Robster Posted April 7, 2021 Report Posted April 7, 2021 Hello, How to use this function, Because in the preferences, if I don't check it, I won't have any reverse on landing? So I wonder if I should check this box in the preferences or not? Thank you for enlightening me. Quote
Cameron Posted April 7, 2021 Report Posted April 7, 2021 The alternative is assigning your joystick or other hardware button to a command where you would have to manually lift the latch (by pressing the button now assigned to the command). Quote
JGregory Posted April 7, 2021 Report Posted April 7, 2021 **************** IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS !!! **************** NOTES: (Power Lever Auto-Latch / Flight Idle Stop) We have partially implemented the Saab Flight Idle Stop System. The logic for the system is complete. The annunciator is not modeled. The Override Knob is not modeled. This new feature should provide much better functionality during the landing phase. This feature provides an automated "safety stop", which prevents inadvertent movement of the Power Levers below flight idle when in flight. This is separate from the Power Lever Latch. As a part of this new feature we have redesigned how you use the Power Lever Latches. You now have two options: 1. Use the Power Lever Latches exactly the way they are used in the real world Saab. 2. Have the Power Lever Latches "automated" in sync with the above described new Flight Idle Stop feature. If you choose to NOT use the Auto-Latch then you will need to manually engage the latches on the Power Levers in order to move them below the Flight Idle position. You will only be able to do this when the Flight Idle Stop is Open If you choose to use the Automated-Latch then you will not need to use the latches at all, they will be automated in sync with the Flight Idle Stop. Just remember, this does not eliminate the Flight Idle Gate, you will still need to wait for the Flight Idle Stop to open in order to move your levers below the Flight Idle position. You can choose which option you want to use in the User Preferences Window. When you load v1.6.4 the option should be set to "unchecked", which means you want to use the latches as they work in the real world Saab. If you want this to be automated you will need to check the option for "Use PL Auto Latch". In addition, all other preferences will be reset when you install v1.6.4 and you will need to set them accordingly. The red line for the Power Levers, visible in the TQ viewer, now indicates the status of the Flight Idle Stop. In v2.0 you will be able to see the status of the Flight Idle Stop as an annunciator on the FSP. You will still need to keep your hardware in sync with the cockpit manipulators. Quote
Carsten74 Posted April 7, 2021 Report Posted April 7, 2021 (edited) Thanks for the explenation. My problem is no matter what i do, i can´t put the power lever ON GROUND in ground - idle and i have no possibility to activate the reverser so after landing it is difficult to stop the plane. I know of course, that during the flight the PL does not has to be below Flight-Idle. Edited April 7, 2021 by Carsten74 Quote
Robster Posted April 7, 2021 Author Report Posted April 7, 2021 What is the name of the command in xplane please Quote

It sounds like the stop is preventing you because you are not lifting the gate. 1 minute ago, Robster said: What is the name of the command in xplane please les / sf34a / acft / engn / mnp / Right & Left Power Lever Flight Idle Latch Quote

Cameron Posted April 7, 2021 Report Posted April 7, 2021 Just now, Carsten74 said: actually it is not activated Which comes back to my point earlier, and what was outlined in linked posts to you prior with that explanation. We're happy to help, but please do read what is presented to you. Let us know if you continue to have issues after the fact. Quote

Please follow those instructions and then report back here. If you still have a problem post a screenshot of your User Preferences Window and the TQ Viewer Window (open at the same time). Quote

mz0824 Posted April 8, 2021 Report Posted April 8, 2021 (edited) I read all messages above but still not able to move the PL below flight idle detent ON THE GROUND after loading the plane. The throttle of the joystick (X52Pro) in full back position, pop-up TQ window shows that the throttle is in full reverse position (green rectangles, picture 1) but actually the throttle are still in the idle flight detent (picture 2). The User Preference window (picture 3) is attached as well. Any comments and suggestions are very appreciated. PS. XP 11.52 (Vulcan) + SAAB 340A 1.6.5 hot fix. Edited April 8, 2021 by mz0824 Quote

The Flight Idle Stop will default to the "CLOSED" position without power. The Right Battery Bus must be powered for the Flight Idle Stop to operate. Quote

No, the plane was not powered, only loaded. Will check and hope on problem solving. ADDED Thanks, it works as advised by you. Indeed, the plane is to be powered what enables to move the PL below Flight Idle detent on the ground. Edited April 8, 2021 by mz0824 Additinal info Quote
B-7 Posted April 8, 2021 Report Posted April 8, 2021 That's where the gust lock comes in handy btw, it prevents you to setting the throttles beyond the gate. Quote
