  1. I thought someone mentioned on their twitch stream that they had compiled the X-IVAP client for smart copilot. This isn't a solved problem yet?
  2. This would be great to know!
  3. @tkyler just want to make sure you are aware of this. :-)
  4. @crisk73 I couldn't agree more. The cool thing about flying with another pilot, besides the element of task management being added, and having someone to talk through procedures with (as opposed to trying to force yourself to just talk out loud to yourself) is that after a short while you no longer see the cockpit as something you are just simulating. Because it is shared, it is real, and you feel you are flying in someone else's plane. In the very beginning it felt a bit like there was a ghost onboard flipping switches for me, but very quickly I felt like I was in a plane I had stepped aboard and I was lending a hand to get it from point A to point B safely and efficiently! Very cool indeed.
  5. What time zone are you located in?
  6. Totally understand, and absolutely agree that those development efforts should take priority! @birdy.dma perhaps it is worth revisiting the "nav2 situation" as I read in this thread: that in 1.0.3 hotfix the differing logic between Nav1 and Nav2 got fixed. I still don't fully understand the IXEG representation of radio frequencies with the different truncations of the frequency. Maybe @tkyler you can give a two sentence explanation of why it is done that way? But at least now it seems better syncing of the radio and inclusion of the animation might be possible. I will put it on my todo list for @dr_nerdrage and I to investigate. Justin
  7. Wow, we have a lot of European pilots in here! Thats great, and I hope you guys all get going flying with each other. Since I am on the West Coast US (PST, UTC-8) it is a bit hard to fly with pilots located in Europe, but hope to some time! Justin
  8. 1) My understanding of the way you had the file (and how we tried to leave it) is that those important aspects of wind altitude, speed, direction, and sheer are indeed synced well using the [CONTINUED] section, so that the pilot flying is the one sending that data to the other about winds. Looking at the file again though I see I accidentally also included those lines in [SLOW] as well. (Not sure how smartcopilot handles the double inclusion of a dataref in multiple places. oops.) I have commented them out now in the attached .cfg file that I am calling version 1.2.1 (hope you don't mind). The remaining weather items though I do think should be in slow, like setting the cloud types and height and barometric pressure. Those don't change very often and if they do they cause redrawing in the sim, correct? 2) The issue with nav2 is that doesn't seem to be a way to have both the dataref for the clickspot/knob actions (sorry I am blanking on the correct 3d cockpit terminology lingo) synced and having the tuned radio frequency stay synced. If you try and sync the user interface actions to get sound, if the over eager first officer drags the knob to fast you might lose a click and then the frequency will be mismatched. Currently we have it as you left nav1 where you just sync the frequency using the X-plane built in nav1/2 dataref and that means the frequency is well synced, but the two pilots don't hear the sound or see the animation of the other pilot tuning the radio. This along with the ability to sync the guards for example on the battery, emergency lights, and manual gear extension (to name 3 examples) are places where the developers will probably need to help out the effort by providing the appropriate underlying datarefs. Once @tkyler and @Morten get a breather perhaps they can help us out. :-) The biggest remaining issues I see are as follows: A/ Especially in cruise, we still see (and hear) the elevator trim seeming to fight and conflict, which leads to a sort of continuous stuttering trimming occurring. Does not impact in flight experience though. (Perhaps my latest edits to fix my goofs, see item 1 above, and attach config file will help, I don't know, haven't had a chance yet to fly it again with @dr_nerdrage.) B/ The FMC presents a huge challenge to sync between the two planes because it is a system with memory. On at least one occasion we have for example it will declare something like "Drag Required" on one system but not on the other. 90+% of the time though it seems to be in sync. Mostly it seems by making sure we communicate and ensure the scratch pad stays clean and in sync we have no problems though in actual flying. Yay. Again @tkyler will be needed to help with making sure the FMC and autopilot modes always stay well synced. (Btw, hilarity will and did ensue on one flight where we accidentally tried to fly with one pilot using navigraph data and the other using aerosoft data. The two FMCs happily programmed totally different routes from start to finish. ha.) ***** For those not interested in these nitty gritty development details, the smartcopilot file here is in immensely great shape and this plane is an absolute joy to fly together with another person, so go out there and fly! I am really hoping we can create a "virtual airline" of sorts with a fleet of 733's (and dare we include a few 732's and 722's) for us collectively to smartcopilot around the world together! **** Cheers, Justin smartcopilot.cfg
  9. After testing with @dr_nerdrage we made some changes to: Sync weather properly Solve an issue we were having with the Nav 2 radio not being synced and glitching in the cockpit. Added sim/engines/TOGA_power to [COMMANDS] section so N1 would work at takeoff Remove glare-shield checklist sync so they can be looked at independently. Cheers, Justin smartcopilot.cfg
  10. **** When posting your interest in flying with others, please be sure to include your TIME ZONE and general times of day/week you like to fly. **** Thought maybe we could start a thread for people who want to find partners for flying with the smartpilot plugin now that Claude has created an early draft config file for it! Thanks Claude!!! I myself am looking for a captain to fly with. I'm located in California (PST time zone), and evenings and weekends work for me.
  11. Indeed. Several times I have made the mistake of pushing back and/or taxiing and IRS align gives and error. Ha! Have to then turn the IRS switches and off and restart will scribbling on my notepad 100 times "I will not taxi without IRS being aligned" as punishment. :-)
  12. Yes turning off Windows Defender's scan of X-Plane folder works great. Surely in the long run there must be a way to have the plugin not hit the file system so hard (I am guessing that is the issue) so that Windows Defender doesn't conflict, but for now it works fine this way. :-)
  13. I would love to try this out with someone on Twitch. My twitch username is jsnapp1982
  14. The weather radar in the new IXEG is amazing. Right now I use FSGRW and otherwise stock x-plane cloud rendering. Will using SkyMax and this plugin break anything about the IXEG weather radar? Justin
  15. You always have such great and precise explanations every time I talk to you @Morten (@Morten XPFW). Thanks, I will check out those numbers and see what happens.
  16. I had not seen this before, but since my home airport is KSJC (I live right on the left side of the airport literally), I did just the other day do practice flights from KSJC over to KSMF in the 732 while waiting for this plane to release on Friday night! Thanks for posting this.
  17. I had not seen this before, but since my home airport is KSJC (I live right on the left side of the airport literally), I did just the other day do practice flights from KSJC over to KSMF in the 732 while waiting for this plane to release on Friday night! Thanks for posting this.
  18. @dr_nerdrage. Haha omg. When he said "this concludes the tutorial" I stopped it, didn't realize he then goes on and does a go around. If he mentioned that earlier I guess I had spaced out. (I admit I was sleep deprived from waiting for the plane to be release the night before... haha) Thanks as always for your help! I hope @Litjan makes lots of videos. Once they get shared cockpit working with this bird, he can charge money to take us on check rides! :-)
  19. I am not getting that deeper growling sound that is so realistic and impressive that I am seeing in other people' videos. Is it perhaps because I am not loading up the plane heavily enough or reving the engines up far enough before rolling?
  20. Maybe I am blind, but I have yet to come across a tutorial for doing a go around with this plane. Seems like it would be great to have a tutorial on that since this plane's FMS even loads the go around procedures in. Maybe you all are great pilots, but I find I end up having to do go arounds much more often when I am piloting than I have found actual pilots do them based on my passenger experience. haha.
  21. +2 on the hotfix! With that and excluding X-Plane 10 from Windows Defender (after years of flying hassle free on a Mac I switched to Bootcamp for g2xpl) this thing is now amazing to fly! I still get some glitching and throttle spasms when trying to insert a future waypoint into the current waypoint position but it goes away when hitting EXEC and now the routing is good and sensible.
  22. Yes I had to learn to turn on the hydraulic pumps right away after starting engines or else we would be going for a wild ride even with the parking break set. Glad my car doesn't need a hydraulic system for the parking brake to work. :-p
  23. This fix and turning off Windows Defender (which was causing all of my issues with spasming throttles when changing FMC setup in flight) have now made this plane perfect. Big thumbs up on the ground handling now. It is perfect and amazingly immersive!
  24. Wonder who X-aviation uses as their webhost, @Cameron? I am impressed with the site being in such good shape! I should switch my photo lab business to this web host.
  25. Hopefully they will be able to produce enough of these IXEG 737's and we won't have production delays at launch like Boeing did with the 787. :-p
