  1. Took a friend of mine flying today in the Cessna 172 with G1000. We flew to St. Pete for dinner and got some good shots in the process!

  2. Just to shorten the long wait until the release, I have again a "few" (76 to be correct) PREVIEW screenshots taken around the European Alps (Northern Italy, Western Austria, parts of Switzerland and a tiny bit of Southern Germany). These pictures are already very close to the final release (for example they should show some decent improvements in forest representation etc.), and are only missing latest OSM data. You can see all 76 screenshots here: PREVIEW - Alps (Europe), HD Mesh Scenery v3By the way, the current status is: OSM import has been finished (it should definitely contain all data added until 10th of October), phase 1 of OSM filtering and preparation has been finished, at the moment the data is translated to be used in the scenery generator, and in a few days the final (but lengthy - many weeks!) phase of scenery file generation will start.

  3. Took the Cessna 172 for a flight to dinner from KSRQ to KSPG last night. Got some wonderful views of the sunset and the Sunshine Skyway bridge in Tampa. Be sure to watch in HD!

  4. Funny how the first thing I noticed, was that the heat/defrost vents were closed or restricted. Never see that up here, always open, and ready to go. Then again, we probably only have some use for them six months out of the year. Looks like a great flight. I have a question for you though, how much of a distraction do you find the G1000 to be when flying VFR, and especially at night? Seems to me that it probably does draw attention away from the visual aspect of flying, and you may end up with your head inside too much?

  5. We would like to give you a small sneak preview into part of what we have been developing for the Citation. We have had considerable feedback about the radios in the Saab and we ARE listening. The Citation has a very similar radio package as the Saab. As Ben Russell continues to develop Gizmo we are able to bring you more capability and even better performance. Below you will find a video highlighting some features of the "new" Collins Pro Line II radios as implemented in the Citation. These features have been many months in the making and we hope they solve most, if not all, of the issues that some of our customers had with the Saab radios. Feedback is welcome so please let us know what you think.
