;-) Nothing more fun than bug hunting.
  19. Choix, since I infer you are the developer of the FMS (and other coded systems in the plug-in) I have to ask if you have ever publicly put out any info on the process going into you work? I am most hungry to read and learn about what it is like to develop an FMS for x-plane. Is most of the delay/overhead in the project wrestling with the specific datarefs (and limitations thereof) in x-plane?
  20. Yes please do not delay the release for this feature. If you can't keep flying you have so many options already: (1) pause and hide x-plane, leave computer on (2) pause, hide, hibernate computer (3) divert and land at nearest airport (4) crash x-plane, or your plane whichever you prefer. I just can't wait to see the FMS that is being developed revealed. As a random aside, I am curious if this FMS will be a useful codebase for future airplanes in x-plane to also have their own native FMS? I don't mean another "universal" FMC, but one that will with common code show up in the development of other future aircraft for x-plane.
  21. I do enjoy. I will really be sure to try and get everyone flying through ZOA airspace on vatsim aware of this gorgeous scenery! Can't wait to recreate this flight myself. Cameron, with the stuff you have on your computer (unreleased scenery and planes) it is like you are flying in a totally different simulator from the future. X-aviation should have a paid alpha-beta-early-adopter subscription program. haha. I am only one-fifth joking. :-)
  22. Looks great! Does this mean the Norcal scenery is coming out super soon? :-)
  23. As the guy that mentioned Reno, let me just say I am very excited as well that it includes what it does. It also sounds like this scenery is special in that it includes some new technological firsts. Which is great. As far as boundaries go, part of why I mentioned Reno is that I have gotten very big on flying on VATSIM. For people who like real atc, they are also likely to like real scenery. One thing you might consider in how you envision your boundaries is how the geography of the various air traffic airspaces are laid out. (Which is why I see Reno as falling best into Norcal.) Each airspace may be too big to be a single package, but cutting across great routes to fly online is something to consider. When you have ZOA and ZLA airspaces covered it will be nirvana. I am just glad ZOA is getting such great coverage now! woohoo.
  24. Can you work to include the Reno area? Certainly don't let that delay the initial release. Following your current approach I would expect to see SoCal well before Nevada and that makes sense, but to me Reno is really are part of Norcal. The visual approaches into KRNO would be truly fantastic to fly! This looks really really exciting. Can you comment on how it will work to have custom airport sceneries for SFO, OAK, SJC, SMF, etc. Those will still work fine on top of this photo scenery? I think this photo scenery is going to make flying in ZOA (Norcal) airspace on vatsim really really rewarding! I am pumped.
  25. I would love to see an update (maybe screenshots or even a video) of the FMS development / operation. Even if it is still buggy or not perfect, I think it would be very interesting to get a peak into what development is like. Seeing such a fancy system take shape is going to be super exciting! Sign me up for a beta, even a prepaid beta! I get the impression you are a team of perfectionists. But for those of us who appreciate what it takes to achieve perfection, it would be rewarding to see things even short of ultimate perfection. Cheers! Justin
