  2. i am running xplane 10 over a retina 5k imac (yosemite) and it runs great. i know a lot of people which are running xplane over 2013 & retina's as well. i am pretty sure you are doing something wrong. I strongly suggest 3 things: 1. Activate frame rates statistics and let us know what you are getting? if they are too bad the simulator will behave erraticaly. In such case you don't know how to activate them go to settings -> data input/output and activate the fourth checkbox left to right over the first line top left corner. 2. upload a screen capture of your rendering settings 3. very helpful, upload a video link to see what is going on. you may capture it with the mobile and upload to youtube.
  3. i pressume you are missing to clic CDI button on the GPS (lower left corner) to change it from VORLOC to GPS mode. VORLOC mode = freq. nav (vor / ils) GPS mode = to follow a gps flight plan
  4. great will be waiting for the video. Just curious, what speed are you climbing at? at those altitudes the plane will not climb at 170+ kias! You should probably be at 150 kias aprox. which is more than 220 TAS
  5. A quick advise. be sure to point the camera view to the condition levers before moving them. Then start moving them until you see a visual detent (clic) over the MAX position. be sure not to overshoot the MAX position otherwise the condition levers will enter in T/M mode which is not simulated and the plane has almost no trust to climb/accelerate. question, do you use xplane -time compression- during your flight? it happened to me (not only the saab but any aircraft) that activating time compression while in cruising leads into fuel imbalance. Once you are higher and moving faster the condition levers HAVE to be retarded a bit to achieve maximum performance, you can not keep them at MAX position for the entire flight, the plane will be producing lot of torque but no speed. Use the charts for several cruising configurations. 1300-1350 rpm is a good balance. hope this helps

    just for your reference, in advance: some SID (departure procedures) requires VECTORS (ATC giving you directions how to join the SID), as such you program all the FMC then you takeoff, activate the A/P and the plane keeps flying and flying not trying to intercept the SID procedure. If you look closely to the legs page there is one step that contains "VECTORS", it means the pilot should wait for ATC further instructions before allowed to join and resume the SID. In those cases you see VECTORS just press the left soft key on the fmc pointing to the next step after vectors, then clic vectors soft key to replace and shift everything up. Now you can depart, activate your A/P, relax and watch the FMC making its job Hope you find this helpful. i.e. KLAX 28L/R SIDs fall in this category.

    ARL25 is a holding point, no aircraft can move forward without further instructions from the ATC. I presume you are flying alone (not online ATC vatsim/ivao) as such you are not instructing the FMC what to do next and the fmc is not going to violate the procedure restriction byitself. In order to bypass the restriction, just press the left ket pointing LNA then press the left key pointing ARL25, the fmc will replace ARL25 by LNA shifting remaining waypoints up. Before reaching there your route will look like XXX->ELTOK->LNA->XXX->XXX, you can bypass ARL25 restriction even before departing. It is not necessary to wait once there.   8. Hi LES team: How is the beta progressing, any news to share? I signed on pilotedge a while back, but i started to fly intensively on the past few weeks. I did my VFR ratings on a small piston, now half way on the IFR training flying the Saab 340 which i love. I haven´t had any issue to complete my IFR ratings so far, but getting those new radios shown on the preview will certainly help to speed up fast frequency changes over busy airports and complex procedures. Thanks for creating this magnificent aircraft

  12. set the frequency on the LEFT RADIO main pedestal, try higher or lower .60 or .65, it should work. Be sure you activate left mic or you won't hear nothing (below the on/off radio button) I suggest you sitting your aircraft on another airport with an standard atis frequency, so you are sure you are activating the radio properly.
  13. That is you altimeter pressue reference, the higher the value you put there the higher that your aircraft altitude would read and vicebersa. It it highly important that the altimeter reference is set properly before takeoff and before landing, otherwise your aircraft will read an incorrect altitude. To know what value you should set there, tune the airport ATIS weather report. 29.92 is the standard altimeter reference. To change that value rotate the BARO knob to the right (increase) or to the left (decrease). The BARO knob is located on the MCP panel, just a side to the left of the A/P button. This is a double action knob. If you rotate the back part of the knob you set the units HPA (hectopascal) or IN (inches millibars) reading, leave it inches XX.XX. If you rotate the front part of the knob you change the pressure reference. Set it to your current weather conditions (ATIS report). Just to understand how it works, having your airplane sitting on the parking area. Increase or Decrease the altitude reference, and watch how your aircraft altitude increases or decreases. You will see there how incorrect your altitude could be and the plane is not even moving at all.
  14. I meant the ALT SETTING the "green number" below your current altitude vertical grey bar. It is highly important to set your reference altimeter properly to current weather conditions for an accurate altitude

The ILS is there and tuned properly, the plane is following the localizer (horizontal guidance) but it is unable to follow the glideslope (vertical guidance), problem is by the time the ILS comes alive you are higher than expected and the plane will not dive nose down to catch up the GS, it is necessary you are -at the right altitude or below- for the plane to pickup the GS diamond and start descending. The picture has low quality for zooming in, is your altimeter 3X.XX ?? seems too high for that weather, did you set it properly at transition level? this may cause your being too high all path down I can not see what happened before DEVOD but seems you were coming too fast and the FMC will be unable to put the aircraft at the right altitude in time. I would suggest trying this flight again and a lot before DEVOD watch your speed and apply one notch of speed brakes for the FMC being able to command the aircraft nose down enough to reach the target altitude. Once you are at the right speed/altitude you retract the speed brakes. PS: you are also experiencing fuel leak, you may experience other severe failures as well. Since you are learning this aicraft i strongly recommend you disabling CUSTOM FAILURES on the 777 MENU before initiating your flights which may add more problems to the combo. Let us know how this tips perform and we will move from there
  16. As long as i understand, on todays modern jetliners the pilots just do the takeoff and land by hand, that's it, a few minutes hand flying per trip, the computers do the rest on a normal flight. But they are responsible for all the programming and manage any unexpected situation due to failures or flight plan changes (weather, traffic, etc). As others mentioned, as per your FMC, you should be at 3000 feet while intercepting the ILS. Could you please screen capture -NAV RAD- FMC display while there? ILS should be configured there in PARK mode and change automatically to active. Maybe the whole front panel screen capture will be great as well to understand your aircraft configuration and screens information while you are on top PISAS Also watch your speed, the aircraft will not be able to stabilize properly on the ILS if you are coming too hot, you are changing heading 076 to 229 PISAS to OM23

  19. I was born in a very small town at Argentina, x-plane only populates the runway. I managed to recreate the flying club over WED (taxi, parking area, hangars, fueling, fence, etc)... but how can i populate a small town in the vicinity as it should be? can i use world2xplane to populate a small town from no other input than coordinates/size? Haven´t found any internet database that covers that area to convert. I am not concerned about it been realistic, but having a town at least for flying in my area. thanks for your support.

    Hi LES Developers, i would like to have the dataref list as well for making this great plane available for shared cockpit flights (SmartCopilot plugin). Did you already receive any request for this? is it possible to share them for this? thanks
