  1. I generated Chicago, but the screenshot looks bad because I forgot I didn't have any scenery installed , so the entire city is floating on water. Althought height information is good in Chicago, there is no colour or material information so most buildings just look generic. A good way to see 3D buildings is this http://map.f4-group.com/#. It will show you height, colour information, etc, and I've used it so far for scouting cities :-)

  2. I purchased the Q400 myself today. Not the easiest to land but not the hardest, from what I've seen so far

  3. looking back at it all, weren't the A330-340 Planes from them much higher quality then purchasing them from the store? well maybe a little leas but considering the planes were very well rendered from my standpoint makes paywear seam much more useless to purchase. though even if the site was closed and links not available, they should still post up what they have to the .org so others can use their great planes and livers. i was so hoping for several liveries i wanted when they announced it to. Turned out the project just became like the freeware 777 from xp jets. DEAD.

  5. All I can say is this is amazing... Wow! I'm going on OSM rampages to get as many local buildings put in as possible I'm about 170 buildings total so far and counting. Could we see some examples of what skyscrapers end up looking like?

  6. You will like that one. Very cool video of above crosswind landing from outside, had fun. Thanks Andy. Moving on to Queenstown NZQN. Cheers, AJ

  7. Now, the video from yesterday, winds were bad for RWY 06, VATSIM also.

  8. Gentlemen, another thing is done. Just for request from Andy, I made three videos. Below, VATSIM, today, winds were favorable and that is the most probable scenario to take off and land on RWY 06 at EGPO. Pretty smooth, no problems at all except the "terrain" couple times, need to keep the plane a bit higher.

  10. "Dear passengers we ran into quicksand on landing and the plane is stuck. You all have to exit through the cockpit emergency hatch and try not to fall into the sand" This is what happened: http://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=20070520-0

  11. @Canox: wow, brave man, the difference between your approach and first of mine is that you decided to land and I chickened out. Watched couple of times, very cool but yes, also crazy , like mine. I was laughing hard reading about you working as a cab driver in that town, lol, lol, lol. I was doing the very first one with the base leg almost 90 deg to the runway and that did not work well, then I watched the real life guys and narrowed the angle, worked like a charm. One good flight for each continent, great idea but I can tell you now that we will have more than that, see Jim's and Theo's reply. Hey, I am excited like a boy, well, I am always like a boy when it comes to flying..... @Andy: I did not forget the EGPO RWY 06 take off, I am having fun with it just now, took a break to reply here. I can already tell you, with the headwind, take off is piece of cake, with real weather and forcing to take off from RWY06, it is much more challenging but also quite easy. What is HARD is landing on RWY 06 with real weather when winds do not cooperate. I will post videos soon, stay tuned. @Jim: NOW I am sure we will be very busy trying all these approaches with LES Saab340A. Thank you tons, Jim. It also makes me happy that you are reading this thread, you are one of the guys that made that thread possible. @ Theo: Hi Theo, this is my first direct contact with you and I do remember you because when I posted an apology some time ago, I missed your name ( because I did not see too many replies of yours in the threads I was reading). I apologize for that because I have learned that you are the texture master which shows very well. Thank you very much for chipping in. Now, we HAVE to fly NZQN VOR App. Gentlemen, I am very happy that my idea of this thread is proving to be a good one. Thank you all for the inputs. Cheers, AJ

  12. Thanks Andy for the Sumburgh suggestion.. having fun at this airport. Definitely will add it to 'the list' of SAAB flights. I hope to find at least one good flight for each continent.. we have some good Europe approaches. Looking for some good ones in BC, Canada and New Zealand right now. Queenstown, NZ looks fun.. I havnt tried it in the sim but look at the VOR/DME B & C approach chart https://charts.aero/airport/NZQN PS. Hahah just noticed there is a jumping dolphin in the EGPB scenery

  13. That was my amazing day as an Air Canada pilot flying the Q400

  14. Wow. EGPB. Very weather. Such windy. So scare. 1st attempt in real weather after a quick recon in a Cessna Didnt crash but I couldnt stop until I was inside that town lol. Watching the replay I think I could have had it but I flared much too early.. (not to mention the rest of the horrific approach) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0H82O5k5lM&feature=youtu.be

  16. Alrighty. Looking good on multiple loads - version is indeed "10250" so I know my bounds (Thanks Ben) - I can load multiple ACFs and OBJs now, but just cant get the actual ACF to render in-game. i.e.: OBJ - Renders fine - this is the B732 ICAO model as an OBJ700 from the xsb_aircraft.txt (Westjet 73x) ACF - this is the B738 ICAO model as a 1025 ACF from the same xsb_aircraft.txt (Should be an American B738) If I disable all CSLs, then the "default" that is loaded (as per post #1 in this thread) - this is the exact same above B738 ACF model that wasnt showing (same /path/filemame.acf) - so I know the "ACF" Is actually 'renderable' (if thats a word!) by X-Plane. - i.e. the "American B738" shows up correctly if I don't specify any CSL xsb_aircraft.txt So close, yet so far.... I feel I'm on the tip of having this all working - Might need Wade to "wade in" here on the vatsim forums - perhaps rendering the 'ACF' when you try to 'tell it to render an ACF" is somehow broken in XSB? (and if you don't let it interfere, then it works fine..) =) - CK.
