Not offended in these forums.  But I do follow the forums at x-plane.org and have seen every single comment there regarding the Saab.

Good to hear , I also follow both sides of the force.  :)

I had the right to say what I felt and it was OK, here I would be banned.

You know that I do not like the way I was treated here, everybody likes different things, right?

Anyway, I do not intend to make more replies, just waiting for SAAB update and reading replies. :D

Sorry. The magic wand is heavy on FPS and requires intensive tuning that involves multiple restarts of X-Plane as well as submission of log data for analysis by our crack team of X-Plane wizards.

We know you don't like that sort of thing, so unfortunately the Magic Wand mod is not available for use by yourself.

Understood.... I just hoped that maybe at the time of human weakness I would be granted the use of magic wand. :)

Will try to live without it. Thank you for a reply, Ben.

Do you know that I was banned from x-plane.org?  That an x-plane.org developer tried to poach me away from X-Aviation and I was also re-assured that I would get a better deal than what Cameron was offering?  Did you know that Jim Gregory is now on mod review because he made 1 mention of Gizmo at the org?  That Theo is on mod review because he posted 1 screenshot (within the orgs screenshot guidelines) of the DC-3 and was warned against advertising X-Aviation products? (Never mind the fact that x-plane.org developers are free to post anything they want at these forums)

None of us like the way we were treated by Nicolas or the moderators, yet you don't see any of us making hateful, derogatory posts of anything at x-plane.org or their store and what they sell.  (I can point you to several examples of what they have said about us)

Even though, as you say, we are completely and unequivocally entitled to.

But hey, I guess that's just how we roll.

Anyway, glad you won't be replying, because I would rather not derail the thread.

I just wanted to reply to your post and close the subject.

Let's hope you'll change your mind about Gizmo when the Saab update comes out (I think you know the post I am referring to) seeing as the Saab wouldn't have been possible without it.

Goran, yes , I know Gizmo is mandatory for SAAB and maybe I will change my mind, the time will tell. I will answer your PM later on, thank you. AJ

Ok, just wanted to verify I wasn't alone as this is the first time in along time my FPS tanks and it's only with the SAAB and there is a sound pop from the engines in the VC. Looking forward to the update, love the plane though.

Guys. With due respect to your work. You are obviously working on more improvements to this wonderful plane. But I was just wondering if you already had tweaks to improve the frame rate two months ago, isn't possible to release two updates: one now with the frame rate and gizmo improvements to date, and another one later - with whatever you are working on now. Please do not take it as an offence, just eager to fly. Thanks.

To put it short, the answer is no.

We do appreciate the enthusiasm though. :)

I have owned this plane since it came out. And I have appreciated everything about it except for a few quarks that have been addressed in the next update. It is so rewarding to have a plane that does exactly what it is supposed to do as far as systems go. I did the introductory flight and was so suprised how everything functioned like it was supposed to. Navigating has never been this much fun. I tend to get upwards of 18fps unless in areas like JFK or LA. But even with that said I can still fly it at close 10 fps as long as I don't look out of the side window lol. Can't wait to see the new update. I am sure there improvements will elevate the immersion factor considerably.

Hello! Fantastic job on the old Slaab! I'ts like I never leave work, and constantly in Houston doing Sim training! Even climbs and handles like the real machine!

Im wondering if I could put in a few requests that might make life a little bit easier? Although I don't know much about how people are able to create something with such great detail, I'm assuming changing stuff isn't nearly as easy as I might think, or it's much more complex than I can imagine. Either way I wouldn't mind writing down some ideas and you guys can let me know what you think. so here we go

1. it would be fantastic if the speed at which the frequencies (nav/com 1 and 2 and ADF 1 and 2) change when using the mouse, to something a little quicker. If it is one digit per second, maybe three or four per second would be great!

2. if the lamps test panel could be animated to test lamps and chimes like in the real machine. - this is just an idea more to find out what it takes to bring something like that into the picture.

3. Third and final one, likely the hardest and mostly impossible to do in my mind, but a functioning FMS coupled with the autopilot and EFIS,  and update-able database similar to the Take Command!: CRJ 200. I know lots of Saabs came out of the factory with a Universal FMS in it. Our A model came with a UNS-1K

Or even just a RNAV capable GPS like the KLN900B. Not sure if that's easier in the programming world or not.

Anyhow, that's all for now. Thanks again for an unbelievable product, and I look forward to your reply!

We are looking at other options.  Can't make any promises as to if or when this will happen.

During development we spoke to several Saab 340 pilots who all told us they almost never use the test panel, so we decided not to model it.  At this point in time our decision has not changed.

We have always said that we MAY do a "B" version in the future with an FMS. Again, we make no promises about if or when this will happen. The "A" model typically did NOT come with an FMS and that is how we modeled the aircraft.

The mini-GPS feature in the Saab allows for RNAV capability.

Absolutely, 100%...there is a DEFINITE chance you'll get this before christmas.

Kidding aside, files have been submitted.  Shouldn't be long.  The installer is quite complex.

Really ?! You fool everybody. it seems your magic wand is rotten...

I didn't fool anyone.

I said there is a CHANCE.

Just like there is a chance I could win the lottery.  But unlike the lottery, you are guaranteed to get the update.

Patience.  We want you to have it just as much as you do.

It's amazing how the new 747-8 had a patch out within a few days but you guys take months

What's even more amazing is that you think the Saab update is EXACTLY the same as the 747-8 patch and therefore should take the same amount of time to finish.  Please tell me what highly sophisticated aircraft you have developed so I can feel better that you have any clue what you're talking about. Unbelievable.

I won't even begin to have a debate about complexities with you. :) Nine words in to your post and I knew you can't even begin to relate. ;)

Believe what you wish and how you wish.

Congrats to the SSG team!
