Let L-410 UVP-E4 Turbolet

I'm happy to announce the release of v1.0 of the Let L-410 for X-Plane 10.45+ with 3D cockpit.

After nearly 6 years of bumpy development and a long beta testing phase, the Let L-410 is here.
This is the point where I say "stop" for v1.0. You never really can finish a plane. Still, there are awful lots of things to do. But let's leave those for v2.0 :)

You can download the plane from http://x-plane.hu/L-410/

FEATURES:

  • Detailed 3D cockpit
  • Built-in Garmin GPS
  • Realistic engine and flight model (~95% matching real data)
  • Instrument and cockpit lighting
  • Yoke can be hidden
  • Basic anti and de-ice system
  • Custom engine sounds
  • Custom engine startup
  • Checklist for XCheclist

All basic instruments are working, you can either fly RNAV with Garmin or NON-RNAV (VOR2VOR) flights with the NAV instruments.
Bugfixes, of course, will come after release, so I'll keep updating this version.

THANKS
I’d like to thank all the support and feedback I got from various people while developing this plane.
The project took a long time to finish - with breaks - but it worth every minute.
I’d like to thank Imre Kurucz, Attila Kotan, and Tibor Kokai for the images, videos and the support they gave since the beginning. There are a lot more people who gave inspiration and encouragement to finish the Let L-410, cannot name them specifically, but sometimes their word gave me the last push.

Big thanks to the beta testing team: Tamas Eibel, Karoly Molnar, Lars N. and Gyorgy Buki

Thanks for your work on this great aircraft. I'm trying to enjoy it but I'm experiencing very touchy controls. Very touchy on pitch and roll. Impossible to land or even take off.  (Yo YO effect)  And enroute it's always turning left or sometimes right. It must be my set up because everyone seems to have a great experience.

How would I find the descriptions for the settings in Plane Maker? How did you learn these? The manual does not go into any depth.

I would love so much to have a fluid flying experience with your beautiful aircraft. Thanks for your help. - PT

Hi,

Try adjusting your joystick settings in Settings/Joystick&Equipment -> pull the handles to have a non-linear pitch and roll controls. I had to set it around half way to use with CH Cessna yoke and full right for MS FFB2 joystick. Hope this helps a bit :)

I think that I had a conflict with X-Assign or Head Shake. I uninstalled them and things stabilized some.

The only thing now is I have no Reverse. Should the " / " key initiate full reverse?  Or " shift + / " ? I checked in key assignments and it's set for reverse.

Thank you for your help, - PT

Yeah, default reverse should work

Spent almost the whole day re-writing the engine model from JS to Lua (http://x-plane.hu/temp/L410/model/ - you can play with the black and green handles to see the result) :)

It was fun !@#%$$ :D

Almost there, numbers are matching, there's a small bug where the calculation goes wrong, but I'll leave it now and focusing on the startup sequence.

Also, engine probably catches fire if you intro fuel too early or being at max TRQ for more than 5-8 mins (weather, speed, etc dependent)

And one which I really like: pitot overheating - don't forget to turn them off on approach or turn on too early while taxiing, you'll burn and no IAS meter anymore... ;)

Woohoo. Great stuff. Can you give us an Outlook on the aircraft!? Will it be still freeware? I guess not, looking on the items you are working at. Will it be study level to the last switch and system?

And no, I am not asking for a possible release date.... Duck and cover :-)

Yes, that's the plan, to have a fully functional study level aircraft to the last switch... ;-)

You'll see what's done and what's next when I'm finished with one feature, I'll keep you updated :-) but for now I'll make a small exception and give you some wip image ;-)

Yes, like I mentioned before, the v2 will be payware. But there's a long long way until then and will do small fixes and updates to the current free version as well.

But bigger new features - like those above - are going to be in v2 only :)
