crisk73 Posted May 14, 2016 Report Posted May 14, 2016 I've noticed this strange behaviour of power lines blinking from cockpit view with the WX switch on; they look normal upon turning the switch off. Photoreal scenery plus w2xp Europe from Simheaven, last NV drivers. I'm going to make some tests with the default scenery. Does anybody have this same issue? https://youtu.be/ODTLf1eGnJs Quote
Litjan Posted May 14, 2016 Report Posted May 14, 2016 Hmm, interesting... do you have any plugins running that change the artcontrols, like Terra Haze or such? Jan Quote
Litjan Posted May 14, 2016 Report Posted May 14, 2016 Try to disable and see if you still get the effect? Quote
crisk73 Posted May 14, 2016 Author Report Posted May 14, 2016 Still blinking also without RTH and the whole flywithlua folder removed. Quote
letec Posted May 14, 2016 Report Posted May 14, 2016 Confirm. For me the same thing. If as the aircraft in a state of C&D nothing happens. Everything starts after power on, APU, etc. Quote
crisk73 Posted May 14, 2016 Author Report Posted May 14, 2016 It's the WX switch for me, also with default scenery. Quote
Tchou Posted May 14, 2016 Report Posted May 14, 2016 I saw some blinking on the clouds for my part but I'll try to power off WX to see if it's related Quote
Celis Posted May 14, 2016 Report Posted May 14, 2016 Maybe LOD, at the bottom of RTH, theres a LOD box, scroll and change it to 1.0 and check... sometimes I get that flickering if lod is 1.3+ Quote
Schorle Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 Can confirm. Powerlines flickering with WX turned on. Quote
Litjan Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 Thanks for the reports, everyone! We will take a look and see what we can find out! Jan Quote
apollo_1981 Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 I also want to confirm the issue. Did some tests and found out that you don´t need to power up the Plane. In Cold and Dark you only need to switch the WX Radar on and the blinking begins, but only in the Cockpit view, not on an Outside view. Removed all Plugins from Plugins-Folder except for Gizmo and removed all Custom Scenery, but it didn´t change anything, blinking is still there. Sven 1 Quote
mokny Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 Ha, I wondered why they are blinking and now I see this topic. Just tried to disable the WX, and the blinking stopped. Nice find! Quote

Same here, at first I thought this was something in my nvidia settings as I tend to customize them a lot but even after clean driver reinstall the problem persisted. Nice find indeed to figure out its the WX radar. Quote
Nils Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 (edited) Dear all, you seem to have discovered a very interesting electro magnetic phenomena, involving microwaves in the radar spectrum hitting metal wires at the appropriate distance and angle, known to cause optical hallucinations with aircrews. Edit: fixed in next patch, Edited May 16, 2016 by Nils 3 Quote
