On a serious note, just picked up "Spectre" for the iphone for $1, great smooth gameplay and brings the memories back! - and no, it's not the more recent C-130 based game. A lethal but easy to use online mode too. Incredible $1 value. If anyone brings out the original 'Elite', I might cry with joy!

Just posted this pic to the blog, but I thought I'd share it here, pretty funny. Problems with Xplane again, severe push to the right on the nose gear/yaw: This occurred after installing Tom Curtis' Boeing pack, anyone heard of such a thing occurring?!

Actually I was referring to the PLANE, not that scenery, wherever it is . Anyway, he's obviously just photoshopped a real photo under the saab..

Dozer, I hope that clears it up. I originally spotted the error in the ad, and yes I think it smacks of poor value-add by the retailer. First impressions do count. I actually love the quaint rusky way of writing things, but not in a headline advert. Ha, and the error is still there! Virtaully at least..

Plus a few of us love steam gauges and the classics, where it took 3 sliderule toting he-men to fly a jumbo manually, rather than 2 screenjockeys. Won't say no to the 8 or the 400 or SP though...

I wasn't referring to the existence of it, just news of the imminent release & early link to be available. You're all gonna love it, just took her up over Oahu, will make a VERY nice video bird. The start up sequence takes a bit of prepping, and as each engine comes to life, it's a real relief and they really do sound alive. Good times. Anyone got a spare 4 engine throttle quadrant?

Yes the textures are great, but they are not as crisp as the best payware, as they want this beast to fly smoothly on any pc made of plastic. Release- Arnaud announced that it would be released on April the First, funny eh! We have good info that they will still definitely meet this deadline or even better it, maybe first xplane to ever do such a thing?! Keep watching the blog for the release announcement- they have given us the ok to provide the download link 2 HOURS EARLY to allow all our fans time to grab it, before the hordes crash their servers! You heard it first on x-pilot. Only here, as I don't frequent the other forums..

Thanks! I'll check it out. It might be psychological but I'd swear I've already noticed a difference with Nhancer. Nice Mentor update Javier, all improvements appreciated- it feels more heavy in response, just as I would have expected. Still the best cockpit lighting in Xplane (until the .org claims so in one of it's hilarious, over-hyped adverts..)

I was too late- I would have said Ben uses it in flight, in his car! I've seen him drive his WRX... Even the iPhone gps is laggy beyond walking pace. All the iPad tools are great and useful, but if I was a real world pilot, I'd never rely on it solely, in case of crash or battery issues. Cool to show the chaps back at the flying club I'm sure! Its best use is, like Ben says, for reading casually on terra firma, maybe memorizing charts, procedures etc, in a light portable way, better than carrying the whole US AIPs around! Or showing to an instructor and discussing alternatives.

I actually enjoy reading Javier's manuals, that quirky Spanish Javier humour always makes me chuckle. And I've just installed Nhancer for Nvidia on his suggestion. And an awful lot better than I would write a Spanish manual!
