  1. The following video traces the flight from KBOS to KJFK as described in the official manual for the Saab 340A by Leading Edge Simulations. Embarrassed by my sloppy landing, the following shot video demonstrates a better effort.
  2. First, congrats to the LES team on making a beautiful and complex SAAB 340A. I see them fly out of CYYC on a daily basis under the WestJet and Pacific Coastal liveries. Great accompanying documentation. Well-worth the money. Question: What is the joystick / keyboard command to move the CRS1 / CRS2 knobs? I saw on a keyboard map the it is SHIFT+Q, SHIFT+W / SHIFT+E, SHIFT+R.
  3. Hi, I'm fairly new to XPlane - flying for about a month now. However I noticed some strange behavior in the area of navigation. At least I cannot understand what is going on. For some reason I'm having a real difficulty to track a VOR. When I intercept a radial and fly the corresponding HDG the CDI shifts nevertheless, to quite a considerable deviation. One way to mitigate is to fly a HDG which is a couple of degrees off. For example to track radial 286 I need to fly HDG 283. Does anyone know what could be the reason for that? Another problem I saw - there is some radial mismatch between the X-Plane VOR radials and HDG info from sites like Skyvector. I know that X-Plane does not have the most up to date data. On the other hand neither does Skyvector, so how do you navigate? I'm flying in CAVOK conditions, no wind, so weather is not an issue. I'm also using AP so nothing to do with my beginner flying skills Really appreciate your help. Thanks!
  4. I love the new DC-3, but I have a couple questions. 1. I can get Nav1 and an NDB on the leftmost nav gauge. Where does Nav2 appear? Only on the copilot gauge? That's okay with me, I just want to make sure I understand how the gauges work. 2. I know the DC-3 appeared before the advent of VORs. Is that why I can't find an OBS knob anywhere? Or is there one and I'm just missing it? (By the way, thank you for not including a GPS. Much more immersive this way.) 3. What's the expected cruising speed of the plane? 4. Any general advice on how to manage throttle/prop/mixture? All three full on takeoff seems to work, but shortly after takeoff, I get engine warnings unless I reduce power or prop or both. In general, do we fly this like we'd fly smaller two-engine piston aircraft, like the Baron 58? "Prop on top", etc.? 5. Also, should I be opening cowl flaps on takeoff and on steep descents? 6. I'm nervous about turning her into a true tail-dragger. Maybe fly a bit this way first? Any advice on that? Thanks!
  5. i have some problems when i use more than one holding. sometimes the holding name is outdated at the hold page. a the leg page it looks correct but the holding is ignored or the exit knob is missing. maybe this is related: when i use the "DCT INT" page to enter a direct, i see a new FIX at the current position. this new fix get a label from my route (very confusing). does anybody have the same problems or do you need an example video? crj-200 1.5.3 x-plane 10.11 32bit win7 64bit
  6. Coming accross different forums, trying to find out how to get accurate navigation data to be included into X-Plane navdata source, I decided to fork the "official" navdata source and publish my corrections and changes into a github project. http://github.com/mc...-plane-navdata/ The Navigation data used in X-Plane depends on one single maintainer and thus the process of adding missing navigation data (e.g. VOR-DME's or waypoints) as well as correcting wrong data (misplaced airports and outdated waypoints) has to be submitted for review, before being included and released in new versions of navdata. I believe a collective distribution of corrected navigation data in a github repository would be much more efficient than depending on one single maintainer... Please feel free to contact me in case you are interested in including your corrected data and contributing to a more accurate x-plane navigation data source. Happy landing! Luther
