Just updated to 8.b1 with Xplane 12 and xplane will shut down to desktop while loading Challenger 650.

Other xplane 12 planes allow loading. the attempt of selecting acl650 causes shut down.

Beta1 is not compatible with CL650.

This is NOT an issue with 12.0.8 - this is an issue with the Hot Start model. The developers themselves (Hot Start) is responsible for maintaining their models are up to date with our releases.

Well, this is what you sign up to when installing a beta. Laminar has always been transparent about this. You can't demand payware developers provide immediate updates for every beta Laminar tosses out. 12.0.8b1 has introduced a number of issues with a number of addon aircraft - some of them will likely need fixing on aircraft dev side, some will require Laminar to fix their beta code. Let's wait until 12.0.8 turns final, and then HS will be able to tell if they really have to update the Challenger, and if yes, what exactly they have to update. Anything else is just a waste of precious dev time by chasing a quick moving target.

Maybe we will have to change something, but I have an official LR bug report number for this issue that says “fixed” in Beta 2. So maybe the X-Plane Support person isn’t actually doing any research before pointing the finger back at us. (Wouldn’t be the first time.)

Status: Fixed, expected in 12.0.8-beta-2

Laminar changed a dataref we were writing to read-only, which triggered an assertion failure (an internal consistency check) and we bailed. That is done on purpose, so problem's aren't just left to silently fester, but are instead detected and fixed.

Now you chose to run a beta build of X-Plane. You should know that that means issues can and will crop up. If you want to fly X-Plane for fun, I would suggest keeping two copies installed.

Beta 2 is out. This is in the changelog
