  1. What started as an initial flight to lunch with some friends turned to absolute hell when an insane supercell buildup appeared truly out of nowhere. We were wrapping up lunch and I was glued to my iPad checking every possible weather maps. Despite having done my weather research according to training, the unfortunate insane Florida weather created a buildup of storms that lasted 12+ hours and battered the Tampa Bay area. The airport alone received 5 inches of rain in 12 hours. Since I had passengers, I refused to take to the skies and fly home as my passengers' safety is my main priority. Always remember that aviation can be a life ending passion if you don't treat it accordingly. Always fly safe and never try to rush. Still flyable weather. This was mid-lunch when I first checked the weather. Post lunch storm buildup. And this was the flight home this morning

  3. In 2003 a DHL Airbus 300 was hit by a missile after departure at Baghdad airport. All 3 hydraulic systems, and thus the elevator, aileron and rudder failed. Nevertheless, the pilots managed to control and land the plane only by applying asymetric thrust. A different disaster was Japan Airlines flight 123, also with failing hydraulics similar to the DHL flight. Unfortunately in the Japan Airlines flight, only 4 out of 524 people survived. As I don't have a (virtual) A300 and don't claim being able to do such things with an A300, I tried this with the default Beech Baron of X-Plane - admittedly not in Baghdad, but in Santorini (a runway is a runway though, independant where it is located). In the first attempt, I crashed about 150 m before the runway, in the second attempt I crashed 2-3 meters near the runway, in the third attempt I crashed on the runway and finally in the fourth attempt ... but see for yourself - watch the yoke and the pedals, they don't move, only the engine levers. Who would like to try this oneself? It's fun, which I don't want to have in reality, only in the sim ... P.S. Due to video driver issues the water reflections look a bit weird and I had 2 slight stutters

  5. As a pilot friend of mine says, "There are 3 types of fixed-wing aircraft: aeroplanes, microlights and Airbuses."

  6. That should be the case… and… Ben Russell has recently done some amazing things with optimizations of Gizmo, which should help with the performance of ALL Gizmo enhanced aircraft!

  7. Thanks Yes, I know -- but for the YouTube videos, I don't listen to own music. Otherwise the videos would probably be blocked in Germany, because YouTube and the GEMA (important organziation for music licensing in Germany) don't have an agreement about that. So if I play a song in my video which is available in Germany, it is not allowed and YouTube either blocks access to the video in Germany, or removes the audio... And here comes part 4: Leg 4: Voghera to Modena

  8. Just let it go, it's very clear we're just wasting our time. He's proven multiple times that he's childish and has no clear understanding on how criticism works. You keep doing your thing and build us a beautiful A320!
