  4. @Ben, I sure the "only girls" comment was tongue-in-cheek. I usually go by the adage "when all else fails, read the manual" - not something I would recommend to pilots however X-Plane libraries have deprecated autogen objects that exist as placeholders, so if you use those, you will see nothing. Make sure you choose from the non-deprecated libraries. Exclusion zones cannot be rotated. X-Plane only handles rectangular exclusion zones oriented north-south, so there is little point in rotating them. The good thing about WED (besides all the point Chris mentioned) is that you get a project file you can backup and restore whenever you wish. The WED project file contains all the info need to reproduce the DSF and apt.dat files whenever needed. You can also share the project file with others, meaning a scenery dev team have a way to share data - which can include stuff like ground routes (for GroundTraffic), as well as organisation of the project elements in various groups. OE is perfect for those who want to add a couple of objects to existing scenery, or perhaps edit something in their local airport, but if you want to create scenery as a project, WED is really the only way to go.

  5. That's a crash of the graphics driver. You have an Intel graphics card which is obviously not the best choice to fly X-Plane on. My suggestion is to turn down the rendering settings to a level the Intel onboard chip can actually handle. Here's what I would do: 1. Start with your rendering settings at minimum. If it still crashes, then we have a serious problem with the openGL stack. If you still get a crash at minimum settings, we'll submit a bug for that so Ben can look into it. He knows more about openGL than I do. 2. My guess however is that it'll work fine at settings okay with your little onboard GPU. So crank up the settings, coming from the minimum, up to a level that your GPU is happy at and doesn't crash the driver. Philipp

  6. Hi Jim No I haven't shared it, as to me it would be like saying he didn't do a good enough job. I'm just making what little improvements are left to make it as good as it possibly can, within the limits available. I am amazed just how near the real thing he has got it though. The only bits I'm adding now are to add the galley underlights, which he probably missed, as they don't show up in most photos.

  7. This was my longest X-Plane 10 flight ever! A whopping 12.5 hours! The flight was from KJFK New York to RJAA Tokyo Narita. Please enjoy the following screenshots with a little bit of commentary. Flying over the Bering Sea at 34,000 feet Another [attractive] picture of the ANA 77W 77W in landing configuration and final approach into Tokyo Narita Short Final on RWY 34L Touchdown! at Tokyo Narita. That concludes ANA flight 9. My only wish is a beautiful pay ware quality Narita Scenery!
