MdMax Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 More news today:X-Plane 10 DelayedWe previously projected that X-Plane 10 would be released in December of 2010. We now know that we won't be able to meet this date and still deliver the simulator that we envision X-Plane 10 to be; in order to meet the standards we have for Version 10, we have to push its release back some number of months. We're working out a new release date now--a date that won't be pushed back again--which we will announce as soon as possible. In the meantime, our development team will continue to work as efficiently as possible on this massive undertaking. With all the new technologies we're bringing together in X-Plane 10, we believe the new simulator will be a major new landmark in X-Plane's history. We know how eager our fans are to see the finished product, but this delay will ensure that the product you see is one that will elevate X-Plane to an entirely new level.http://www.x-plane.com/pg_news.htmlI prefer them to take more time. X-Plane 9.62 rocks, so waiting longer for a more polished version 10 is not a problem.Happy flying. Quote
dan Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 That's kinda disappointing, was looking forward to testing it out during the holidays... But yeah, it's better that they take their time and don't rush it.But what could be holding them back..? Quote
-TheoGregory Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 Bugs, new systems taking longer to code than originally specified. The list could be quite long Quote
Airace Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 Yeh,frustrating, but better to get it right before releasing, seeing as Microsoft is also working on a new sim as well! A well polished release will certainly capture more "fsx" fans which is good for the X-Plane development on the whole! Quote
Ben Russell Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 X-Plane 10 has been delayed because Tom Kyler was admitted last night suffering a severe case of Gizmo Addiction.Sorry everyone. :-\ Quote
Jack Skieczius Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 X-Plane 10 has been delayed because Tom Kyler was admitted last night suffering a severe case of Gizmo Addiction.Sorry everyone. :-\ROFLMAO Quote
Lukasz Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 But on the other hand, a few months more to get $$ for a new hardware capable of running that in full beauty. Every stick has two ends Quote

Dozer Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 The XP10 feature I want most urgently is an RSS feed for the XP10 news page. Quote
rodmanb294 Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 http://www.x-plane.com/pg_news.htmlIf you're using a MAC try feed://xplane10.wordpress.com/feed/ and have is go to mail. While not a direct feed he seems to be copying and covering X plane 10 rather extensively.Hope this helps.. Quote
Dozer Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Thanks; that first link was the one I would have liked an RSS feed for but there isn't one. However! The second link does have RSS and seems to have a tonne of other interesting stuff, so thanks very much for showing me that! Quote
